With the additional torque from the 50S, when on loose terrain -- pedal hardness setting can play a significant role in controlling the torque. I'd bet that if the 50S version was in medium or soft mode, he would not have the sudden spikes in torque/wheel spin in high torque, loose terrain conditions like that hillclimb.
One thing that really impressed me is with the 50 S batteries I did a 35 mile ride with 2500 feet of elevation gain and I was pushing it hard and the warmest battery, looking at the app, was around 19° C. That means even under heavy discharge they don't even begin to warm up. My battery was at 67% after that ride! I also rode on a dirt road that was completely screwed up by cows walking on the road when it was muddy so it was extremely bumpy because the road had dried out and was full of holes from the cattle. I found that just keeping my speed up to around 20 mph I could just ride over all of that bumpy crap and the wheel just ate it up. I was laughing at how smooth it rides even on nasty Chattery bumps.
Nothings better than an EUC for exploring. I finally got my Lynx ship date so should b rolling on it next week just in time for a forecasted mid winter thaw. Spain is so beautiful. Nice enjoyable video, ride safe!
Great video. subbed! I believe that 50s should shine when sustain higher speed, or accelerate and decelerate more often. If you could try to start with the same battery and fast and aggressive - than check voltage - that would be great!
we did go to a circuit, but it's wasn't really a high speed circuit hard to get going faster than 60kph. We lost the audio from it, I tried doing a voice over, but it just didn't feel right in the video.
I do think the major differences between the 2 batteries would be in more specific use cases . Going very fast for longer times and riding fast at lower battery percentage on the 50s would be better , but I don't feel that its that much worth the price differences otherwise . I will be riding mine in the city and off-roading so in my use case , I don't see why you would get a 50s version unless you're a speed maniac lol
It's a good question, I think its nearly a perfect, a bit more wouldn't hurt, but I wouldn't want to change the height of the wheel or anything else to allow for more travel.
Zen, what's your jacket? I could use that sort of shoulder protection. Also, would love to see more 50E vs 50S on various software settings. Planning on getting a batch 2 or 3 Lynx; there's lots of ice, mud, loose gravel, etc where I live and over-torque would be a problem.
I'm not sure my jacket, was a gift from Pysco, I don't see any branding on it. The shoulder pads are very basic, better than nothing, but barely. Ok, we''ll try the different riding modes and see if we notice any difference.
Привет. У меня стоит выбор, что лучше купить на 50S или 50E. У меня в страну завезли пока на 50Е. Стоит подождать когда завезут версию на 50S или можно смело брать 50Е? Важно твое мнение. Спасибо
In the next video, could you continue talking about the differences between the 50e and 50s, for example, is it true, as the manufacturer says on paper, that 50s batteries have much less long-term life than 50e batteries? And is it really worth spending more money buying the 50e to have more torque power and greater range in kilometers at the cost of the batteries deteriorating much faster? Thanks in advance.
Not absolutely, the 50s is a much higher performance cap cell that CAN be "shortstroked" when used as the manufacturer specs in the sheet. The reason people spout nonsense is because they don't understand that the spec sheet has a really "abusive" cycle life test where they discharge at 25A and charge at 6A... 6A you read correctly, a 5Ah cell being charged at 6A is a huge stressor to the cell or ANY cell for that matter. A Lynx could be charged at 4x6A=24A to hit its cells really hard. Veteran limited it to 15A to spare the cells the extra stress. If YOU the user charge at 5A-10A and don't draw more than 80A on your hardest accelerations, your cells will live a long and stress free life, you'll get 800-1000 cycles easily before hitting 60% capacity remaining. It is not as black and white with batteries, it is a gradient.
I don't understand why they design the kickstand like that. Why let it protude that far? Why have it so low? Also the mudguards should be made from rubber, not plastic that can scrape and break.
i am currently in the process of buying a T4pro and wasnt sure about the cells but now i dont thing its really worth the 200€ for a wheel like the T4...
Oh wow! Wasn't expecting you to say that. The 50s CPro's are ready to ship now.. Hopefully you can get the wheel and do a review also. I think I'm going with the Pro but you guys really make me want the Lynx. Thanks Zen
well Pysco sold his Commander Pro, and neither of us would trade our Lynx for a Cpro. But its a super solid wheel and with 50S should be amazing. My concern would be the resell value.@@bravedave90
If you do any kind of aggressive riding where you're pulling more amps the High discharge 50S cells will get more range. If you ride conservatively at lower speeds the 50e will get more range.
what you compared, nothing nada? battle of cells, 40km, serios guys ? be serious, this was major bullshit. do it againe, you can do better. you dont work for leaperkim !!! Hope you enjoy it! Stay safe so you can ride all year!
EUC makes it possible to explore and see so many things you probably wouldn't see if you didn't have one.
It really does, opens up a whole new world
I agree. Most of my crashes were from pedal clips. 2nd is from slipping on ice.
ICe lol :)
I think I have crash 5 times already this winter season because of the ice and only 1 propper clip last summer on singletrack :)
Couldn’t agree more! Pedal
Clip is the worst and is what’s giving me a hard time deciding between getting a Patton or Extreme.
what a great video!
thanks
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for this video! Love seeing tests that uncover the differences between the cells being used.
Thanks, more to come!
What suspension config you ended up getting? The 66lbs? Love the video, so much fun.
thanks! 66 it is

How is the voltage sag on the 50s vs 50e?
50S 😍
regarding the rattle. If you put some velcro on the battery fuses to stick them down it reduces some of the rattles.
Perfect thanks!

Nice work Zen! We now the 50s is not less? Interesting.
we will test further to make sure our first impression were accurate, and will try to be more scientific
that's a nice Back pack what brand is it ?and when can we get a " what's in my back " video For EUC new riders ..?
LK doesn’t charge that much for the upgrade compared to other brands so i don’t see a reason to not get it
Do you feel there is enough suspension travel? Just comparing the 90mm compared to the 130mm of the S22.
Keep up with the good work Zen 👍

@@Sall93arm What did I write in my earlier comment?
How to be sure you have received the 50s, only open to check the battery pack ?
its a good question, I think opening it is the only way.
I read in a forum that Samsung 50S batteries are supposed to have fewer recharge cycles than the 50E. Can someone verify this information?
What spring are you guys running. I'm 165lbs and I'm thinking I'll get 62lb spring?
isn't it the powercable banging against the mudguard that is making the noise?
I thought that too! I'll try get him to tape it up.

I don't understand why they design the kickstand like that. Why let it protude that far? Why have it so low? Also the mudguards should be made from rubber, not plastic that can scrape and break.
I'm not sure to be honest, the Patton and Sherman S had the perfect size kickstand, but they went to far with it on the Lynx. I agree.
Good luck in the race.

oh man, there both so good. The LYnx will definitely be better offroading, but on street probably C Pro.

Damn bro I cringed hard when I saw the mud going around the motor. I had that on my master and took so long to clean it out 😓
As for pedal clips I had 6 this season. All terrible. The pedal height of the Lynx is one of the reasons I bought it.
i love this wheel , i hope that don t got any issue , its seem perfect ,good range ,amazing power .....do you have learn spanish ?
I've learned some basics, but I rarely need to use it, I should work on it a bit more, but I'd rather use my time for making videos.
yes of course , videos needs a lot of time ,and learn a new language its not easy at all ,hola chico XD @@ZenLee
Seems like it’s sluggish 😫
Hopefully you get to try it one day, soft mode is a bit sluggish, I think with this wheel you can make pro division for first time.
