Beautiful cat!! Love the center-forward helm position! What kind of speed do you normally see out of her? I know conditions vary, but just curious. Also, do you get any electrolysis problems with a steel anchor and chain on an aluminum boat?
We could easily get to double digits but averaged about 210 nm a day. We had kids and amateur crew on board so typically sailed fairly conservatively. Cheers.
Thanks Errol! We are departing mid-November on a circumnavigation with a drone aboard. More footage will show up here as we have it. There are berths available on the trip via our website at www.elcieexpeditions.com.
I have no idea what something like that would sell for? Does anybody have a guess? Just an estimate would be great. Then I’ll know how much money to spend on lottery tickets. LOL blessings
Beautiful dream boat, love the woodwork on White. Little bit too much wood In the holes for my liking. Other than that I can’t fault at all. Beautiful boat. Blessings
@@sailelcie Thanks for the reply! BTW, I had been looking for videos of Elcie during challenging passages. Are there any? Have you decided to keep those for personal viewing only?
Brilliant, the boat looks great.
My dream boat!
I love this boat! Not so fond of the cabins. The designer is a genius!

Great cat
Could you give me an idea of what speeds the boat can achieve while cruising?

Is it a Chris White design? It really has a feel of one of their boats.
@MrGunboat78 Thank you
My account got zapped!
Chris White inspired but built by Devilliers of New Zealand.
@@dancarter482 david de villiers is a south african, but youre right about the boat being built in NZ
hi guys
Is this for sale now?
Nice Cat...funny (reading below!), I like the hulls layout...fly around/stand off pics would be good to see for better context

Has Elcie been sold? Or just leased out for the next expedition? ❓
Yes, Elcie has been sold to Paul Nicklen of SeaLegacy. www.sealegacy.org. They are going to do great things with her!

Having sailed Elcie for @ 10 years, what design changes would you make on her, if any?
