Short sighted, self-centered, think they know everything, every little nothing in their life is a world ending crisis, pains in the A. Sometimes the "teens" on this show nail it to a tee.
I get Aaron on Cudlitz’s casting as Lex, but to me, he looks more like Lex from the animated shows and movies. Eric feels a similar way about Batfleck.
They could be gearing up for this : Death of Superman; cut to break; return with season 4; start with the family having to deal with the absence of Superman, and Jordan needing to step up as Super Boy, leading to the attitude adjustment he needs, perhaps leaning into his need for recognition; Superman resurected; obligatory "I've had to replace Superman while you were dead / You can't just come back and expect things to go back to normal" conflict; resolution.
To me, this looks like a Lex Luthor that grew up in Smallville and then got rich somehow, but he's still got that farmboy build. It's a very different take, but I'm willing to give it a chance. I do wish he hadn't had the beard on the way in, but the actor probably wasn't willing to shave it, and I don't blame him, that probably took YEARS to grow out like that.
No idea why all the tv Lex Luthers post Smallville have beards. First Supergirl, then Titans, now this. Oddly, it works for this version, having just gotten out of prison.
I haven't seen Lois and Clark fully explain the dangers of identity reveal to Jordan. It's usually once he leaves the room. He doesnt want to keep his identity from the world aevret until he is Clarks reveal age (understable). So they should be teaching him aecrecy but allow him to be a full on hero. Something that drives me up the wall is that everyone's giving Jordan grief about potentially revealing the truth, but realistically, there shouldn't be a secret to protect; _Clark doesn't even wear a fucking mask._ All of the justifications the writers have attempted to use are all crap. They have the same face. That's it; end of discussion. The world should've known who Superman was within days of his first appearance. Another thing is that I don't see anything wrong with Jordan's wanting credit. If you do something good, wanting recognition doesn't make you a bad person. And interacting with the public might make him more approachable than Superman. Would that really be so bad?
Right, it has been annoying me too. Jordan wears a mask and hood to hide his identity and people are acting like the public will automatically be able to identify him instantly. How? Because the writers have clumsily put it into the dialogue or gave some crappy idea that someone will track his flight patterns. While also ignoring the amount of times Clark has flown away from and to the house in costume and out of costume. They also keep tying together the idea that Lex would find out who Jordan is and then find out Clark is Superman somehow. Lex is on a path of vengeance against Lois and Superman. He went to their house, knows everything about their lives. So their lives and secrets are already in danger and it's not because of Jordan. He already kidnapped and possibly killed Sam Lane just to get to Lois. Jordan or the Samaritan is not even on his radar. He's going to end up being an asset to the family and they'll have to rely heavily on him next season. I agree with your last point too. Maybe if Jordan got that positive reinforcement from his parents, he wouldn't seek the superficial approval of complete strangers. All he gets from Lois and Clark is lectures, strict rules, and gets yelled at. At that age Clark was stopping burglars and defying his mother's rules. Then he flew off for years to find himself and decide who and what he wanted to be. Why not give that same courtesy and encouragement to Jordan. Let him decide what he wants to do and why; don't just tell him you can only save people for the same reasons that I [Clark] do it. He's eager to be trained to help his father and they should let him figure out his own motivations for doing so.
@@thescream18 Clark seems set on the idea that someone can only be a hero for specific reasons. Which makes no sense, and it drives me crazy that no one will ever call him out on it. I hate it when writers push a specific agenda like that.
@@kathrynhoward4196 Right, and it has to be his reasons. What's worse is that he took one comment, misinterpreted it and decided that everything Jordan is doing is for attention. Of all the times he saved his family and strangers without asking for any praise, now all of a sudden all he wants is fame. It's ridiculous. The writers didn't set it up enough for me to believe that. Clark had issue with Jordan putting himself out there and taking risks. He's being overprotective because he can't help Lois fight cancer, so he's jumping on this crap as an excuse to keep Jordan from using his powers.
@@kathrynhoward4196 You might be able to find the clip, but it's in this episode when Clark and Lois confront Jordan about his supposed bragging. Jordan says something along the lines of he was wearing the mask that covered his face and what did it matter if he got a little credit.
Every time Luthor looked at that photo of the little girl I am like 'please be his daughter, please be his daughter". Then he said he had a daughter. Phew
Sam isn’t returning next season, Lana, Kyle, Sarah, Chrissy, John nor Natalie are returning next season. They will probably be cast as other actors as part of budget cuts.
