The Tamagawa Onsen in Akita Prefecture is a highly acidic spring with a ph of 1.2, mainly composed of hydrochloric acid, which is rare in the world, and contains radium. The large bathhouse, built of Aomori hiba (cypress), has 11 different bathtubs and is full of the feeling of a secluded hot spring.
