Yes; Capaldi is the Doctor a grown-up for the grown-ups, and what a beauty! There are many DW fans who have been watching since the show started (Capaldi himself, for a start). Some of them have bitterly resented the "growing up" of the Doctor that Moffat and Capaldi presented, feeling I think that their childhood loyalty was being betrayed. But for me, now in my late seventies, 12's story is my story, and the story of my friends -- win some, lose some, do the best you can while slowly, around you, people you love die one by one (until it's your turn); and if the world grows better, it also grows worse, but you still try your best anyway -- because. Just effing gorgeous. Thanks for this tribute.
He even reminds me of 3 when he battles the cybermen with his upgraded sonic, flouncy cuffs flapping as he pulls action man spins and poses. Its like he saved up all his Doctor-ness for the final battle.
He was just a pure and honest and loyal doctor. After the deaths of the Ponds he was just so hurt. First I hated Capaldi but the more I rewatch Doctor Who the more I love him. Now he is one of the doctors. In my Opinion... ❤️

Capaldi is my favorite doctor. The maturity he brought to the character was refreshing and needed. I wish the scripts he got were consistently good tho. He got a lot of duds mixed in with gems throughout his time. I'll never forget the Zygon Inversion speech about war.
Honestly I’d all of them had a number of duds. I think there’s a certain unfair bias viewers have when comparing RTD’s and Moffat’s era. It’s a show. Each actor had good episodes and bad ones and mediocre ones (of course I’d say each had more good than bad, but still some bad). I don’t care about the duds because the Magician’s apprentice, witch’s familiar, heaven sent, hell bent (to a certain extent; it’s now the first and last Gallifrey episode in new who so it automatically gets love from me no matter how little about Gallifrey it was), the husbands of river song, way more of series 10 than I expected, world enough time, the doctor falls (if you ask me the best series finale thus far, but opinion), and twice upon a time are some of my favorite stories in all of Doctor Who. He can have as many duds as he wants if his good ones are the contenders for “best episode in the show’s history”. I loved Capaldi’s Doctor and am still sad he’s gone. Honestly I tried to give Chibnall and 13 a chance but they get no sentiment from me. I never needed every episode to be good or even okay. I just needed that one really good episode that made 13 look remotely good. “It takes you away” was almost it in series 11, but Chibnall couldn’t give any focus to the good and remotely original idea he had the whole series. Series 12 nearly had it with it “can you hear me” if not for that insulting line from the Doctor at the end. ANY OTHER DOCTOR WOULD HAVE SAID THE PERFECT THING TO HELP THEIR FRIEND. Yes they’re socially awkward, but that never stopped the thousand year old universe traveling timelord from bestowing wisdom and good advice before. Then the series 12 finale just showed that when Chibnall gets it wrong, its not just a bad episode or even a contender for “worse episode ever”; it actually rips up 50+ years of great stories, takes a shit on it, lights it on fire, and then has the gall to be the most boring and poorly episode ever that brings home how 1d the doctor and her companions are after 2 series.

Thank you for including Eccleston, even just a little. Too often he is left out and I don't understand why. We have Doctor Who today because Eccleston did a fantastic job of reintroducing the Doctor. It makes me sad when he's left out, he was a great Doctor.

Peter Capaldi will always be my favourite Doctor. I watch through all of them again and in my opinion he had the most drastic/noticeable character developments. From season 8 where he was moody, stubborn and not a hugger, to season 10 where he became so much more alive, fun, cracking jokes and hugging his friends whenever he can. Such an amazing portrayal of the Doctor. Loved this edit, best one I’ve seen

Doctor who is like poetry. It rhymes. The doctor is like every line in that poem. Eventually it changes but there are still similarities. It tells a story we all can take in a different way. Happy, sad, good, bad, and hell... even goofy. But what also makes a poem is its ability to move us all.

Same here Tennant is my fav one, and Capaldi was not really in my top since this season (I discovered that the problem [for me] wasn't 12th but Clara), and when Bill arrived with Nardole, it became one of my favorite season, and Capaldi one of my favorite doctor. And I love his coat. (AH, someone is telling me that we don't care xD )