Jordan not giving a damn about putting his mother and brother at risk of being killed is infuriating. Just so he can feel seen and special?!? He's not a little boy, so he should be able to see the bigger picture, especially when his dad is Superman and he's already seen what villains knowing who they really are results in. Does he not remember Uncle Tal kidnapping him or his brother almost getting absorbed by his doppelganger?
@@RichardH.MysticJessieFan6425 The more public he is, the easier it would be for people (especially villains) to figure out who he is. Sure he's invincible, but his family isn't. *"The mask is not for you, it's to protect the people you care about"*
I was on Jordan’s side when Sarah told Lana about what he said at school, I thought everyone WAY overreacted. Then he just starts posing for pictures like nothing matters. Wasn’t he freaking out because he THOUGHT George saw him a few episodes ago? It feels a bit out of character for him to suddenly stop caring. Hopefully there aren’t any major consequences, but I’m really worried about Sam potentially being caught in crossfire or Lex learning Clark and Jordan’s identities.
@@alexthrailkill The reason why he changed was because of his ego when he realize people refer to him as a 'Smallville Samaritan'. Being an outcast his whole life, the new popularity got in his head.
My god, i didnt even recognise TWD's Abraham as Lex w/o the red hair lol. Now i cant unsee it. But the casting in this show is so good I'm sure all he'll be to me by s4 is lex. Before the pilot I was super skeptical about bittsie and Tyler bc of their roles in grimm and teen wolf respectively, but now they ARE my superman/clark and lois lol. Especially Tyler as Clark, he absolutely nails it.
I’m not sure what’s scarier, angsty teen Jordan shrugging off and staring down Clark or hungry zombified Bizarro Superman. Luther follows up as second scariest.
Probably the wrong take but I feel like Clark's parenting strategy has gone too far into Superman territory. Not saying I would know in the moment but looking back... Kyle was right about the hazing thing, especially when no-one else is doing it and Clark had no right to interfere without notice. Sarah just wanted to vent, Lana didn't need to do anything. Objectively; Lois COMEPLETELY ruined Lex's life and still doesn't feel sorry (still trying to justify it). It really feels like gasoline on the fire. It especially annoys me that Clark is saying to Jordan 'Don't stick around' when EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT SUPERMAN!
I hate this forced fighting between Sarah and Jordan. They were fine at the beginning of the season and I really liked it, now all this drama seems so unrealistic
Man, Cudlitz aged as Lex Luthor unlike his role as Sgt. Bull in Band of Brothers when he was young nearly 22 years ago. I think Cudlitz's Luthor is more threatening than his counterpart in Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor of Earth-Prime even though the show was trying to separate both Luthors from Arrowverse.
@@Fanciest-HoboHe was doing fine in season 2 i believe growing from the previous season but CW-drama has seeped into this season a lot more than before unfortunately
Calling it now Jordan being an egotistical moron is going lead to Lex finding out who he is and in turn Clark being Superman. Also RIP Otis. Zombizarro is a hungry boy
So I'm also curious if this Luthor has any business intelligence as it seems the science intellect might not play into this model. A gangster mob boss is the immediate vibe I get.
Old Man Luthor is the scariest Lutor I have seen like animation or live action this Luthor just looks like he has seen some shit that is always more scary than superpowers
Up until the tornado fame-seeking moment, I was totally on the kids' side. They are old enough to handle problems themselves without parents butting in, and their parents' interference in this episode just made things worse. As a youngest of six children, I learned pretty young to deal with my problems myself and only involve adults if it got out of my control. It was such a pet-peeve of mine when spoiled sheltered kids would involve their parents in our stupid schoolyard spats. Jordan's bragging at the beginning of the episode wasn't that bad, just a bit tasteless and tactless, but Sarah interpreted it as boastful. She should have confronted Jordan about it, and she would have, if they had been talking. Then when the parents got involved, Jordan doubled down and decided to just do what he was accused of doing. And Jonathan's situation would have worked itself out with time because Kyle would have gotten used to the Superman/Kent thing, and realized it really has nothing to do with Jonathan. Now the awkwardness and weirdness has just been doubled because Kyle feels Jonathan ran to his daddy for what should have stayed an in-house situation. But I like that about this show. Lois and Clark are good people, but they're not perfect. So they don't always get it right on when to say yes or no and when to interfere or let things be. And they are dealing with problems that most parents of teenagers don't deal with.
