I have 2 Quick Fire Fabs that I purchased last year and I love them!! Buying 2 more to create a welcoming greeting for visitors that also serves as a privacy hedge. Love the upright habit. Thanks for developing this variety!!
Planted 2 of these in my garden bed this year, ordered directly off of PW in a quart size container! How many years does it typically take for these to reach full size?
I am hydrangea addicted, its never enough for me. Yesterday purchased the Quick Fire Fab (was very difficult to find in my area). Then realized that I simply don't have even half of sq foot free space on my backyard or front lawn. Is it possible to keep it in a pot during winter time?, (it will be kept at fully covered porch). I live in South Ontario, Canada, zone 6
Love your passion! Yes you can keep it in a container over the winter. Just make sure you have it in a weatherproof container and make sure you keep it watered. You won't need to water as much during the winter but just make sure that it doesn't completely dry out. Here's a helpful article we have on growing hydrangeas in containers that you might find helpful :) www.provenwinners.com/learn/container-gardening/how-grow-hydrangeas-containers
I don't have a garden, but I have a large terrace and I have 6 hydrangeas all in pots And all I can say is - The bigger the pot the bigger the Hydrangea will grow..
I have the quick fire fab growing in a container. Purchased it 2 years ago in a gallon size. I’m in zone 5b. Mines has survived in a container the garage in the winter. Last year, I made space for it in the raised bed over the winter season and it also survived. Best!
Im zone 6b Missouri...if i plant this in direct afternoon sun....in summer will it turn brown in extreme heat? I want something that will continue to look good until fall
My quick fire fab flopped terribly last year and broke so many its own stems in just normal rains. It was the second year in ground and I wasn’t too impressed by it. Not sure how it’s gonna perform this year since it lost all the stems from las year. Beautiful flowers though.
It is possible that the plant is still getting established. It would be a good idea to prune your hydrangea in late winter/early spring by about 1/3 of the total plant. This will help the plant to develop stronger stems. Thank you for reaching out! If you continue to have this issue, don't hesitate to reach out :)
These hydrangeas do prefer well-drained soil. They will be okay if they aren't left in water for too long but they won't do well if they are constantly sitting in water 🙂
I'm in zone 5/6 ( MI) and my house facing West the flowers bed got plenty of filtered sun because trees around a lot but during summer from 3PM to 6 PM got direct afternoon sun exposure will the plant doing fine if I plant it there?
I planted a row about 2 feet from my back deck. Is that too close? I couldn’t plant further than that due to a stone border that I would need to take out. Thanks.
Quick Fire Fab grows to be around 5-6' in width so that will be just fine ☺ they might grow right up against the deck once they get closer to their mature size, but that isn't an issue as long as you're okay with it!
These hydrangeas are hardy up to USDA zone 8, so 9 would be a bit too hot for them. Here's a link to hydrangeas we have that will grow in zone 9 :) www.mypwcolorchoices.com/all-plants/?jsf=epro-products:sheight&tax=product_cat:528;pa_zone:109
My quickfire fab I planted last fall, came back looking healthy in the Spring, however, the leaves are lime green/yellowish. I planted firelight tidbit and the limelight prime the same time last year, same soil, their leaves are healthy dark green looking. What could have happened to my quickfire fab? I fertilized with Holly tone to all three, same amount of feed. Please let me know that it's not dying 😥😥
Don't panic - it's not dying! There are several possible explanations as to why it could be yellow compared to the other plants, but to give you the best advice, we'd need to know where you are located and to see a photo of it. Can you submit that here: www.provenwinners.com/feedback and select "shrubs" as the cateogory? One of our shrubs specialists will reply to you.
@@sunshine-db2zm I contacted PW right away after I listed my quick fire fab issue, they suspected iron deficiency, so I treated with liquid iron, 4 weeks later, it looked so healthy and the growth finally took off!! It's so beautiful now, I love it!

Love that!! So glad you're enjoying them and thanks so much for the feedback :)
Would love to see one of these at full size.
Have you made an update on the quick fire fab? I would love to see how big it has gotten. Thank you ❤

Love!!
Amazing 😻
Thank you so much
Happy to help :)
Does Quick Fire Fab have the same fall foliage turning oranges , golds and reds as the original Quickfire Hydrangea?
Yes it does!
Spring Meadow Nursery , fantastic! Thank you!
Sweet😀

Typically 3-5 years!

how about pollinators? will they enjoy this one as much as quick fire, or little quick fire?
Yes, pollinators love this hydrangea as well :)
Is that one hydrangea? Or did they plant multiple to give it that almost perfect ball shape???

Will HollyTone fertilizer work for these? Thx
Will these get as tall as Limelights?
Yes, both have a mature height of 6-8' 🙂
Will these be ok in some standing water during rain?
These hydrangeas do prefer well-drained soil. They will be okay if they aren't left in water for too long but they won't do well if they are constantly sitting in water 🙂

Yes they should do just fine! The more sun they get, they more prolific they will bloom but it sounds like you get plenty of sun for them to do well.

@@SpringMeadowNursery thanks so much! I’m excited to see them grow!
Does the bloom turns brown in hot and humid summers?
If the plant doesn't get some cooler nighttime temperatures, then it won't get a strong pink coloration and can go from white to light pink to brown.
Can you tell is how cool the nighttime temps need to be? Is low 60s considered cool enough for pink to develop? @@SpringMeadowNursery
Did you mention the maturity size?
Quick Fire Fab grows to be 6-8' tall and 5-6' wide 🙂
I am N MS and I need something for all day sun. Is there ANY hydrangea that fits that bill?
Our panicle hydrangeas should work for you, just make sure to have a good 2-3" layer of mulch to help keep the roots cool.
Is quick fire fab comes in tree form?
Some garden centers do sell it as a tree-form but it is dependent on the garden center and their stock ☺
What about zone 9?

Mine just burns in the summer ☹️
What USDA zone are you in? What type of growing conditions is the plant in?
Maşallah adı nedir acaba ❤
How big do they get in zone 5 canada?
These grow to be 6-8' (1.8-2.4m) tall and 5-6' (1.5-1.8m) wide
