@@saca199602to be fair, it makes sense for saryn to be a bit expensive during those times where she's vaulted. Not 400p, but I could see her going for 200p easily since she's a highly sought after frame and not in high supply
@@saca199602 By definition it isnt a scam, but telling someone "They took advantage of your lack of knowledge to screw you out of money" is much longer than just "you got scammed". Its become almost an coloquial definition to not only mean "You were ACTUALLY scammed" but also to mean "You were taken advantage of"
@@davey-jaysteele3466 it’s almost like the whole point of trading isnt holding multiple items for a long time to sell them for a price worth the hold. Trading currency literally works the same way
Ive made WTB posts with prices a little lower than average, and then recieved both offers for that price, and angry messages saying im an idiot and that nobody will sell it for that low.
Yep sometimes i'll post a wtb lower than the lowest price on wf market and still get sellers.
Because a lot of player are children when i tell someone trying to sell me the last prime warframe i am missing inaros prime for 150p and i tell him i can get gim for 50 easily it mean i can gett him for 50 and had offer from multiple player
I wtb an item for 45p the other day, with lowest price on market being 48.
Somebody messages me that they will sell it for 55, because lowest price is 50 and that nobody will sell it to me for that.
When I asked why they won't sell it for 50 then I got ignored 😂
@@jayelex2459 This is fine cause you are someone who is actually there, and not a buyer or seller you have to DM and who might then be afk. Convenience is worth something, that is why buy and sell orders exist on .market too.
Most of my sells in trade chat are replying to WTB. Some ppl are so greedy they end up wasting more time trying to sell one item for a non-negotiable price when they could have sold 5.
I still find it hilarious how people will sell prime sets for insane prices like over 150p - 300p but go to warframe market or trade chat to buy the pieces separately and you'll tend to get everything under 100p
This was my most surprising discovery. I just came back from LONG hiatus, due to cross save linking my PC with my old PS4 account. I still remember the day a rhino prime set was worth 300p in trade chat! Obviously its been a really long time, but hes dropped to 90 on warframe market roughly. I thought "oh, thats because he's old, the newer ones will be more expensive still, multiple hundred"
NOPE! They were also under 100p for full sets! Managed to snag quite a few sets of frames I thought were going to be hard af to get since they are vaulted. and now I have a good chunk of parts and sets to sell myself because plenty of these sets I had half of on PS4 and the other half on PC! LOL
People don't understand when you want something now and you're willing to pay Platinum for it that's what it is it's not about overpaying it's not about underpaying it's about getting what you want at a price that you're comfortable with. As long as you are comfortable with the price everybody is a winner.

@@D34doneTTVto be fair, rn, and for like last month, about 14 vaulted primes have been unvaulted and are available through prime resurgence. So rn, prime sets are about as cheap as they can get. Prices HAVE dropped, however the recent events have dropped them even lower

The real scam in trade chat is the amount of time you waste trying to get anything done in it

When I started, mind it I am a new player, started in December, if u can research u can actually haggle down the price in trade chat, sure there are inflated prices, but there are also players who want to get rid of the stuff to make some quick plat, so yea overall do your research, u can get some good deals or get ripped.
I am definitely one of those traders that just want to move stuff because I hate trading. I’ve given away many a Warframe just because I have too many

Been playing since the beta. Have never used trade chat and only rarely/reluctantly bought anything using Warframe Market (never sold anything). Would give almost anything for a traditional auction house where I could buy and sell without having to "interact". I play games to get away from people! :)
Same. An auction house would make things a lot more comfortable and also help to eliminate issues such as people posting fake offers on the market in order to influence item values.
thing is an auction house in game would probably tank DE's platinum profits because more players would be earning it ingame rather than spending. not that im against the idea, i just think it'll take some brainstorming to figure that system out without causing players to stop buying plat.