The thing is, Jordan straight up admitted that he didn't fly away when saving those people because he wanted the credit and recognition. Which would mean he did the same with Junior, he wanted to be seen, especially after what happened at the party. Jordan was doing too much and Sarah knew what he was doing, she's constantly having to dodge Junior about what happened and it's weighing on her. Then Jordan is trying to make a spectacle on what happened not even thinking about how Sarah feels when she was the one that almost died.
@@DayvonR64 I'm not condoning Jordan at all. That's why I started my comment with "up until the tornado." He hadn't gone too far until that point. There was still a way back. Not anymore. But where I feel Lois and Clark went wrong was taking the suit away for a flippant comment they heard about third-hand. It just made Jordan defensive and pushed him toward rebellion. In the long run, though, I think it's good that his relationship with Sarah is toast. She was his motivation for being a decent person, and he needs to learn to be that for himself.
@@MeyaRoseGirl They took away the suit because he was going around school bringing attention to himself. It doesn't matter if it was a little or a lot, all it takes is for him to say the wrong thing for there to be a target on his back. Junior already deduced that it was a kid in their school and Jordan didn't help by being the only person to hype up himself in front of them. All of what happened was Jordan's fault, I'd argue they were far too lenient up until now. Jordan defied them and risked his secret way before the tornado.
@@DayvonR64that’s why L&C took the suit away, yes, and they expected it to be a punishment and a moment for Jordan to reflect. It didn’t work. Parents often think they’re doing the right thing even if it doesn’t “work”. If it was the “right thing”, it would have worked. Maybe more conversation instead of punishment and “taking away” something is actually the right thing to do - not just “bEcUAsE pArEntInG” but actually doing something mature and not push Jordan further away from reason.
hard agree. up until that moment jordan had seemed to be worried about his identity being exposed (he panicked and called clark after he thought george had seen him) and had been saving people in the shadows for months just for the good of doing it. people were mad at him for not being careful enough saving sarah and george, or not being careful enough saving the guy inside the burning building and it's like ok but he DID save them, he's been saving lives and the only thing people seem to care about or acknowledge is the public image of him doing it. and while it did annoy me he was obviously fame seeking in that moment and potentially putting himself in danger, i understand his perspective of 'i've been saving lives all this time and my friends and family only ever get mad at me for it and i need a win" especially coming from a 16 year old. not condoning it, obviously, but it makes sense for how he's been treated up to this point. also the message that it's more important for him to keep his secret than having a responsibility to save lives or stop a disaster from happening to the point where he shouldn't help if it might put him at risk is a bit weird coming from a superhero story imo. it's not like when clark was a kid he shied away from confronting bad guys or saving people in smallville because he was worried about people knowing about his existence.
throughout seasons 1-2 i always liked jordan better but this season jonathan is definitely my favorite. i’m not sure if it’s because michael has taken on the role but there is just more character development. jordan has just been reckless
On the one hand, I know Jordan has anxiety and self esteem issues, so I understand where he's coming from and why he's seeking attention and recognition. On the other hand, he's behaving like an ass and it's a red flag that he doesn't recognize why his behavior is concerning.
At least he is being consistent. Jordan also was willing to use his powers to be a football star and enjoy the adoration from the coach, teammates, Sarah, etc.
This episode solidified for me, I despise Sarah in this show. As character, she is awful, and the writing around her doesn't help her case. Plus, I hate they way she treats Jordon.
Not seeing Jordan as the problem and blaming Sarah is hilarious to me. Jordan is clearly an issue. Sarah being annoyed by Jordan (and her parents) is the most normal thing about the show.
@@TimothyCribb She totally mischaracterized what happened at the school to her mom. She made it seem like he was going around telling everyone he saved her.

For me i still think bizzaro has a chance of becoming doomsday and witth Jordan going down the path hes going i can feel it being that Lex could not only have bizzaro on his side but also Jordan on his side. Might also push to awaken Jonathan's kryptonian side. Also seem to remember that Jordan isnt affected by kryptonite like his father. Here's me in the episode just saying "just show your son the green rock...oh right, he's immune it.....superboy prime???!!!"
