1:13 san has always been good at singing it's the main reason why he got accepted in kq he has a wide vocal range and very versatile voice. his vocal color and technique is impressive. He is often place 2nd by vocal coaches next to jongho when it comes to vocal and he will prove it to you in their bsides songs and his short cover/clips of him singing. he always do many adlibs for their songs and often harmonize with jongho.
I think its trying to say is that he worked very hard to improved his dancing because he does not know how to dance before but because of his Hardwork, effort and passion He is now often mistaken as the main dancer of ateez and being looked up as a role model by many rookies, San is very very inspiring person and what makes me love him more is his whole personality. He has a very positive mindset, very humble and respectful and always so full of love for his members and other people. He is not shy to show affection to them and always hype and compliment them everytime. He is the most wholesome person ever.
Interesting fact: san said in vlive and interview that he composed songs before but because he needs to focus in improving his dancing he tells the ceo that he will stop creating songs and will focus in dancing.

1:29 just so you know, this is wrong and misinformation, he's ALWAYS been good at singing, even jongho said that vocally speaking, after him, the next one is san, his technique is so good, i mean he's the lead vocalist after all. Now what he actually had to improve was his dancing, not singing.

Yeah he entered through singing and has always been the best after Jongho, which is also why he was in the final line up. However, he wasn’t as good at dancing or at the level he was during debut, until they trained in LA. The members often say that in terms of performance and dancing it’s like he became a whole different person when they came back to Korea. He is a black belt in taekwondo, so I think that helped him tremendously as his basis of dancing.
