Blew the passenger shaft out my rear diff on the weekend, looks to be old dodgy work coming to bite me back. Wondering what diffs I can swap under my hj60
Yeah I did have a 60 box in it before that with 60 backing plates but broke 4 teeth off first gear so I put my original box back in from when it was 2h
So a hzj75 troopy rear will work correctly on a hj47? Will it work if you have the 4 speed box ? just need to move the spring perches ? I've got a full doner hzj75 troopy tempted to move the 1hz over too so this is good news if i can move over even more stuff...
Does the hzj have the same rear diff weight rating as a hj47 rear diff Hj47 2550kg weight rated for rear Front diff are 1300kg hj47 This is from Toyota A brochure they sent me
This question relates more to the previous video of the 79 Series, but is there a business reason why you focus on 40's and 60's specifically? My guess would be that it helps keep parts inventory and space usage in the yard to a minimum. And what would you recommend customers do if they have a 75 or 80 Series that needs work done?
Quite literally just space and time mate, we started as 40's only and then started taking 60's a couple years ago. Would love to do more series but need a bigger yard first.
Ok, you may end up with good brakes , but your hand brake goes from good, to rubbish if your hand brake shoes are in the back diff, Every 80 owner whinges they have no hand brake
@@MrLandcruiser Iam talking hand brake Ive got a 1990 - 80 series same hand brake its a fantastic hand brake as long as there not got oil licking in them there great, I been working on 4wds mainly 40s, 60s, 75s. 80s for over 40 years I do not need research,

What years diff assembly are we talking about for the swap?
What year diff assembly will work with this swap?
My hj47 already came with the transfer handbrake on the 5 speed you don’t see it very much
Correct but we all fut 60 series box's in without it

80 series has 30 spline axles so centers are interchangable with a bit of work
That's it mate :)
🇯🇵👍🎥👍 thanks, good luck!!!!
Thanks 👍
TheNextCrest... so the diff centres are interchangeable. Is the Track of the Hzj75 compliant to the 1988 vx 60.?
I would love disc brakes on the rear of my Hj61 VX
No mate, 75 and 79 are the same, 60 is wider. But yes would be cool!
Land cruiser disc break Rears hopeless for chopping out brake pads in the mud

Hj47 2550kg weight rated for rear
Front diff are 1300kg hj47

This is a downgrade in handbrake if you already had a handbrake rear installed.

@@MrLandcruiser Ah I thought that might be the case. I suppose it'll evolve as time goes on.

Goes from good did you say? You may need more research. 40 Series drums are outdated and the worse of all.....

More porn loving the content. Have been tossing up doing this conversion myself. Drums work but out dated