@@lynch3740 Okay? But that's just a theory, and I was replying to someone who stated it as a fact. And I really don't think his genetic RESISTANCE, not immunity, to kryptonite can grow. Since, you know. It's genetic. Plus, what would be the point if Jordan just suddenly has no weaknesses? Immediately makes all his fight scenes boring because you know he won't get hurt. And before you say Red Sun, it's an immediate de-powering unless it's highly concentrated.
Sarah drama is getting ridiculous almost like the writers dont know what to do with her character. Her dad was my favorite this episode tho 😭😭 him fan boying superman
Interesting the major change to people with powers. IIRC people saw the fast guy in season one and the world didn't come to Smallville. The DOD has superpower school, indicating at least a few people have powers on this earth. Of Pia having powers this year. Why the word of a drinking high school kid get the press in a bother.

Death of Superman; cut to break; return with season 4; start with the family having to deal with the absence of Superman, and Jordan needing to step up as Super Boy, leading to the attitude adjustment he needs, perhaps leaning into his need for recognition; Superman resurected; obligatory "I've had to replace Superman while you were dead / You can't just come back and expect things to go back to normal" conflict; resolution.
Smallville Lex would like a word.
@@2seastars Ok, post Smallville lol
I haven't seen Lois and Clark fully explain the dangers of identity reveal to Jordan. It's usually once he leaves the room. He doesnt want to keep his identity from the world aevret until he is Clarks reveal age (understable). So they should be teaching him aecrecy but allow him to be a full on hero. Stop babying the process. He doesn't have to be the exact same "Superman" as his father. But Jordan does need to let Sarah go. Its been stalkery for a sec. Can't be friends with every ex, especially ones you still love.
Man… this Luthor… He is in charge.
I was of the mindset that we help Bizarro and send him back to Bizarro World, but I guess that’s not in the cards anymore.
I loved Michael Cudlitz in Southland
Feels like Lex from the Superman animated series. He’s shown working out in prison too, stong asf
Lex's usually displays intellectual superiority, and is devilishly charming, this actor displays none of that.
Give him time.
True, he seems like a angry villian, not the lex Luthor we know.
@@DJZ64X yeah but u know the younger Lex .. this show has them aged a bit so we don't really have much ground to stand on (i think) for Lex in 50's and released from prison..
You guys are wrong here 35:03 they never mentioned supergirl(Kara)in this series, because she doesn’t exist in this universe
Pretty certain she was mentioned very early in season one, when this was intended to be part of the Post-Crisis Arrowverse. After Cov botched the crossover plans she was quietly forgotten.
@@Vipre- no,she never was mentioned in this series,i rewatched season 1 just last week, that's even why people were outraged on Twitter(i saw this many times in 2021)why they never mentioned Kara in this series, but now we know why they never mentioned her
This episode was amazing. Finally feels like we are back into the swing of things as a comic book show
Has Clark really not gone looking for or asked about Bizarro's body?! What about the DOD, weren't they supposed to be investigating that?!
Did He Eat Otis ?🤣
Zoombie superman. 😮
I like this version of Lex Luthor.
I love what they did with Luthor. He was just this looming threat throughout the entire show and now he is gonna get his revenge
I said this on Airricks reloaded page......what if with Bizarro attacking Otis, Otis now becomes Solomon Grundy.
@@thescream18 I haven't actually watched the show. What comment did Clark misinterpret?
@@kathrynhoward4196 You might be able to find the clip, but it's in this episode when Clark and Lois confront Jordan about his supposed bragging. Jordan says something along the lines of he was wearing the mask that covered his face and what did it matter if he got a little credit.
Every time Luthor looked at that photo of the little girl I am like 'please be his daughter, please be his daughter". Then he said he had a daughter. Phew
Sam isn’t returning next season, Lana, Kyle, Sarah, Chrissy, John nor Natalie are returning next season. They will probably be cast as other actors as part of budget cuts.
yeah, the season finale may have to find a way for sam to ride off into the sunset or be luthor's victim.
Your comment was worded oddly, so I double checked. Sam is out. The Cushings and Irons and Chrissy are to be recurring guests.
@@TimothyCribb my apologies, thanks for the clarification
Yea this is an older gristles luthor
Jordan not giving a damn about putting his mother and brother at risk of being killed is infuriating. Just so he can feel seen and special?!? He's not a little boy, so he should be able to see the bigger picture, especially when his dad is Superman and he's already seen what villains knowing who they really are results in. Does he not remember Uncle Tal kidnapping him or his brother almost getting absorbed by his doppelganger?