We need an in-game auction house.
We have a lot of market manipulation in wf market, ghost offering just to lower the price for the same person to buy it cheap fron those whom bite the bait and lower the price.
In the other hand, no one would buy plat if we had an in-game auction house. But, I think we could reach a middle ground by item links displaying the last 10 trades involving that item on the right corner so the player could see what the actual trades look like.
90% of the warframe player base doesn't actually know the definition of "scam"
Oh speaking of Maroo's bazaar, I had a guy report me (presumably on WFMarket, but if he was using WFM why was he standing around Maroo's for?) for canceling his trade. He was standing directly in front of Maroo as I was trying to start the weekly hunt, and I must have misclicked him. But the weird thing is, I was already in Maroo's dialogue menu when it pulled me into his trade! No idea how that happened.
My main use for trade chat is buying normal mods.
I think people are less likely to go through the effort of a dot market listing for really small sales and you can definitely grab a mod off someone looking to make fast plat from a big collection for cheap off trade chat.

I don't care about the prices. i'm a lr4 beta founder. I'm not buying anything from the players. I don't use trade chat because in a time it takes me to unload a 200p set i can unload 12 of these sets for 70-100 p. I trade once in two-three weeks for 40 minutes, spend all my trades and walk out with like 1-4k plat
I bought a prime part for a lot more than it was worth because I was impatient. Turns out, I was also stupid because I already had that part (two systems request in one message when one was neuro).
Obviously, I can’t resell it at the same price because it’s worth less so I have to keep telling myself that it’s value in ducats is more than buying directly. Even that barely helps….
Trade chat is like that wall street place where everyone is standing in the room yelling about money & you cant hear a thing.
I'm not new to warframe by a long shot but when it comes to trade chat I still barely understand it
So TLDR; trade chat is trash.
Also just had an interaction in the Bazaar where a older player was selling frames way overvalue, trying to convince newer players to buy it from him. Absolutely embarassing that the trade community has bad actors like this.
Trade chat shot my dad, married my mom the next day, poisoned my grandpa, and turned my dog into a burrito with no cilantro
I just want to say ty for your channel. It really helps to have straight facts to analyze. Your Voruna Video sure helped me figure out why my melee wasnt doing the damage i thought it should be even with a "good" riven. So I appreciate that.
I came back to the game 2 weeks ago and since i had a lot of plat lying around i decided to buy a bunch of primes i was missing, every time i tried to use chat instead of warframe market they asked for no less than double or triple of what was listed in warframe market, so after the third thing i just stopped using chat completely and just used warframe market, not only the price was way lower but it was also faster because as soon as i pm'd the seller they would instantly invite me to their dojo to trade.
I'm pretty sure the reason DE hasn't implemented an auction house yet is because being pretty close to a perfect competition market it leads to massive deflation, so people would need less platinum and they would make less money.
I just wish there was an in game auction house like nearly every MMO for the past two+ decades.
Just yesterday saw a dude trying to sell a subpar Latron Riven for 2000 Plat when the current median is ~500 for good rolls and the absolute max that any have actually sold at in the past 90 days were for God rolls at 1200-1300 Plat.
Called him out immediately. Any time you see people putting absolutely insane prices on their trades call them out and make sure other people that might be seeing trade chat know they can find it elsewhere for far less

I only use trade chat for selling rivens as I can get them sold faster, due to me wanting to free space more than getting platium so if get less than what it worth so be it.

hell the fact 80-90% of the players don't even dare to haggle is a little depressing.
the chat window has also become unstable to even read more than half the time b/c it moves too fast.
I once bought a mod for 1/3 of its market price, 25p down from 75p. I never saw a deal like that again.
Trade chat forgets that trading in this game is a buyers market.
Your plat is worth SO much more than them holding onto a set in their inventory and too many new players don't realize that they hold the power in negotiating.
There is a far more massive supply than their is demand. You should never be paying more than 50plat for a prime.
Another thing I've noticed quite frequently in Trade Chat - If a seller posts a price for a riven, you'll more often receive messages saying "It's not worth that much" or something along those lines in order to deceive you into selling low so they can sell high and make a profit.
I don't believe Trade Chat is a scam especially since there is not real set prices on items, it's just the general price as to what people are willing to pay for them. The downside to this is it creates a toxic environment where people just want a shortcut to thousands or tens of thousands of Platinum - hence greed.

