and then with the same rhythm, the final song Linked Horizon gave us "What are you learn?" after the ending of Rumbling.

Fun fact for the final op, The Last Titan.
After the fairy tale bit of the song when it switches up.
The lyrics make reference to every single opening in the anime:
-Let loose like an arrow (Opening 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow)
-The slave that once dreamt of freedom (Opening 2: Wings of Freedom)
-Watched many offered hearts pass on (Opening 3: Give Your Hearts)
-And became a bird drenched in red (Opening 4: Red Swan)
-The path paved with corpses (Opening 5: Path of Aspirations & Corpses)
-Reaches beyond the ocean on the heels of war (Opening 6: My War)
-With the rumbling of earth in tow (Opening 7: The Rumbling)
The full song in the 2nd half then recites lyrics that references all Ed songs (except Ending 8: See You Later) in the anime:
-In this cruel world of walls (Ending 1: Cruel & Beautiful World)
-No matter where I run (Ending 2: The Great Escape)
-Chased by the falling sun, tearing at my wings (Ending 3: Birds of Twilight)
-I long for the song of dawn (Ending 4: Requiem of the Dawn)
-Sometimes I miss the name of love (Ending 5: Name of Love)
-I tame shock and despair (Ending 6: Shock)
-I just wanted to be under the same tree (Special Ending for the Final Chapters: Under the Tree)
-Even if I was surrounded by the devil (Ending 7: Child of Evil)

Yup, especially the lyrics of OP1:
"the rage of the boy will dye the world crimson red"
"the bow and arrow from hell, the bow and arrow from hell, here it comes".
It brings chills to my body.

@@HoangTran-wu6se One I really liked is the german part for both Op1 and the 2nd special ending (Final Ch's Part 2: To you in 2000 or 20000 yrs from now) being a continuation:
      Op1:
      Attack on the Titans
The boy from back then will soon take up the sword.
Who only laments his powerlessness, won't be able to change anything.
The boy from back then will soon take up the black sword.
Hate and rage are a double-edged blade.
Soon, one day, He will bare his fangs against fate.
      SP Ed 2:
When the world has broken the boy's sword
He will reach the top of the skyscraper
And look down on the Tower of Babel with laughter.
Hate and rage are a double-edged blade.
      History repeats itself.

As for the German stuff in Attack on Titan and the openings (for example op 1 has a whole German part in the full version) that is because it was inspired by Germany. I think the city of Shiganshina is inspired by a town named Nördlingen in Bavaria.
Also, a lot of the last names are German sounding (or from regions around Germany). For example of course Jaeger/Yeager/Jäger or however you want to spell his name. Ans named like Braus, Freudenberg, Berner, Schultz, Walbrunn, Ackermann, Rheinberger, Dietrich, Wagner, Kruger, Reiss, Fritz, Stratmann, Springer, Braun, Forster,... there's even a Franz Kefka in the show (probably based on the famous writer Franz Kafka from Prague).
All in all, I think even the story is partly based on Germany and the history of World War 2.

I LOVE "My War". At first I found it pretty odd, but as the season rollled on, man it fits so perfectly well. The horrible things that happen, the war, the killing, the disturbing racist and brainwashing ideas...it feels like taking a horror song and trying to your best to make it into an up-beat anime opening

@@houseking9211 I think the stuff you develop a taste for over time is the best stuff actually. For example, I bought Iron Maiden's Number Of the Beast CD when I was like 14 because it looked cool, but the first few times I listened to it (on my diskman I might add) I thought it was a bunch of garbage and all the songs sounded the same...then a few months later I literally had nothing to do so I decided to listen to it again jusy cuz, and suddenly something clicked and I was floored by how amazing it was. I loved it so much I picked up a guitar and today if I'm not being too pretentious I think I can call myself a professional guitarrist. Op2《tsubasa》 wo chirashite
    Op3《shinzou》 wo tabanetemo

If you search Linked Horizon attack on Titan live, you'll see they wrote many song to the series like song from Eren Mother perspective, song about Annie struggle, song about Petra admiring Levi, even song about Ilse from Ilse notebook ova...