How did he put them at risk? U watch the episode?
@@RichardH.MysticJessieFan6425 The more public he is, the easier it would be for people (especially villains) to figure out who he is. Sure he's invincible, but his family isn't. *"The mask is not for you, it's to protect the people you care about"*
Typical teenager.
Being an outcast his whole life, the new popularity got in his head.
they were both drinking in the bar on a past episode, hence the date talk
What if Crissy is Lex Luthor's daughter?? That would be hell of a twist!
why would she? That's so random.
@@Commander_Shepard.so random it could be considered a 'twist', like he said
Next season is gonna be so self contained with the Kent family and lex being the only series regulars
Those high schoolers grew up with dial up internet and I can't be convinced otherwise.
LOVE your mention of teabag 😂do yall have a reaction to prison break??? 👀
Lex destroying the farm isn't a bad theory but don't they save money by doing less buildings for Smallville?
Isnt that Otis guy the same actor who was a prison guard in Arrow when Oliver was incarcerated?
Probably wrong about this but Chrissy is Lex's daughter who changed her name.
That would be amazing!
Damn
I think Otis-berg from the movies became Otis the hamburger here!
Why did everything with Lex taking over the prison get cut out of the reaction?
Looks like Abraham is stuck with ANOTHER Zombie problem...
It’s silly that Lex is a Superman villain. Watching this in live action emphasizes that part more. Superman can just end him any time that he wants.
Not exactly. He can't just attack someone without evidence.
I’m not sure what’s scarier, angsty teen Jordan shrugging off and staring down Clark or hungry zombified Bizarro Superman. Luther follows up as second scariest.
'how do you want to approach?'. maybe that wasnt meant for Otis.
Sorry eric, I will always buy the glasses disguise. It's the meekness, humble personality that sells it. Clumsy Clark is even better.
Clark almost went Omni-Man on Jordan and i don't blame him
Ngl I saw the title of this episode and I got a little worried.
Seeing Tyler pissed off is sooo great
I hate this forced fighting between Sarah and Jordan.
No, no, Aaron's right about not being able to tell it's him eating the rat. He took his glasses off.
Superman and Lois strives to answer the question; What if Lex Luthor was also Robert DeNiro's character from Cape Fear?
Sarah never fails to frustrate me (Jordan too)
Jordan really makes me wanna pull my hair out. And it frustrates me that he doesn't seem to really grow or change.
@@Fanciest-HoboHe was doing fine in season 2 i believe growing from the previous season but CW-drama has seeped into this season a lot more than before unfortunately
Just like real teenagers honestly. Frustrating to watch
@@Step43099 As a former teenager, I agree.
Sarah has been pretty good lately, Jordan is horrible.
Less Otisburg, more OtisBurger.
When was kara mentioned?
Calling it now Jordan being an egotistical moron is going lead to Lex finding out who he is and in turn Clark being Superman. Also RIP Otis. Zombizarro is a hungry boy
So I'm also curious if this Luthor has any business intelligence as it seems the science intellect might not play into this model. A gangster mob boss is the immediate vibe I get.
My current pick for a Lex Luthor is Dave Bautista.
Something different.
I think Nicholas Hoult, who is up for Superman, would be a cool choice for a Lex who is closer in age to Clark. But yeah, Dave would be great
Old Man Luthor is the scariest Lutor I have seen like animation or live action this Luthor just looks like he has seen some shit that is always more scary than superpowers
He’s only scary because Superman lets him be.
Am i the only one who is not upset with Jordan in the slightest?
Nope 😂
This is the Luther we should have gotten in the movies.
4:51 "Our age" he says. Looking like a 30 year old.
This show...
@TimothyCribb never blamed Sarah, just said I don't like her or the way she treats Jordon (not just this episode but in general).

But he's not immune, just not affected as much. He still went down after that kryptonite blast, the difference is that he got back up quicker.
@@flastyy_ yeah but as Clark’s power grew as he got older so can Jordans immunity to kryptonite
Thought that was Bruce Willis

I love the scene when Clark and Jordan looked like they were about to fight. Also, Eric said what about Otisburgh, I say more like Otis-burger!!!

Interesting the major change to people with powers. IIRC people saw the fast guy in season one and the world didn't come to Smallville. The DOD has superpower school, indicating at least a few people have powers on this earth. Of Pia having powers this year. Why the word of a drinking high school kid get the press in a bother.
