About time we finally get to the New Age movement, which the game have well foreshadowed more than a couple of times up to this point.. To give you a bit of background, New Age movement in a sense is a radical reactionary form of a "Zeitgeist" of its time, a "free market" of spiritual ideas and an amalgamation of beliefs (syncreticism) that values subjectivism or a more democratic form of spiritual freedom for the individuals themselves, aimed to bring an "Age of Aquarius". And so they are of course against the prevalent Western values and rationalism, like the absolute moral value of the Judeo-Christian religion (to which in no time the Christian church have labeled the movement as a threat). A classic belief of the New Agers is that the material world is indeed an illusion (sounds familiar?), that some of the believers might find the world only be the "domain of learning and growth", only a "level" (hence perhaps the video game motif of this chapter?) in order to reach on to a higher level of existence or consciousness, together with the belief that the whole existence of the universe emanates from a single origin. For that reason, someone could even claim that: "The nature of the universe flows in all things alike.", as 37 and 6 once mentioned. In intuiting that perhaps there might be an important and implicit correlation to the New Age movement and to the main story of Reverse 1999, one might raise some important questions regarding the subject. Is this esoteric amalgamation of beliefs have some correlation and roots from Platonism like the eternal Forms and the Allegory of the Cave? How about Hinduism like the Atman of the Upanishads in regards to a form of an eternal Self-the "ultimate essence of the universe"? Or most possibly, what about Gnosticism? In the belief of the people (or arcanists in this context) who attained Gnosis (the direct knowledge of God) are a higher form of being, held as the principal element of salvation that through their penetrative "insight" alone they could escape this world of suffering? Is there truly a connection to all this?? But maybe.. just maybe.. as history is a form of a blueprint we can trace back, and consequently so does different kind of ideology, philosophy, religions, and cultures too. If we dig further, it could be that we may find some deep hidden connection, some "Truth" within once we examine them all carefully and exhaustively..

I remember it being Melania and the cute Dog with the hippie guy, then the Halloween event with that thicc 5 star blonde character lol, and then the Tooth Fairy arc. Then I took a break and came back when 37 first arrived. And now I return for the 1st anniversary events 😂 If I’m wrong, maybe the storm got me. Oh no… Atleast Schneider won’t be alone 💀
