he has so much potential to be such an emotional character with depth his internal conflicts with ptsd, his brother, the line between the empath and the warrior, he really is one of the best
Great episode. Loved this character ever since the JL animated series, he was so well written on that show. Also the only time I think the comics did him some justice was Martian Manhunter(Vol. 2) #0.
I love Martian Manhunter. He seriously needs his own animated movie. It's time DC stop worshiping Batman and finally give Martian Manhunter at least ONE animated film.
Amen. Bats is cool enough, but I've never found any of his movies to be "that good". Martian Manhunter would be an actually interesting counter to the otherwise dreadfully boring Superman movies.
Listening to the show as I find time between researching videos for my Martian Manhunter 60th Anniversary Special Part 2 as part of The Idol-Head of Diabolu Podcast. Excellent work done on the first 14 minutes. Very informative and avoids many common factual landmines. I think "New Mars" was referenced once or twice in the early '80s, but for most of the Bronze Age the surviving Martians actually adopted a planet more commonly dubbed Mars II. J'Onn J'Onzz was not collected by other Martians in 1969. He had been exiled from Martian society for 13 years (per a retcon,) but upon serving his sentence, return to find Mars in the midst of a holocaust engineered by his nemesis, Commander Blanx. The survivors rocketed away on a space ark, and J'onn J'onzz spent the next few years tracking them to the planet Vonn, which presumably became Mars II.
52:28 Concerning the diversity of the Justice League, do you think they would make John Stewart the Green Lantern in the DC cinematic universe? A lot of people in mainstream pop culture already see him as Green Lantern due to the Justice League cartoon. So it would fit from a marketing stand-point.
Does the Manhunter part of his name/title have anything to do with THE Manhunters that were created by the Guardians? Great and really interesting episode.
In my opinion, a better version, almost revision, of Superman. One with wit, intelligence, and real pathos. Ultra-powerful, yet any thug with a lighter can neutralize his powers.

Can you do a history of Starman? You could go through all of the different men to hold the title, and then Stargirl.