    • @reubenkimber
      @reubenkimber 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@hessiah2021 I left a comment somewhere here too about this but something more for you - they actually change the lyrics a bit too. The shinzou wo sasageyo from op3 was changed to shinzou wo tabanetemo. So it got changed from "give your hearts" to "we gave our hearts". They changed the perspective from the scout recruits in s2, to the fallen soldiers in s3p2.
Also the bit with the growly voice that caught the reactor offguard, translates to "If you want to see the continuation of the dream, what can you offer?
The devil whispered sweetly, creating a road with corpses." This is as the animation goes to the beast titan. It's Zeke, the 'devil' offering Eren a continuation of his dream of freedom, but creating the road of corpses with it. Absolutely crazy openings nothing comes close.

Revo, linked horizon's composer, has primary band named sound horizon. Its albums tells stories. So if you think linked horizon makes "specific" melody in their songs, it's because they do reference something.
Because Revo is a storyteller. It's his way to tell you a story through his songs.

What's even cooler at 19:47 is that Linked Horizon actually use not just the first opening, but the second, third, and even an ending, all in 8 bars. It's really cool as well because they use the same melodies (mostly), but change the lyrics. For example, the "Shinzou wo Tabanetemo", was changed from "Shinzou wo Sasageyo" (opening 3). This means they've changed the words from "give your heart", to "we gave our hearts", so it's talking from the perspective of the fallen soldiers in season 3 part 2, as compared to the perspective of all the scout recruits in season 2.

The scene during red swan where young Erin bumps into his older self is so powerful! His younger self can’t recognise the man he becomes, completely unaware of what his life is to become.
Older Erin is completely blinded by his search for freedome that he can’t even see the joys of his youth anymore, the type of freedome a child has through the very nature of being free from responsibility.
It’s a reflection of how the gang are once they finally reach the see, there all still able to find joy in there life and appreciate the life they have even given its conditions and yet all erin can focus on is the enemy before them a hundreds of miles across the sea.

If you've watched the whole show there are parallels you could bring out in the show versus real world stuff that happened, I imagine there's something there that you could bring out to say that's the reason why they went with german in some songs. 日本の音楽は海外と色々違うらしいので、海外の方の専門的な意見とても面白かったです🥰
    日本人の感性が歌にも良く出てると思います、海外の方も日本の曲を沢山好きになってもらえると嬉しい✨️

I think you should make this a common video, not a lot of musicians reacting to anime, you have a perspective and expertise that not a lot of people have. You should react to more anime music!

Well, if you liked the openings, I don't want to tell you what it means to listen to the soundtrack while watching the series. It involves a story and some totally incredible script twists. I won't be the first or the last to recommend that you see her. Greetings and thank you for sharing and giving value to a part of this piece of work.

Once you have finished the show, some stuff in the openings clicks. Like at 14:10 when adult Eren was around young Eren. I wonder if that's what you meant when you said that aloud. Also him looking at the 3 of them. Just hits deep knowing how the story plays out.

I recommend you listen to the Eyeshield 21 Openings next, it's a sports anime about American Football and it's actually written by the same person that wrote the iteration of One Punch Man people are familiar with Yusuke Morata. The manga is actually very popular, and the openings are some of my all time Favorite!
Another option is checking out the Detective Conan openings because those go hard.

Note to everyone who doesn't want to be this dude: The openings can't spoil you. They didn't spoil us watching them as the episodes came out because nothing made sense until the events came and passed. Don't be this dude, it's absolutely moronic.

Red swan reminds you of creep probably because it's almost the same progression as creep but on a different key and changing one note hahaha
Creep goes I-III-IV-iv on G major, while red swan goes I-iii-IV-iv in F major
To me it's the best opening for this anime, it's just the perfect representation of the sad world those three live in and the uncertainty of everything in their world.
I also strongly recommend checking the full version, it has a beautiful key change on the middle of it that bumps up this song to a million

Can u please react to my type-moon all openings playlist it’s the strongest franchise in anime with their base abilities giving them immeasurable speed. & my power scaling playlist is all the proof we need, my essay playlist also proves it has the best written characters in anime especially in the female aspect.(something shonen struggles with) Like generic anime channel’s shirou vid, it’s billion$ budget & ufotable even come together to give us peak animation of any year they drop or period. It’s also the lotr of anime with lore on lore & galore.
