Hi, Exit. Wow, this indoor park is massive. Spinning Roller coaster!👀👀 I feel like I am getting sick. Indeed, there are quite a number of renovations. I wonder how long it will take to complete. Did you get on any rides while you were there? Thank you so much for your walking tour. Ta ta
Now that they've torn out the Mindbender, it'd be nice if they would put something from either Gerstlauer or Mack rides in it's place. Theme it to "Transformers" or something like that. I don't know, something like "Megatron's Revenge" or whatever.
I go every August with family on vacation and seeing the redesign is kinda sad for me because a made a lot of memories on those rides. I remember years ago when they had an animal safari arcade machine when you would catch animals and I probably accounted for like 1% of there profits from that machine alone. It’s gone now tho 😢.
I'm glad I watched this video, I didn't know Mindbender was down and I do see on the website that it is still down. It would be my first visit and that's the main reason to go for me, so I hope they have it up and running soon!
@@jannalam6861 I'm assuming you haven't been on many coasters. It helps to know how to predict which way it will go and brace for that. Yes, it can bop you in the head if you aren't careful, but compared to something like Goudurix in France or Loop-it in Greece, Mindbender is smoooooooth like butter.
I know this video was 6months ago but I went in 2018 and 2023 recently and the was 3 kids breaking into rides without rist bands and broke the swing exit
Funny enough, it sounds like they are looking to create more Hasbro themed parks. I just saw they announced that one is being built in Mexico: "Located in the Interlomas region of Maxico City, "Hasbro City" will be a place filled with around 24 attractions starring everything from Ponies to Transformers."
The Mindbender is awesome! I've ridden it a number of times over the years. The loops are so right that I greyed out last time. Having said that, I think they're doing a great job with the rethemed rides as well. Just wish it was moving a bit faster so the park gets to a more complete state :)
I'm going to have to get up to Edmonton again before they retheme my coaster. I named the Galaxy Orbiter and my now wife and I were the first people to ride it along with a mall manager and a representative of gerstlauer. It would be fitting to get the last ride before they change it.
Thank you for the video. It is hard for me to understand the dynamics of this park. Do people visit from nearby areas casually? Or do people set out from 300 km away to visit the park alone? Do people stay in hotels nearby and just visit the mall for the theme park similar to a Legoland visit? We don't have these in the South East US, but would love to visit one before my kids out-age them. In an age of Disney requiring wealth and seasonal nature of Cedar Fair/Six Flag parks there appears to be a gap for these parks to spring up.
In Canada it's rare to have a year round park because of the weather so WEM does attract visitors from all over in vacation. I know a lot of folks from BC and Western Canada go for a trip or for supporting break!
@@Furiously_HappyRN ya I’m curious what they will do. I’m not even sure how profitable Galaxyland has been the last 5 yrs or so because of COVID and everything, and in general less and less people spend money on this type of stuff since the age of the internet. So I’m not even sure if it’s feasible for them to get another custom roller coaster or anything made for the designated space. I have a feeling that whatever they bring in won’t fit the area like the Mindbender did. Somehow they utilized almost every inch of space with the design of that roller coaster in that space.

Considering how much of a kids park it is I am surprised they have not sold off that looping coaster yet. Its not like they could not use that room for something more suitable for the clientele.
The original reason that the mindbender (The looping coaster) and other more extreme rides were added is because the park wasn't as appealing to older people and they wanted a wider variety of people. I'm referring to the transition between 1983 (when the park first opened) to when it expanded in 1986.
I've heard lots of rumors but nothing definitive. The prevailing theory seems to be that they are waiting on replacement parts and I've heard about possible issues with the track, but I agree the longer it's down the less likely it seems that it will ever reopen ☹️
I've talked to the park. They hope to reopen it - which is why its still listed on the website. But the longer it sits idle, the less hope I have of that happening.
Maybe you should stop spamming similar sentences in one whole comment section and using other people’s comments replying saying things very similar and not even close to being the topic of what the comment or said.
It's a big loss, but I don't think they killed it just for change. There were rumors about broken parts or even a crack in the track. Likely the cost to repair a 37 year old custom ride was just too high!

Yes! The Harbro theme is great - lots of memories from my youth ;)

What a great idea! I wanna' be a kid again! 😊
You don't need to be a kid to enjoy the park (although my tolerance for extreme rides is a lot less than when I was younger)!
Looks like a fun amusement park 😀👍
It was a good time, but will be better once everything is open again!
