- In 2009 the Amsterdam ArenA hosted two major concerts of the Irish band U2, four days later the Amsterdam ArenA was hosting four football teams for the Amsterdam ArenA Football Tournament. An amazing change of sets made in record time and only possible in a venue with the highest operational standards.Enjoy

Love these mammoth, complex, large scale events.
Ich habe zwei Konzerte der Tour live gesehen, Berlin und Hannover. Die Bühne war so beeindruckend, in Hannover ragte sie über das Stadion hinaus, man konnte sie schon von weitem sehen.

Podium was van Belgische makelij (Stageco)! Er werden 3 identieke podia voor gebruikt die elk 220 ton wogen en vervoert werden met 38 vrachtwagens!

Best thing I can say about this…I appreciate all the employment it afforded the hundreds of designers, fabricators, drivers, crane operators and skilled crewmen and women. I only wish all this effort was for better music.

Somewhat break-even after 60 shows.
I was at one of the shows. Ticket prices were outrageous. Luckily, my ticket was free. I pay to see a band, not a stage.

@@hernamfSome tickets were expensive (at the time), others were very cheap (€40). Compared to today's prices for Springsteen and Taylor Swift they were a bargain...

@@Tommi6810 Dude, we are talking about playing music with two guitars and a drum. No, I don't believe you need an army of people, dozens of trucks, piercing concrete floors and tons of steel to do that. Back in the Joshua Tree times they didn't need that. Compensating, are we now?

Rammstein, Böhse Onkelz, schau dir mal diese Bühnen an und die Bands bestehen auch nicht aus einem Dutzend von Musikern. U2 hat letztens in Las Vegas im Sphere Konzerte gegeben. Wenn es dir nicht gefällt, dann ist das Geschmackssache, aber das mit den alten Männern halte ich für unpassend. Ob man so eine große Bühne für die 4 Leute braucht, darüber kann man diskutieren. Ich habe zwei Konzerte der Tour gesehen, die Bühne war fantastisch, beeindruckend, mir hat es sehr gut gefallen. Jushua Tree war 1987, da hast du jetzt aber auch ganz weit in der Vergangenheit gesucht. Bei der Popmart Tour 1997 hatten sie auch eine große Bühne, da war Bono 37 Jahre alt, sprich noch kein alter Mann, also hat es bei U2 nichts mit dem Alter der Bandmitglieder zu tun, nur darauf wollte ich hinaus.

Two universally accepted classic albums, a 100+ million plus album sales, and the 360 tour still one of the highest attendance and grossing tours per night ever (adjusted for inflation) more than a decade on says otherwise...
