Thank you so much for this video and the others showing these gorgeous traditional craft. I have recently considered the idea of trying out a lateen sail on my boat and this video illustrate the experts in Sicily with this traditional sail. Very inspiring.

The lateen sail is considered as the first fore and aft rig and has successfully survived for centuries in the Mediterranean and elsewhere.. so you may notice some variables in the set up of these boats from one country to the other and sometimes from one locality to another ...but their elegance and charm is universal …..good luck

Great boats, I want to buy a lateen sail boat but I did not see many in Turkey. As much as I see from videos, these are more common in Italy. Is there a fb group where I can find boats for sale?
