- 69Beats, the 2016 Red Bull Thre3style Poland Champion, shows off his skills on DJcityTV's first "Tone Play" episode in nearly three years. The 28-year-old is known for his well-executed tone play routines, which helped him win the Poland championship.

Its dope and all! I really love how single pitch play goes, but i think it kind of removes the real essence and fun of tone playing which is getting parts from the original track and matching it with others rather than having all the possibilities in the world with one cue point. but hey! I love it too
Single pitch point tone play is dope. Traktor can be mapped to control an entire octave up and down. I do this with an Akai mpk mini mkII and it works great. Its similar to the pitch & time plug-in in Serato but more expansive. 69 Beats pretty much has this technique mastered. I'd say he's the best in the whole Red Bull family.

@sixtyninebeats is too ill! Using his style of mapping on traktor now, but I'm guessing at around 0:38 those were cue point mapped instead of mappings to the key? Cause scratching with the keylock on doesn't sound as good as it did in this video.
Yes it does :) You just have to do it nice and slow, cause the faster you scratch the more distorted it sounds while keylock is ON. Also you have to have a good computer that can handle it and the correct settings in the setup.

The drumming is very robotic and the 1/32 notes are too much for me. I'm nitpicking though. Don't sweat it.
Fancy is pretty out of rotation in the U.S. too. I don't think people are really feeling it too much these days. It's kinda like Macklemore, especially in his home state. Out The Speakers got ran into the ground in the U.S. because of a huge Mountain Dew ad campaign where this ridiculous deer jumped out of a wall.
I'm not hating though. Everything is very musical.

all these tutorials for noobs and truck loads of equipment is killing the magic of a dj IMO. That's why I love cats like j rocc and craze been doin this same shit with only 2 pieces of vinyl for years.

Craze switched to digital a while ago... He even has some sort of tone play routine...
I wasn't knocking digital I was knocking the fact that cats like you have to have a truckload of gear and do simple shit that really dosent call for 6 tons of gear.
i where does craze do shit like that, link or doesnt exist, this guy is playing fucking melodies. i love craze but their styles are different this is it. 2 extra midi controllers=/= 6 tons of gear, move with time or be forgotten craze got it you dont
