Great fliez! So, I've been tying a few months now and have steered away from rabbit zonker patterns. The two flys I purchased online from a reputable vendor simply didn't last long, the rabbit fur came off to easily. Have u experienced this? And no, I wasn't smacking rocks and bushes....lol

did the fur start coming off the strips? i haven’t experienced this but i haven’t purchased any of those flies either so i’m not sure, i do try and keep everything locked down on my flies so they survive after many casts and fish

@Balaz Fly Co so these flies were called Butt Monkeys. They came from Mad River Outfitters. Flys were well made, the rabbit strips lost half the fur. Oh well, maybe just a poor hide care??

@@caryverhalen That is pretty weird, they do look like they're well made, they could always use a cheaper version of rabbit strips or store their materials or flies in a weird way, but that shouldn't happen where it would actually lose fur off the hide

Do you have any issues with fowling with this pattern?

Usually no, but if you want to really avoid fouling you can tie in a 12-20lb piece of mono underneath the rabbit strips so it holds them up and supports them
