Good choice Brandoouuun! I'm 6'2 myself, walk around 236, doing a meet in one week at 105kg, but decided to move on up to the 120kg class after that. As they say: "if you're the tallest dude in your weight class, you're in the wrong weight class"
still muscle to be made? bro...test, deca, anadrol...switch to the uspa, quit your job, do TH-cam full time, divorce the wife, join grinder, really live out your final years... assuming of course that you only have 5-10 left. I believe in you
I feel your pain man. I've been contemplating the same thing. I compete at 74kg being 5'10 I figured that was pretty average, until I went to my first meet and towered over my competition.
This is exactly how I feel. I am 6'3 and currently weight 240 and trying to get down to 225-230lbs. At my biggest I was 250 and solid and strong. At my lightest I was 230 and could see abs and could lift and run, everything needed for the military. Now I am trying to get back to that 230 weight.
Not worth it to bulk hard when you are natty for the most part (genetics) I dirty bulked to 210 pounds at 5ft9 and it just got to a point where I looked more fat than actually looking like I lift so I took a 10 month cut and couldn't be happier
awesome man! I'm on the same page. I'm 5'11" and train for powerlifting and olympic weightlifting. for the longest time I was in the 85kg weight bracket. let me tell ya, my progress sacked ass! now that I'm gaining muscle, I'm noticing a big difference. short term goal is 94kg in the next few years. long term goal is 105kg in about a decade or so. I know what to do to get there. going to be a lot of eating a decade. but when I get there, I know I'll be at my best. wish I would have been gaining weight in high school. I graduated at 135 pounds. so I've already put on 60 pounds sincethen. 30 more to go!
also, check out Alpha Destiny for mad bulking tips. I gained over 5 pounds in 5 months on my back and traps alone just following his advice. best of luck dude!
The scale is amazing! Had one for a while and love it. I am in the same predicament, 6'4" and walk around 225, and compete at 220. My issue is I also own a CF gym and need to set an example for my members by staying in somewhat decent condition. I also am not married yet so I have to keep things tight until I lock something down.
Haha I know that feeling. I think one of the reasons I'm going to not worry about weight is this is one of the first summers we wont' be spending a lot of time at the beach since the wifey is 9 months pregnant.
We're exactly the same, we don't wanna pile on the calories in the chase for the gains due to fear of gaining too much fat. The slow struggle continues! Always amazes us when people pile the weight on so quickly without any real strength progression. Nice vid as ever B 💪💪
If you're 6'4" and 231lb I'd say you could definitely benefit from moving up a weight class, anyone who's 5'10-11" and filled out the 231 class is just going to have a huge advantage of terms of the muscle they can carry over you and still make weight. If I didn't have about 10-15lbs of loose skin after my weight loss I'd maybe be able to pull off a 230lb weight, but I'm only have a training age of like 3y6m with probably about 6m of dead time during that, so I could easily mostly fill out the 262lb class after a few more years and I'm only 6'1".
I'm 6'4", 265, up from 215 three years ago before I started training. Your frame can handle much more mass and you will be stronger. Losing 20 lbs. will be easy when the time comes.
I lived across the street from Matt Kroczaleski during his powerlifting days. He said he always had to stay at a high body weight to have good lifts. Keep up the good work Brandon
2:33 And that's something i've always struggled with. I can't do anything slow and controlled , i either go all in or don't do it at all. #PrettySureTheBeyonceIsOkayWithThat
I was thinking about getting that scale, since mine isn't very consistent. But I live in Europe, and I don't really wanna deal with all the import charges, shipping and such.
trying to get of my excess body fat down and get into a better shape so I guess this was a well placed upload as I just placed an order. I hope you get something off the back of it or I want my money back hahaha. good luck man I am sure when your food intake starts to go up you will progress very well in your training along with it.
Brandon Campbell Diamond just looking for a simple slow weight cut. First goal is 88kg then see if I want to go further. or stay where I am. I think I would be too light if I cut all the way down to the 83's. so might just end up a light guy in the 93's.
