Looove Lindsay! She was one of my favourite players of that generation! Always cheering for her. And now brilliant commentator, enjoy so much listening to her ❤
Lindsay Davenport is one of my all-time faves. She was/is so classy, whether she felt that way or not, that's how I saw her. I appreciated her game but she always just seemed like a good person. Thanks for sharing your fun relationship with us.
I always loved watching Lindsay play, as she was such clean, powerful ball striker. I particularly remember her incredible matches against Venus at Wimbledon.
Been fortunate enough to attend the HOF ceremonies for both Andy (w Clijsters) , and Lindsay. Lindsay in particular was so nice in taking a pic. She was also so self-deprecating in her hof speech. Super-classy
I just found out about this amazing podcast. Andy has always been one of my all time favourite players. I wish he could make more chats like these with players of that awesome generation like Hewitt, Ferrero, Moya, Nalbandian, Blake, Gonzalez, Ferrer, Henman and lots more. I also hope they could talk a little more about the technichal aspectnof their game. Regards from Argentina. PS: that semi against Nalbandian at the 2003 US open was amazing
Absolutely LOVED this conversation with Lindsay. It's clear they love and respect each other and it's great that Andy has this forum to showcase the various relationships and/or contacts he's established over his career. This pod has become a must see on TH-cam when they drop. Great job Andy and team!!
I just can't picture the quiet, shy, gentle powerhouse Lindsay Davenport tossing curse words ever! I am absolutely scandalized LOL! But of course in a joking way. It's so sad to me that someone with her skills in so many areas was so insecure, to really think you're gonna lose zero and zero when you could clobber these other players while looking like you're not even trying? Shocking to me but explains so much about her grand slam career. Knowing that she was able to win 3 GS singles titles with her inner battle with herself is just a testament to the physical gifts she possessed. No one has hit a cleaner ball. People have hit harder (not many) but no one made it look as easy and effortless as Davenport. Not sure if anyone ever will again.
Brilliant podcast again. The Jagger/Lindsay incident reminded me of the young Murray and Del Potro when the latter made a comment about Judy. I thought Andy was going to deck him.
Love Lindsay so much. Full of Class and so much knowledge. Can keep listening to her. So many achievments yet so humble. Such a great interview and the freindship between you two is lovely!
Kinda cool hearing Lindsay talking about playing Amanda Coetzer Milchan. Just shows how tennis is such a great sport. Lindsay's 6 foot gazillion, Amanda was like 4 foot 11 (and one of my heros).
Andy can you comment on the international tennis Hall of Fame and the end of the tournaments after this year… How do you think this affects ceremonies for inductions in the future… Can you speak to how tournaments get bought and sold or what have you… it’s a shame that there is no longer tournaments associated with the induction ceremony going forward after this year…And of course it was a great opportunity to see high-level tennis on the grass courts of Newport… Thanks for any comments on this … your podcast is awesome!
That just flew by! Compulsive viewing. Davenport was such a great champion. Her body language at the beginning was so funny - clearly hacked off and not backing down. Testament to the Davenport/Roddick friendship that she made her point (and how! Good on her.) And moved on. Davenport and Clijsters are both such good value. I really hope Andy brings on Chris Evert - if she's healthy enough - as I feel they share a similar dry sense of humour and, as a non- American, I feel Evert revolutionised popularity in Women's tennis across the world. Now that would be quite a programme.
you two - i thought that Darwin was okay. some incredibly clean striking, yielding h-u-g-e shots. he just doesn’t have a solid base yet and [as i used to be told] ‘not enough balls in the court’. the potential is enormous, so hopefully his team can help with continual improvement. that match in Madrid with Rafa might actually be a great lesson, going forward.
They should have never changed Fed Cup from the original- 16 teams in 1 (different each year) city for a week/4 rounds... Martina's triumphant return to Prague in 86 is probably the greatest moment in Fed Cup history- that wouldn't have happened if it was in the same city every year or if it had just been 1 round- like Davis Cup always was.
Yes he's going to end this? Thank you. Did he know that Bjorn Borg and Martina Navratilova were my favorite tennis players when I was a teen? I like Martina Navratilova because she was the first tennis player to get into shape along with Ivan lindell, who was from same country.
That whole Emma Navarro rap thing went on way way too long. Andy's insistence on clearing the air over & over became annoying...I had to fadt forward several times. Give it a rest fam...it was never that serious 😂
@@Pdjohnners sure but this podcast is for fans, if they don’t watch it won’t be successful. 15 minutes on a random comment about a rap i’ve never seen about a junior player i’ve heard about one other time?
What’s even more disrespectful than what Andy said was Davenport referring to the Belgium players as the Belgium player! Why not say her name? She was your opponent for the weekend.
Sabalenka should feel like number one. After the final in Madrid, it seems to me that your words no longer have any meaning. I don't know what Iga should still do so that the opinions of the so-called experts are not so volatile. Unlike Iga's form, which is more stable than your opinions.
So underated 3 slams gold medal. Nice unpretentious lady. One of the greats❤

I love that Lindsay kept Andy accountable
been Lindsay's no1 fan since forever. She's a quiet bad ass and the coolest champion ❤

Lindsay Davenport is a tennis legend.. So underrated... Loved her ball striking!
Had a chance to hit with her...Her ball striking is amazing. So clean.

LOLOL! I love the brother/sister vibes here. Lindsay come on and roast Andy more.
Miss watching both of them play 🎾
Lindsay Davenport! Wow. There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Too long. Good to see her.
Andy I saw the rap in full. You were right. I also give Emma credit for the effort. Lindsay was seeded 10 for olympics.
Best one yet. Really good interview she is freakin dreamy
wish you asked her about the WTA Saudi finals decision.

Coetzer was one of the few that could humble Graf on big occasions. I love revisiting those matches on TH-cam.

They will ,stadium and facility's are not up to what players want in eastern Europe.
It was actually 32 teams, not 16

I disagree: I liked that it was important to Roddick given his friendship with Davenport.

Why is she so biased against Swiatek? It's pretty obvious from her commentary that she really dislikes her. Is it because she keeps clowning Gauff?