I'll admit I don't use market for much more than price checking, but I like using trade chat specifically as a buyer. The whole point of buying items with plat is to avoid grind and save time, and it's very convenient to have people make offers directly to you that can be discussed and accepted in seconds. In my experience a lot of the more predatory behaviors come from the people who are putting up sell listings in trade chat. I think tc is best utilized by buyers listing offers and sellers making their offers in dms.
tbh i just use trade chat to ocasinaly to snipe some offers if i´m paying attention to it because it isnt my main focus. Usually getting something like 10% better offers like sell price on wm 50p and chat 55p. Also trade chat is good for a quick buck like selling veiled rivens which get sold almost instantly for the wm price.
It's not a scam in the legal sense, but it's certainly a hustle in the colloquial sense.
Also I kind of want to get you started on Maroo's Bazaar, that place is utterly incomprehensible to me.
The problem is. It's an open market with open prices. And nothing set in stone. So when somebody says its on warframe market for so and so price. It's like so. That's doesn't mean that's the absolute price. That's where actually research comes in. Learn what's meta, Groll or even rare mods
Yes. Trade chat is a scam especially for new players the amount of times ive put up a WTB, get a DM of a plat price and then go to Warframe market to verify the price only to be shocked that on there the price is half or sometimes a quarter of the price that the DMs are asking is crazy, if i was a new player and didnt know any better i would be getting ripped off. When i bring this up to the people and say hey listen check warframe market i either get one of two responses 'fuk off' *player ignores you* or "oh well then just buy it from there im too lazy to price compare" the games community is great but a good amount of trade chat is a dark spot on the community.
My justification to why it is a scam is becuase it is deceitful to trick an ignorant new player. Imo. Lets say someone moves to america for the first time and a store clerk realizes they can up charge that person for x amount over other customers because that person is ignorant to how this new currency works id argue that those are both the same. Now you are correct that most of the time its not a scam but for new players who arent aware it most certainly is when people who upcharge are looking for people who dont know what warframe marketplace is and are trying to get extra off of them.
There’s a 40% markup trading between Warframe market and trade chat. Reselling high value arcanes etc. is a great way to make plat off of players who are too lazy to check prices

i remember despising people selling Ignis Wraith back when only 3 clans had it. Pretty sure all those clans were in agreement to never sell those bps for plat because of how unfair the situation was yet some clan members tried.

