My mother has been a big fan of Final Fantasy 7 since it first came out on 1997 and she loved playing Cloud Strife she’s obsessed with Cloud and she’s been waiting for this remake for 5 years and I have played and it’s an absolute Masterpiece.
Damn...Joe got that raw, undiluted injection of FF7. There's something truly entertaining watching somebody enjoy the magic of a game for the first time.
I've played Final Fantasy VII remake and The Last of Us II and I can say without a doubt Final Fantasy 7 remake totally worth the money and if you could only buy one or the other I would definitely recommend ff7 remake over Last of Us 2

I didn't realize how important this kind of take really is. Most of the reviews I've seen are from FF diehards, but this is the first proper review from someone who goes hard on the games while also having fresh eyes for FF. This goes a long way to proving that the changes achieved something good

But the fact that it was a 2020 game that's still basically brand new made me want to give it a try and today I first started playing and my mind has been blown by how amazing the game is. Final fantasy has arguably some of the best music period. If you ever get the opportunity to go to a Distant Worlds concert I cannot recommend it highly enough!
This, it really makes me sad and wonder wth happened with DQ11 because the music in that game was so subpar to the point of shocking how garbage it was. The music in this game is some of the best and rivals all the music from the glory days of Square as the SNES PS1 games.
I have played all of the final fantasy games 1-15 and FF7 is my favorite game of all time. I have to admit this remake reminds of why the og game is my favorite game in the first place. SO good!!

If your needing a final fantasy fix didn’t square enix just release the Trials of Mana Remake on Switch PS4 and Xbox? It’s also really fuckin awesome. Complete different in tone and visual style than FF7 but still fuckin awesome. In fact I cannot fuckin understand why they would release two major releases in the same month, it’s set up Trials of Mana to fail. It really sucks this isn't the whole game. You have a situation like what Joe is in. The original has a mindblowing story, but the combat doesn't age well. You have the remake with the awesome combat, but it's not the full story.
i think they gave us a satisfying narrative to justify a whole game. After all the Midgard segment always followed a normal three act structures, doing a full game based on it made sense. It led to us desiring more while feeling mostly) satisfied, kinda like empire strikes back or something. Although the final boss should have been the five turks against our five main heroes rather than a purely fanservice driven (but freaking awesome) final boss

It wasn't just the nostalgia, this game was so much higher quality then most other games today, the cutscenes and animations and music where way over the top, it felt like Square was really pushing much further then other devs who just make live services and asset flips. I'm so glad at least one developer still puts effort into their games in 2020, and we still got another potential GOTY coming out this September too! While the story was a bit weird for older fans like me, _those damn plot ghosts!_ It's still my favorite game in a long time, possibly my game of the gen, I can't wait for the next episode when the world opens up and we get Cloud and Sephiroth's backstory retold.

I've been a fan of FF since the NES one I got from a neighbor and have been hooked ever since until 13... ff7 Remake to me proves Square Enix can still make God Tier singleplayer RPGs after a disappointing past decade, to say the least. Here's hoping Remake 2 continues with the tremendous quality and fixes some of the flaws.

True, until then I had no interest in buying a final fantasy game or even picking up the 7 remake. But the fact that it was a 2020 game that's still basically brand new made me want to give it a try and today I first started playing and my mind has been blown by how amazing the game is. But idk if I should pick up the dlc or expansion bc i got the game free with plus and if I ever cancel it then there goes my access to ff7 remake

This, it really makes me sad and wonder wth happened with DQ11 because the music in that game was so subpar to the point of shocking how garbage it was. The music in this game is some of the best and rivals all the music from the glory days of Square as the SNES PS1 games.

If your needing a final fantasy fix didn’t square enix just release the Trials of Mana Remake on Switch PS4 and Xbox? It’s also really fuckin awesome. Complete different in tone and visual style than FF7 but still fuckin awesome. In fact I cannot fuckin understand why they would release two major releases in the same month, it’s set up Trials of Mana to fail. It was really stupid on square enix’s part to do that because both games deserve praise and attention

Also love the attention to detail in this game. Like Rude won't throw Tifa cause he has a crush on her. It shows so much love and dedication to the original, even with the slight changes making it not a true remake, it is a great example of what a remake should be.

Just a hand massage. It was an intentional play on words that gave subliminal messages of a sexual kind. Theres alot of these events in the original that are reversed: made to look like non sexual but is in the extremes.
This games subtext would make for a great hentai (very mature themes at least) and that probably exists already somewhere on the internet.

It really sucks this isn't the whole game. You have a situation like what Joe is in. The original has a mindblowing story, but the combat doesn't age well. You have the remake with the awesome combat, but it's not the full story.
I actually liked the combat when I played it earlier this year
It does, but I completely understand why they did it now. We got a pretty meaty 40 hour game in the first part though

i think they gave us a satisfying narrative to justify a whole game. After all the Midgard segment always followed a normal three act structures, doing a full game based on it made sense. It led to us desiring more while feeling mostly) satisfied, kinda like empire strikes back or something. Although the final boss should have been the five turks against our five main heroes rather than a purely fanservice driven (but freaking awesome) final boss

I genuinely don't know how anyone who hasn't played the original game can remotely follow what the hell happened in the final hours of remake. The remake was a way for a whole new generation of people to experience the story of FF7, and they are probably assuming that this IS that story. It isn't.
Sephiroth is the final boss of Midgar? When we haven't been given a single bit of explanation who he is? That must've been great for newcomers. Oh, and he is aware of the events of the original game? Who is this game made for?

It wasn't just the nostalgia, this game was so much higher quality then most other games today, the cutscenes and animations and music where way over the top, it felt like Square was really pushing much further then other devs who just make live services and asset flips. I'm so glad at least one developer still puts effort into their games in 2020, and we still got another potential GOTY coming out this September too!
While the story was a bit weird for older fans like me, _those damn plot ghosts!_ It's still my favorite game in a long time, possibly my game of the gen, I can't wait for the next episode when the world opens up and we get Cloud and Sephiroth's backstory retold.

I've been a fan of FF since the NES one I got from a neighbor and have been hooked ever since until 13... ff7 Remake to me proves Square Enix can still make God Tier singleplayer RPGs after a disappointing past decade, to say the least. Here's hoping Remake 2 continues with the tremendous quality and fixes some of the flaws.
