I don't want anyone to have to watch this tutorial as much as I have, so here you go.
for those wondering an estimate build time: I started this build on the 24th of April in survival. If I had to guess, I roughly played for 3/4 of the days in a week, and each play session being around an hour to 3/4 hours. Since I had to constantly get the materials and etc, a lot of the time wasn't me building but rather preparing. Not to mention, sometimes the camera angles weren't clear so I had to restart a few parts many times. I finished the build today on the 8th of May. I used my Nintendo Switch to watch this video and I normally don't use my switch for yt, and it says that I have 30 hours of youtube on my switch. This means that my Nintendo switch was on youtube for this build for probably 28 of the hours. Soooo a rough survival buildtime estimate is around 25-32ish hours if you played non stop. If you played 3-4 days in a week for around 1 hour- 4 hours it would probably take around 2 weeks. Overall, its super worth it, its a great big project and it looks great in my world. Good luck :)
Hardest part is getting the middle layer to line up with the top one without actual measurments but i tried it anyways and still made a ship that looks alot like it if not better
honestly took me forever to do. i had to pause and slow down to .25 every 2-5 secs just to follow an understand. the build came out great but omg was it near impossible to follow at times. i had to redo parts so much because of how fast with out explaining or giving some part measurement.
I had to look at a picture and go from there the only thing this video helped me with was size even then was kinda trash and I made the railing but removed it right away cause I switched back to survival
@DinoCyclone that's not the issue. Rare measurements. Bro flies everywhere (most are doing this in survival). "Make it 3d"🤨. At the end he just stopped caring and started copy pasting stuff on. Definitely the absolute worst guide I've ever seen on TH-cam
Playback at .25 and this tutorial actually made a perfect replica. I suggest everyone to playback at slower speeds if they cannot keep up. This is actually a good tutorial
After finishing the build it turned out great but I give this building tutorial a 7 out of 10 some parts were clear and others weren't but overall nice job!!!
In addition to the angles that are kind of bad n made in layers q like someone in survival would do, A TIP TO WHOM YOU WANT TO DO: Do it in layers from the end of the hull upwards, skipping the video and seeing how you do it from the bottom up
This was hard and annoying to follow, especially the bottom, but I finally fixed it, good build, just make it easier to follow. Edit: wow, just one part almost made me set my computer on fire.
i’m currently building in survival, took me 2 days to get all the material and i spent today building. all i have left to do is the sails and front, i will most likely finish tomorrow!
I like the result but the tutorial is not good. But like I said I still like the result... 😊. Additionally, I think oak would be a better fit instead of birch.
MakE iT 3d How about, you make it an actual tutorial and stop being lazy, or you change the title to “I made the Going Merry.” Because honestly this is an amazing build, but the video itself is not a tutorial or how-to. Some simple parts are very detailed (like the using glass to count distance between mast and the doors) but the more complex parts (like the head and anchor) just jump around. Like I said, amazing build, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of the structure of the video itself.
for anyone who was confused by this video try doing step 3 or the bottom of the boat first then doing the glass thing with gray concreate then do the top it makes life way easier
