Thank you Joe for this - so question - pushing the sled with weight - assuming this is an open-chain exercise? At first I thought closed because the bars of the sled are stationary but now I am thinking it's open-chain???
Hi Haylee! We like to think of closed-chain exercises as one where you're pushing into a stable object like the ground, whereas open-chain exercises are where you're pushing yourself (or weight) into space.
Learned so much with yoy coach, thanks you so much
My pleasure!

A sled push would be a closed-chain exercise because you are moving the sled by putting force into the ground.
Really appreciate you explaining this, you have explained it so well, now I fully get it.
I'm so glad!
What about a leg press machine?
Open chain exercise.
So, open kinetic chain exercises are not something that you’re using whether it a machine , db, barbell, but not connected to the ground..