Using wf market does not work on xbox. Xbox easily has the lowest amount of players so often times when you look something up on wf market there is no one online selling/buying the item. I primarily sell, so I go based off of wf market trends.
Also, half the people not listing prices is understandable because wf has 180 character limit in trade chat. I list a lot of stuff so I don't have room to list my prices.
Sometimes I don’t put a price when I’m wtb because when I do I don’t get offers which makes me think I’m going to low. So I just put the item I wtb and go for values I see in the market that are within 15p difference
I _despise_ Player Economies, and have a love-hate relationship with IRL resale: everyone either overhypes or over values what they have on offer. It’s far too difficult to find quality stuff at a fair price.
For example: I collect a Star Wars vehicle toyline made by Jazwares. They have the smallest of vehicles (bikes, mini walkers, gliders, etc) in blind box format, selling for US$6 a pop. I was looking for one of the _common_ items in the second wave. I found a single eBay listing. For around US$40. Forty US dollars for a two-inch tall toy that cost far less at actual retail.
Just the other day, I was at a second-hand Lego shop. They had an old Rock Raiders set from 1999 in its original packaging (obviously opened, but the set was complete and had instructions). $300. For a set that cost MAYBE $50 at retail, if I’m extremely generous in my estimate.
This is why I loathe resellers and Player Markets. Overhyped, over valued.
ive literally never used trade chat, i always use warframe market because its very easy to see what the going rate for something is and just buy it, and people will always sell under the going rate to just sell it as fast as possible which is even better for me, with trade chat you have no idea what something is worth and you can easily get "scammed" or "bamboozled"
also i also go with that same tactic of selling it for the lowest price so i can get someone to buy it as quickly as possible, they get a good deal , i get my plat fast
I dont get trade chat. Just imagine beeing infront of a supermarket. You could just go in and do your groceries. Or you could climb ontop of the roof to argue with someone that bought the groceries downstairs selling it for twice the price.
2 days ago a mr9 was crying to me that he jumped at the chance to sell his Sentient surge(ocucor augment) for 35p its painful when i see the spammers trying to buy ceramic dagger and torid rivens for 200
I use trade chat because it's quick. Look up the item value ahead of time, bump up buying price by 5%, and I can usually buy what I want in less than 5 minutes. Having to go through the Warframe market chat and coordinate in game always feels longer to me.
I'mma be honest, if it's within my budget, I can't care any less if they're selling it above rate, most of the time the "scam" is 40 plat above average price, 140 instead of 100.
all I care is that people can satiate my demand, and I get dozens of offers when I ask to buy a specific thing, that's enough for me.

The worst part of trade chat is that when I want to sell something and put up a legitimately fair selling price based on warframe market, everybody just assumes I'm scamming them and either ignores it or tries to lowball me by 50%. I'm not even doing any scummy prices, yet I feel like I'm getting punished because of how other people act there.
Oh thank god I’m not the only one who feels this way, there time I was sell galvanized mods for a reasonable prince unrank and people will try to buy it a fully rank one at the same low price or just expect you to give essentially 1mil creds and 40k endo of your work for 30p and get mad that your trying to “scam” them even though you were honest about everything with them
I've been starting to use market to use average or low price on r5 arcanes. 100p is my usual trade. Everything else is like 5p 10p. If I got it and don't need it and someone else does, have it.
The problem is rivens, you can’t sell them on warframe market because they’re sorted by price so people usually only buy the cheapest one (usually a zero roll) so if you have a good riven you want to sell it’s nearly impossible to find a trade partner
It's not impossible. First off, don't price your rivens only based off what other people are selling similar rolls for. Click on their listing and check how long the riven listing has been up for. If it's been up for several weeks then you want to price your riven lower. If it's been up for months, then price your riven substantially lower. Decent rivens for meta weapons will sell very quickly. I roll rivens for non-meta weapons a lot but they actually include some decent weapons, not those that were released 10 years ago which almost nobody uses.
It's also good to have some knowledge of the game because some of the classic "godrolls" aren't godrolls for every frame which uses that weapon. A Kullervo with 400%+ ability strength does not want Critical Chance on a riven at all for example. Voruna gives a decent amount of critical damage by using her 1 for example, but rolling a only crit damage on a riven for a weapon with bad crit chance might be bad. Say your weapon's crit damage is 2x and Voruna boosts it by 8x resulting in a multiplier of 10x. With this build, if you're weapon can't reach 200% CC it's better to roll for a CC riven. If you're weapon easily reaches higher CC then it's best to not include CC in the riven but opt for something else.

I really wish this game had an auction house. Maybe with a set number of items on sale to prevent scalping, but I think it would streamline experience for people.
While I’m relatively new I found my self selling warframe sets and other convenient items. I never type wts in chat just what look for the wtb I’ll never understand how people are selling items that are 30+ let alone 100 above market value. While I get the crumbs I find I don’t have to spend all day in trade chat just after cracking a poop load of relics and selling other things gets me a decent amount of p.
What I don’t understand is those who go for the deals that are like saryn 200p or revant 140p like I’d rather use up all my trades rather then spending 2 hours scamming somone to buy a set above market value. And still have a bunch of trades. Just a waste of time.
The amount of people in tradechat that don't know about warframe market is crazy. Its why it is a perpetual predatory trade hub. Until warframe integrates a proper auction house, nothing will change, and new players that don't know better will continue to blow unreasonable amounts of plat on 100p intensify