I've always been a fan of staying as close to my natural weight... it's healthier to be lighter... and continue to get stronger at that weight... the science of getting stronger without getting bigger is more impressive... IMO.
Good on yah man. I struggle with my weight and to tell you truth my who life. I have not weighed myself...(probably should just to get an idea). Plus the whole diet thing or whatever you want to call sounds like a lot of work. I'll will just continue to lift and if I know my PRs are getting higher than I'm happy.
I'm guilty of this, mainly down to inconsistency with tracking. Weight comes off a lot easier than it goes on for me so I tend to go crazy when bulking and get a little fat. One of the things I'm working on since working with tsa also
Hey Brandon I just had a quick question because I myself am a pretty lanky guy. I am around 6 feet and since I am an Indian its pretty good as per Indian standards. I myself face some problems. Like for example I am a very good squatter. I make it look easy but my legs look like 2 straws and even though I am a powerlifter, it still bothers me that I basically struggle to put muscle on my unending legs. So how do I come out of this or should I just close my eyes and keep progressing hoping that my biomechanics could take care of itself? Also how different would it be when a tall guy does the 3 lifts and when a short guy does those 3 lifts?
I think genetics still play the biggest role on what we look like and our potential, that being said, I'd focus on progressing your strength if that's your main goal. If you just desire size, it might be about adjusting your training to cater towards promoting hypertrophy.
Hey bro some people may think you don't look like a lifter. But so what the reality is that you are very strong and lift alot of weight and you to me you do look like a strong sob lol. Most guys would give anything to be at your height. So the way I see it... You got the best of both worlds bro keep it up. Very inspirational. 💪
Yeah, I made a comment like that a long time ago about how strong you were vs. your appearance. I had no idea you were so tall. I apologize if I offended you. Keep on keepin' on Campbell!
Yesss bout time! btw do you know how long that deal will last for the scale? Also wasn't there another website/brand called vanityplanet with the same scale?
Could you please make a video about what you do when you bulk and bump up your wieght. Such as your diet and the types of exercises you do ect. It would really be helpful to those trying to gain a few extra pounds.
Some guidelines, you're not eating enough unless: - doing more than 2 reps feels like cardio -getting in a car makes it drop a few cm/inches - you cant raise your arms over your head - you make the kaka 4 times a day
You should definitely go up a weight class, I've been consistent for 10 months and weigh 102kg at 6' and can see myself struggling to keep within that in the future If you got heavier all your leverages would improve and so would your strength, just eat what you do right now but add in a liquid meal or something?
Your Videos are always so relatable, I'm 6,3 107kg (236lb)and was also wondering if should compete in -105 oder -120. Although so far im good with -105kg, was able to lose a bunch of weight without a loss of strength.
Join me bald brother in the parillo style diet for bulking. Read purposeful primitive if you haven't already. One thing I got from that book was something that a powerlifter said in terms of strength. He said to maximize your strength and your leverages you need to fill out your frame/height. I'm in the process of doing exactly what you're about to do. I'm 6'1.5 and just recompped to cut some fat. Sitting around 213lbs. But my own version of the Parillo style diet has been doing wonders in adding lean poundage to me instead of bacon fat and flab.
I've gained a little more fat than I wanted due to getting lazy on tracking my macros. I'm back on track, my question is I'll be losing some weight while still in a surplus. will I still build strength and muscle?
You can, depends on a bunch of factors of course, plus both of those things take a decent amount of time to actually see a difference. I'd just be weary of going into too big of a surplus.
Great vid Brandon! Have you thought about doing some diet related/full day of eating vids again? you were one of the first TH-camrs to do that and you got mad cooking skills
horapa "Typical powerlifter" you mean a "typical powerlifter from 30 years ago that wasn't a raw lifter" because all the best in powerlifters are jacked in this day and age. Dan Green, Pete Rubish, Larry Wheels, Brett Gibbs, Kevin Oak, Eric Lillibridge. The tops guys are all lean and huge, drugs or not.
