I so fell in love with Lea Thompson ... Back to the Future ... my most favorite Some Kind of Wonderful. But my most most most favorite ... and by far the really most wonderful one is the Substitute Wife ... I love that movie so much. .. it is such a beautiful love story.
Howard the Duck was not a failure for all the adolescents of that time :) It opened my mind on how to watch a movie even radical movies and characters. :)
It's interesting when you find out a other actor/actress was supposed to act in a role they turned down. Then you can't imagine any other actor playing the part another one turned down. Each actor brings something uniquely theirs to a character and that makes it their own.
Seriously? "The hardships she faced after being a mother in Hollywood"??? Who wrote this tripe? Please buy yourself a dictionary. "Hardship" is defined as "severe suffering". Being half of an insanely rich, privileged, successful couple with a loving, stable marriage and two beautiful, healthy children is hardly a hardship by any stretch of one's imagination. There are many hardships in this world. This most certainly does not qualify as one.
"Stocky" by entertainment standards, I guess. Successful dancers have a very specific "acceptable" body type. In reality, she was rail thin and in incredible shape. She had a great body!
Off the top of my head Angelina Jolie has given birth twice and still got parts in motion pictures.. I'm sure there are others as well that I'm just not thinking of..
There are lots of successful, working actresses with children they've given birth to. She was no great actress. She had her time on the big screen and then time moved on. Don't blame it on "the placenta". Ridiculous!!!
Yes Lea is one year younger than me so you know I still have a crush on her.I have dated girls way prettier than her but would have dropped any of them to be with her 😆

I totally agree. I never understood how someone so average-looking-at-best got major movie roles, and was always hired to portray some ideal fantasy girl. Yes, being a dancer, she was thin with a fit body, but certainly not beautiful, and barely pretty even with top notch, expensive, professional hair and makeup. I actually always found her kind of homely. There's just something weird about her face. Her daughter Zoey however, the only one of her daughters I've see on TV, actually looked quite pretty when I saw her. Most importantly, she seems like a truly lovely and very down to earth girl. To their credit, Leah and Howard seemed to have raised a lovely, grounded, young woman. I guess Leah's appeal to Howard was all it took to launch her career. Apparently, he found her beautiful and expected the rest of us to follow suit. Not to be mean, but realistically I'd put her at a 4/10 at the very most.