yeah generally be aware of the trade chat. I sometimes sell my rivens that i just want to get rid off there, that said i always price them a bit under since i just want it done with. I'm def not the majority though.
We've been asking for a separate riven chat channel since they came out. So many people asking for what they can charge for it, asking which stats to choose as well as asking an arm and a leg for one. Absolutely idiotic prices on some of these items. Many won't even put a price on it and ask you to give them an offer. And if its not in the range of what they have in mind, its all anger and insults. "its clearly worth X amount more than your offer. I've been offered Y price for it. You are clearly an idiot if you think its worth less than Z" You could just say what you wanted for it then!
while WFM is great, i really wish we had a ingame marketplace/auction house like almost every single other similar MMO has
Honestly warframe market place is a better tool for trading you can gauge a better average starting point for your things and you don’t actively have to announce all your the things your selling or buying your also not competing as much
trade chat is fine, but it's easy to get taken advantage of without proper knowledge. Rivens are never worth going for the perfect roll when you can just get one and roll yourself. I personally go to warframe market and ask within 5-10% of the price in the trade chat.
All the "PM offer"s I saw in trade chat was what turned me off of it. _I_ don't know what things go for so I'm not going to be the one offering just to be turned down when someone who already has a price in mind is offended by my guess. Imagine going to the grocery store and being asked by the cashier how much you are willing to pay for your selection.
If I see “pmo”, I just keep scrolling period.
I dont really sell much stuff other than like cheap prime parts which only sells on wf market anyway but if i see someone asking for like idk gauss prime neuroptics for 20 plat, im gonna sell it to them for 20 plat.
basically, it's an age-old case of a word being abused so hard by overly-emotional people that it's losing it's original meaning. you can hold whatever opinion you want about trade chat, but calling it a scam is just objectively wrong.
People using warframe market as a standard should consider that what other people value their things for are not what all people value their things for and that if you want to buy something for "the average (median or mean) price" then you should message the people on warframe market's listings instead of barging into trade chat and demanding people lower their prices. Nobody is arguing sellers should raise their prices if they're below the average after all.
This consumer side equivalent of price fixing doesn't acknowledge that not everyone has the historical price graph open on some second monitor or whatever but that'd take people considering others along with cause and effect in the field of economics in the first place huh?
Least scammy trade chat offer will literally be like "WTS grendel prime 200p" or "WTS stug acricon 5000p"
before cross save was added i could trade and sell with ease, but since then i can barely get message in the trade chat before its over run with bs riven prices. i rarely see anyone trying to buy anything at a reasonable price too. trade chat is just in its phase were everyone needs plat and doesn't wanna spend any. console btw so going out of my way to mess with warframe market is tedious,
Warframe needs an auction house ingame. PoE just showed how bad and dangerous this system can get. It is a cancer. Even if not a literal scam by dictionary definition, they are deceiving new players, and warframe already has a problem in keeping new players, not protecting them just adds to the pile.
I love people that defend trade chat and say "Warframe market isn't a definitive price I can list it for whatever I want."
Yeah it's not definitive but atleast it's consistent.

I understand why Warframe Market can't be officially integrated as part of the game, but it's a shame we have to leave newbies to the scam hunting ground that is Trade Chat.
1:55 sadly switch players dont have that option and can only trade items for items, 2:30 not laziness most of the time its just ignorance of the available ways to check prices

Warframe market is what ruined trade chat. Before WM a vendor and a buyer could just easily negotiate a price that was comfortable for the both of them but now a buyer will come along and tell you what it's going for in the market and I'm like bro I don't care about how much it's going for in the market I'm a unique vendor with unique prices some things I sell cheaper than Warframe market and some things I sell more expensive than Warframe market depending on how much effort I personally had to put into it.