I've been on a bulk for the last 27 years of my life haha. actually i been loosing weight for over a year now (84 lbs down). i still have over 100 lbs to loose but taking the whole process slow and steady. I have been weight training for a while and was looking to get an actual routine going (I use to lift for a couple years when i was 18 but that was a long time ago. so i know what exercises work which muscles but never got a routine going). does anyone have any advice/websites that might help put me in the right direction as far as getting a lifting routine or "split" going?
I know you know what GHRs & GMs are, so I'll assume it's double paused squats. It's something I came up with (I've never seen it or heard of it before). Pause squats only build strength in the hole. It's great, but doesn't always address failures above parallel. That's where these come in. Squat down into the hole, pause, break parallel, pause at a place that has been giving you trouble or just change the position from time to time for variation, then lock out. It not only creates starting strength from multiple positions, but creates a ridiculous amount of tension & time under tension. Negating the effects of momentum makes you really effing strong. I usually do a set of 6, 4 and 3. Each set only increases 5kg (currently; oh, repping that kilo life, lol). I do the set of 6 mainly for mental stamina. It's just hard as hell, especially after running 5 sets of 3 @ 80% a la Sheiko.
Bro you already have my girls interest with skyrim...don't get jacked man. All joking aside I agree man, when I started a weight gain (somewhat controlled) I felt I felt so much better, but then got out of hand and it threw everything off (I assume by changing leverages and my energy levels were shit). Good luck dude!
Did you ever speak to your doctor about this? Why you're able to lift the weight you do yet not end up bulking up automatically. You are probably just naturally "Strong". yet might be low in T-cells? Some one said that "taller guys" (e.g. 6'3+ are usually more lean and would find it harder to put on mass. Though there are the exceptions who are probably "using". A given (e.g. Fitness models, Pro bodybuilders...don't know about pro powerlifters..but most pro athletes use IMHO). An example is the actor from Rocky 4 Dolph Lundgren. He's around your height. Between 6'4-6'-5. While still fairly muscular in the film he still looked a little on the "leaner side of muscular". I wouldn't consider myself "strong (e.g. naturally strong...be able to lift more than the average person even w/o training before hand, not being athletic...). But when I began watching my diet and working out I could see myself bulking up at a "reasonable rate". Vs. some guys that could put on as much muscle or more in half the time....w/o any "aid" (steroids/GH). Also, I'm no in my 20's any more so that comes into play but lets say that I can bench the weight I should be for fit guys in my age range. I'm just not putting on mass and getting shredded fast. Or as quick as "strong guys". Who would have better genetic as far as athletics go. Though, the guys we met and consider strong...we don't know if they're not using as well (the odd mutant in the gym). I'm not aiming to get stronger but build a better physique. A better version of me.
I get my testosterone checked every year as part of my yearly physical. I'm still within what's considered average. I think part of the issue with perception is most people just aren't aware what's attainable natural and what's not. That being said, genetics play a huge role in what you look like (and what you're able to look like) with training.
Man all you can do is push it and love the roller coaster. People stress too much about the macro thing and honestly people at our age aren't twenty like these know it alls we see out there. Here's my advice. Throw on Metallica and push like you hate it and enjoy it. Win or lose you won. You're videos are much more worthwhile than you know.
So, the scale had you at 19%. I know you probably don't care as much about such things but do you think your actual BF would be above or below that? I would think your more around 14-15
I've done those 2 RPS meets, I think the USAPL just runs a better meet (and most of my friends compete USAPL). However I wouldn't be opposed to maybe doing a USPA meet at some point.
Brandon Campbell Diamond you think you get style points now matching shoes, singlets, and sleeves, wait until you start using knee wraps. More stuff to buy!
Good choice Brandoouuun! I'm 6'2 myself, walk around 236, doing a meet in one week at 105kg, but decided to move on up to the 120kg class after that. As they say: "if you're the tallest dude in your weight class, you're in the wrong weight class"
awesome to hear, kick some ass!

