Okay so, the reason why you get more coins when you die is because you moved a lot.
If you just use an elastic band and be a peashooter and do it around the triangle button you Will get 9700 coins on Zen Peak

It's better to play gnome bomb and let the AI finish the game. Every game is between 3-5 mins and get 6-7 thousand coins just keep using you L1 ability. I recommend empeach or bean bomb.

John Bart just start a private game With plants and no zombies. Put gnome bomb and any map and crazy difficulty. Let the ai plant all the gnomes and you just sit and spam your L1 ability ( I play on PS4 so might be different for you). I've tested it with all the plants. You don't have to move just use your ability every time it's get off cool down. You eat an average of 6400 coins per game. Over an hour you can make over 100,000 coins. You don't have to pay attention to game really just keep your controller in your hand and repeatedly press L1.

I tried it out. It works with spaming every ability except a few ones like citrons ball or cactus' drone. You'll earn a bit over 6000 coins but only if you play as a plant. Strangely its less if you play as a zombie. But in the end it's pretty much as effective as the exploit I showed in the video above 😄

Could you just play Turf Takeover... you get like 20,000 or more in a single match....plus gives you tons of XP per kill and if you build stuff as a rose or engineer and you can destroy a robot or even crash a party at the Z-Academy with toilet paper, but the matches can last to 10 minutes or less but you get tons of money, I once had like 40 kills I got 50,000 coins, I say it's good for grinding if you want tons of XP and money.

Do no plants or zombies in both teams then choose the quickest plant or zombie and start a suburbination yourself you'll get 10k coins each time you play and just use your abilities I believe that being active earns slightly more

that trick is better on consoles because on pc the game thinks that if you do nothing for a little bit about 5 minutes it will kick you off the servers so then you have to load into the game again so on pc that method is pretty bad because you have to be doing stuff =( also I'm on pc and my username is RX7T so friend me if you want to.

I found a REALLY good way to get coins is go on garden ops select solo play the select easy or hard mode if you have these characters then choose them: torchwood stuffy flower toxic or fire pea and zen cactus then just play loads of matches and you’ll get about 20,000 - 30,000 coins!

There is a glitch which allows you to do missions on the opposite team in the backyard, if you do the quest to find the secret door locator as a plant you can walk right into your base and get 2500 coins, rinse and repeat
This gets you about 2500 coins every 1-2 minutes
