I find it very interesting to see that many beginners actually never realy know how to hit. There is actually no swing going but always this strange pushing motion of the racket. I really wish I knew how to quickly improve that with beginners. Seems it has to do with a kind of confidence of being able to hit a moving target and therefor not using the wrist. I think actually hitting the ball is secundary to be able to perform a technically good whack with a racket. Maybe you have some tips to help people quickly improve that.
people who have experience with similar sports like badminton or tennis tend to latch on to the technique faster compared to ppl who pick squash as their first. Their wrist and forearms usually tend to get locked when driving the ball so it is bit difficult to teach them the proper technique.

According to my opinion three is no reason to teach a drive in such a static position. It doesn’t help, you can create friendly environments for beginners without this position as well. Also racket preparation is part of the swing, not to forget that racket preparation helps create space which is essential for hitting a good drive.
I like the way he is encouraging here.
😄😄😄
Bryan is a brilliant coach - one of the best.

I think it’s because as a beginner you don’t have any knowledge of the technique
So the force comes from the wrist not the arm? I just took my first lesson yesterday and I made the same mistakes as her

Is there a series of videos like this for beginners? I’m very new myself but also want to help my 10 year old son improve basic skills.