Amen
Jeremy Geist I'm dead
waiting on him to join grindr like a creeper lol
That sounds like a lot of work and I'm extremely lazy.
Pissenin response!👍
the natty struggle..go up Brandon, we don't care about weight classes we're freaks
lol trueee
I feel your pain man.
I've been contemplating the same thing.
I compete at 74kg being 5'10
I figured that was pretty average, until I went to my first meet and towered over my competition.
Lol, that lanky life!
Don't fear the gut. 250 or bust.
fuck that, 300 pounds and make some actual numbers on the squat, deadlift and bench
Hah we'll see. However can't do it to quickly or it might end up changing my leverages.

I think we all once did a perma bulk lol
Yeah, plus leverages might change for lifts!

300+ lbs full Hindenburg mode baby it sick

The upper right portion of the thumbnail drew me in.
my evil plan worked
I lived across the street from Matt Kroczaleski during his powerlifting days. He said he always had to stay at a high body weight to have good lifts. Keep up the good work Brandon
Thanks my dude
It's hard competing against hench hobbits
We all clicked for shirtless Brandon.
sorry to disappoint :)
2:33 And that's something i've always struggled with. I can't do anything slow and controlled , i either go all in or don't do it at all.
#PrettySureTheBeyonceIsOkayWithThat
hey now
Hoping to see a harder, faster, bigger, stronger Brandon Campbell soon! Good luck buddy.
would you settle for a softer, slower, fatter version?
if you don't start reminding me to "stay big" I am going to follow you around Happy Gilmore style and yell jackass everytime you compete!
I think I'd prefer that!
I love your expression on the 215 video, just a very solid "meh".
lol filming yourself is weird enough, filming yourself shirtless is a whole new ball game.
That Matt Ogus comparison 😂😂😂
long live flexforall!
I was thinking about getting that scale, since mine isn't very consistent. But I live in Europe, and I don't really wanna deal with all the import charges, shipping and such.
yeah prob not worth it!
Hahaha the way you look in the mirror shirtless and shrug cracks me up every time
Filming myself shirtless is not my area of expertise lol.
trying to get of my excess body fat down and get into a better shape so I guess this was a well placed upload as I just placed an order. I hope you get something off the back of it or I want my money back hahaha. good luck man I am sure when your food intake starts to go up you will progress very well in your training along with it.
you're too kind John, any specific weight you're looking to get to?
Brandon Campbell Diamond just looking for a simple slow weight cut. First goal is 88kg then see if I want to go further. or stay where I am. I think I would be too light if I cut all the way down to the 83's. so might just end up a light guy in the 93's.
makes sense!
I've always been a fan of staying as close to my natural weight... it's healthier to be lighter... and continue to get stronger at that weight... the science of getting stronger without getting bigger is more impressive... IMO.
I think that's what I've adhered too, but I think the likelihood of getting stronger faster is probably there at a heavier weight for now.
im eating burritos while watching this, perfect morning
yeah buddy!
Right on!
Yeeeaah finally going in the 120kg / 264lbs class ?! You're going to be strong as shit !
Have a long way to go!
I have the same problem that you do. Great video Brandon!
Appreciate it brotha
I would say 6-8 months of consistent training in a slight caloric surplus will yield a handsome amount of muscular and strength gains.
Yeah l'm going to try to commit there, we'll see if it happens lol.
I'm guilty of this, mainly down to inconsistency with tracking. Weight comes off a lot easier than it goes on for me so I tend to go crazy when bulking and get a little fat. One of the things I'm working on since working with tsa also
Glad I'm not alone!
Just when I needed a scale. Great timing!
hey now!
Glad you decided to gain weight, B. Can't wait to see the PRs
Hopefully there are a few left!
Thanks Ray!
1:05 lmao! Great work as always
Thanks J
Same thing with me. Good luck.
right back at ya!
Yeah, I made a comment like that a long time ago about how strong you were vs. your appearance. I had no idea you were so tall. I apologize if I offended you. Keep on keepin' on Campbell!
Luckily I have no feelings.
Yesss bout time! btw do you know how long that deal will last for the scale? Also wasn't there another website/brand called vanityplanet with the same scale?
It's the same company if I'm not mistaken
Could you please make a video about what you do when you bulk and bump up your wieght. Such as your diet and the types of exercises you do ect.
It would really be helpful to those trying to gain a few extra pounds.
Sure I can try to address this. Ideally though, your training shouldn't differ.
Nationals this year B? Would love to lift with you man if you end up water cutting to the 105s after the bulk. Blessings
Probably not going to work out well timing-wise this year, but I def would like to make it one day!
Some guidelines, you're not eating enough unless:
- doing more than 2 reps feels like cardio
-getting in a car makes it drop a few cm/inches
- you cant raise your arms over your head
- you make the kaka 4 times a day
lol
Can't watch right now. But if you are unsure the answer the always yes. Curious to see what you said when I catch up later :)
Is your pic from an RPS meet?? if so which one?? (if you don't mind me asking) kik
Yeah it was, I think RPS heatwave in 2015
2:36 always go all in. Best advice in life ..
hiyo!
4:48 aaaannnd there's the innuendo. Knew I could count on you.
Had to be careful since this was a sponsored video lol.
You should definitely go up a weight class, I've been consistent for 10 months and weigh 102kg at 6' and can see myself struggling to keep within that in the future
If you got heavier all your leverages would improve and so would your strength, just eat what you do right now but add in a liquid meal or something?
Might be the way to go
Bulk up to super heavyweight what ever it takes icecream peanut butter 3k calories shakes olive oil butter yeah baby 5%er!
lol'd
Your Videos are always so relatable,
I'm 6,3 107kg (236lb)and was also wondering if should compete in -105 oder -120. Although so far im good with -105kg, was able to lose a bunch of weight without a loss of strength.
I don't really see a point of cutting down for the majority of people, go in with what you feel most comfortable weighing!
Join me bald brother in the parillo style diet for bulking. Read purposeful primitive if you haven't already.

bacon fat and flab do sound quite appealing
Thank you for the video, Thumbs Up.
Thanks dude!