Imo it would be nice if there was an auction house system in the game for more stable trading, and i think the location would be at maroo bazaar.

the only thing i use trade chat for is when my offers on wf market dont sell and i want to earn plat. i just post the same price as wf market and its faster most of the time. Same goes for market price buy offers.

When I am using the trade chat, I ALWAYS have warframe market open on my browser for last minutr checking.
Being careful while using tools is the best way to handle that imo.

See thats where you are mistaken there might be an average price, but thats kind of irrelevant because it comes down to how badly the buyer wants the item and how many/how much the item is worth to the seller. Now don't get me wrong theres people out there that do rip people off.
My best trade from trade chat was me selling my pyrana riven with crit damage, damage, and multishot with minus zoom. Guy gave me 2.2k platinum for it aswell as gave me a tombfinger riven with crit chance and crit damage. Best trade I ever made and all i said in trade chat was PMO.
I used to do alot of riven trading on the market and made a good amount, but the riven market is awful these days, anything that isnt a groll is ignored and when you do have a great roll you are still low balled like crazy. I have switched over to just selling regular mods and primed mods. Riven market is just a waste now lol
I see so many "grolls" for like 3k plus, and they are usually pretty mid. I've seen an actual groll like twice
Trade chat is bad but it is useful when you want to sell prime parts in bulk when you aren't in need of ducats and that 20 plat for a slot or two.
I usually buy low in WFM and sell 10p higher in chat for a convenience fee, which makes me earn 170p per day.
Where does new player learn about WFmarket? Where does the game say it? Unless u get into clan or have friends playing that chance is pretty low. Soo someone selling Revenant prime set for 195 while it's worth 40 is scam targeting new players. Same players who have low chance to know there is way better place to buy stuff.
The amount of people marking up prices way beyond warframe market. Even if you can argue this is fine, I’ve yet to find a fair competitive price.

Warframe market can have skewed prices at times, like bronze pieces being way more expensive than silver pieces or buying the set being more expensive than the individual pieces
WF Market is a good place to find an average price of an item. I usually price and sell stuff somewhere in the middle of whats on WF market
Gauss Prime’s release was really funny because of how quickly his price dropped down due to everyone wanting to farm for him, and how pissy people trying to sell him got.
Meanwhile me rolling in 100 copies of blood rush and rime rounds smoking a cig watching trade chat burn as i get a msg every 30 mins from someone off WF makret for selling 1 p under the other cheapest dude

Ehhh a better example is Baruuk Prime. Was selling 400, 300p at release and I sold like 2 sets. The next day he was 100p with the highest being 120p. It was such a stark contrast

2: The truley unhinged prices Primed Chamber used to go for
3; I sold someone a Valkyr Chassis i believe and immediatley saw them try to flip it for double
people that offer 1 plat cause 'no one wants that'
I have a good one, I was trying to buy a magus lockdown set since I came back to the game and still don’t have fortuna leveled after all these years, but the first hit I get the guy asks for 1500p… I asked for clarification that he just said 1500p for an r5 magus lockdown set. He confirms… I try to give him the benefit of the doubt thinking he maybe meant 150 and didn’t realize, but no he doubled down and said 1200 😂
I once saw someone asking for a rank 0 arcane (can’t remember which one; a single arcane from vox or the quills that only cost 10,000 standing at most) for 200p.
Let’s just say that person *definitely* didn’t get “scammed.” I just made an “informed trade” (according to this video) and they made an “uninformed trade.” 😆 seriously though RIP that guy’s 200 plat.

I just bought a prime chamber for 345plat. Its a collectors item kinda, and its nice for the vectis since ive got a pretty good -mag riven with multi shot and crit damage. Primed chamber being 3000 ducats also probably had something to do with it. I also am kinda fuzzy on the prices you were referring to as being "unhinged"