Great vid Brandon!
Have you thought about doing some diet related/full day of eating vids again?
you were one of the first TH-camrs to do that and you got mad cooking skills
Hah maybe one of these days, I didn't think people found those that interesting anymore.
the season of the dreamer bulk is upon us let's goooo
lol
I'm 5'7" and 59kg, quite lean but too skinny :( finally made a goal to put some weight on
Get after it!
Hey, I think you should be proud that you don't look like the typical bulky powerlifter! Your athlete build looks so much healthier, stay with that.
horapa "Typical powerlifter" you mean a "typical powerlifter from 30 years ago that wasn't a raw lifter" because all the best in powerlifters are jacked in this day and age. Dan Green, Pete Rubish, Larry Wheels, Brett Gibbs, Kevin Oak, Eric Lillibridge. The tops guys are all lean and huge, drugs or not.
I dunno, most of the powerlifters I follow now are pretty yoked!
I think Candito has some great free programs!
Thanks!
Damn 215 without a shirt, you look pretty damn good. And hilarious video as always!
haha thanks!
I’m 6’2 195lb 17% bf 😆 I think for me lol balanced 210lb but I don’t see 15lb of muscle magically happening natural
Over time def doable!
Man we in the same boat, Im 6'4 between 220-230 ish I get the same comments your pretty strong for being so tall
the struggle is real
Time for a move Brandon
Everything is bigger in Texas
Haha true that
I've been there, dreams did not come true.
Suggestions on growing hamstrings?
Glute Ham Raises, Good mornings. Double pause squats (pause in the hole, pause above parallel).... good places to start. :D
What are those?
I know you know what GHRs & GMs are, so I'll assume it's double paused squats.
It's something I came up with (I've never seen it or heard of it before). Pause squats only build strength in the hole. It's great, but doesn't always address failures above parallel. It's just hard as hell, especially after running 5 sets of 3 @ 80% a la Sheiko.
In all seriousness the exercise that's helped get my hamstrings strong are deficit RDLs/SLDLs
I imagine you've got quite a few years of gains left in you! Will you bring your volume up to gain more mass?
I don't think the programming will stray too much from what it's been TBH
You're too hard on yourself man.
One of the ways I get myself motivated!
Biggest thing when you're tall (I'm 6'4'') and natural... you never look like you lift... or at least how you want to look...
and yea....
Yolo bulk = 100lbs on bench... trust me bro haha

good luck man! you can do it :)
Thanks!
Its tough being competitive as a tall lifter, we all gonna make it doe mane
Yeah I think that's why I just try to focus on my own total, as long as that's going up I'm good!
INB4 Dad goes to 120+ kg weight class
would look great in a singlet.
Brandon my man!

Really jealous of that A7 bargrip shirt man, they aren’t available anywhere
Yeah I've been lucky enough to have like 10 of them lol
125kg would be a good weight class for you given your frame. Check-out Pisarenko.
Haha if only it were that easy!
Do you cut at all for your meets?
Haven't had to
BBC turning into a BBW. I'm in
one day you may
Bro you already have my girls interest with skyrim...don't get jacked man. All joking aside I agree man, when I started a weight gain (somewhat controlled) I felt I felt so much better, but then got out of hand and it threw everything off (I assume by changing leverages and my energy levels were shit). Good luck dude!
Yeah that's one thing Bryce has said to be careful of doing (leverages).
I hate gaining weight, whether fat or muscle because I keep having to let my wl
belt out another notch.
Hah the struggle is real
I'm 6'7 and 270 at 16%bf
nice!
0:32 SOLD
lol
Thanks dude! My worry about gaining too much too quick also has to do with potentially changing leverages, but we'll see what happens.
Tall lanky and doesn't look like I lift crew checking in. I know the struggles bro, good vid!
Thanks Ant

Good luck with the " bulk " Brandon
Thanks dude!
So, the scale had you at 19%. I know you probably don't care as much about such things but do you think your actual BF would be above or below that? I would think your more around 14-15
I think likely somewhere in between that. 17% or so?
Weight classes are really height classes
We'll see what happens!
very high profiling strophiling. woo. go up that class!
To be the man you got to beat the man, woo!
Gotta get that powerlifting girth
dat girth life
Leave USAPL. Do RPS or SPF. Go 242. Join the dark side!
320 Brandon.....go
just get fat, its worth it
lol
120+