The doctors the reasons I wear bow ties to work. It gives me hope. I'll never forget the days I've watched all of the releases all of the moments all of the memories. The doctor shall always live in my heart and I shall never forget when the doctor was him. And when the companion was her. Edit: I commented this since this video made me quite emotional.
a couple of years ago I happened to see this video. At that time I was drowning in self-hatred, seeing myself as a complete failure, and till today I see the mess I made because of my younger self. I wished I had a TARDIS so I could go back and redo everything, since now I know what I should have done at that time. I just realized that we all have our own TARDIS, which as the Doctor said, called Life. Remembering the past can make us relive what we experienced, thinking ahead makes us go to the future, and the present is the now that we have to face. We'll face hard times that'll challenge us, meet people who we have to face eventually, and sometimes lose those who were by our side. Like the Doctor, who saved and lost many, we can do nothing but to keep moving on. Hopefully through this I'll be able to pick myself up and live on feeling good that I'm me. Thanks for the incredible editing, as it helped me think, even for a second, that being stuck in my past failures won't help me to move on, and that by clearing my negative thoughts will I be able to notice the best times of my past life, and the best that'll come after.
Le docteur est vraiment un personnage à part entière. Au premier abord il paraît plutôt simple. Un alien qui sauve des gens, mais plus on avance dans la série, plus on se rend compte que le docteur est bien plus complexe que ça, ce personnage est attachant, transmet des valeurs mais a aussi des défauts qu'il peine à cacher. It's amazing and I love how you carried on the parallels/what was said about him for each doctor - And you showed how deep the doctor is which is quite strange considering the show changes 'character/actor' all the time. I believe that series 10s ending is the saddest in DW history. The quote "I hoped there'd be stars" always gets me. I honestly believed it should've ended there, in my opinion Chibnall should've left Doctor Who untouched...
The best thing you can do in character writing, is get your character's core values and challenge them. It's why I love stories like water on Mars and heaven sent. Lots of people don't, and I get that, but I feel they are a good because rather than high impact premise they are an exploration of that era's doctor.
Sadly I haven't been able to catch this year's season of Doctor Who, the last season featuring the brilliant Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. In the process I have slightly forgotten why I am a Whovian in the first place. This video reminded me why.
I'M CRYING. BEAUTIFUL job! What a montage..... The music, the scene selection, everything. Wonderful job. I'm going to miss Capaldi's doctor. You can see just how good an actor he is his video - he brought something real and special to the Doctor
13 is okay but she isn't the same. She doesn't have that, look in her eye, that swagger, she doesn't have that loneliness that the others had, not in the same way at least.
Saying good bye to all of them starts me off. People say they have their favourite doctor. But I just have me favourite moments from all of them. Because they all do something the others can't. And it is heartbreaking when they leave the show because they all contribute something to the doctor that others cannot. This is why I'm not sure how a female doctor will go. I'm hoping they show something truly unique with this new doctor
I come back and rewatch this video every once in a while. It's just so good and it means so much to me. It makes me smile through tears. And it always makes me want to watch all of Doctor Who again

This was fantastic. Lots of videos like this do a good job at showing us the show. But I think this does the best job I've seen in a long time at showing The Doctor. as a character and as a person. How he's changed since 2005 and how his arc has grown. Really brings everything together nicely so well done!

Sbeve Guggenheim we’ll fire in the water was ‘important’ for the plot. And maybe baby speech is simpler and ends quicker?

Peter Capaldi will always be my favourite Doctor. I watch through all of them again and in my opinion he had the most drastic/noticeable character developments. From season 8 where he was moody, stubborn and not a hugger, to season 10 where he became so much more alive, fun, cracking jokes and hugging his friends whenever he can. Such an amazing portrayal of the Doctor.

Peter Capaldi was my favorite iteration of The Doctor. He was incredible. So, so incredible.
proof why Doctor Who is one of the most influential and important shows to exist. it has legitimate messages that pull at our heart strings. i showed my friend whos never seen DW this and he said he couldnt choose who was the better Doctor, all gave powerful performances and showed that the Doctor is not only a alien, but is as human as us. i couldnt agree more.
Doctor who is like poetry. It rhymes. The doctor is like every line in that poem. Eventually it changes but there are still similarities. It tells a story we all can take in a different way. Happy, sad, good, bad, and hell... even goofy. But what also makes a poem is its ability to move us all.

Tennant is my fav one, and Capaldi was not really in my top since this season (I discovered that the problem [for me] wasn't 12th but Clara), and when Bill arrived with Nardole, it became one of my favorite season, and Capaldi one of my favorite doctor. And I love his coat. (AH, someone is telling me that we don't care xD )

The doctors the reasons I wear bow ties to work. It gives me hope. I'll never forget the days I've watched all of the releases all of the moments all of the memories. The doctor shall always live in my heart and I shall never forget when the doctor was him. And when the companion was her.

a couple of years ago I happened to see this video.
At that time I was drowning in self-hatred, seeing myself as a complete failure, and till today I see the mess I made because of my younger self. I wished I had a TARDIS so I could go back and redo everything, since now I know what I should have done at that time.
I just realized that we all have our own TARDIS, which as the Doctor said, called Life.
Remembering the past can make us relive what we experienced, thinking ahead makes us go to the future, and the present is the now that we have to face.
We'll face hard times that'll challenge us, meet people who we have to face eventually, and sometimes lose those who were by our side.
Like the Doctor, who saved and lost many, we can do nothing but to keep moving on. Hopefully through this I'll be able to pick myself up and live on feeling good that I'm me.
Thanks for the incredible editing, as it helped me think, even for a second, that being stuck in my past failures won't help me to move on, and that by clearing my negative thoughts will I be able to notice the best times of my past life, and the best that'll come after.

Le docteur est vraiment un personnage à part entière. Au premier abord il paraît plutôt simple. Un alien qui sauve des gens, mais plus on avance dans la série, plus on se rend compte que le docteur est bien plus complexe que ça, ce personnage est attachant, transmet des valeurs mais a aussi des défauts qu'il peine à cacher. Vive le docteur!

It's amazing and I love how you carried on the parallels/what was said about him for each doctor - And you showed how deep the doctor is which is quite strange considering the show changes 'character/actor' all the time. I believe that series 10s ending is the saddest in DW history. The quote "I hoped there'd be stars" always gets me. I honestly believed it should've ended there, in my opinion Chibnall should've left Doctor Who untouched...
The best thing you can do in character writing, is get your character's core values and challenge them. It's why I love stories like water on Mars and heaven sent. Lots of people don't, and I get that, but I feel they are a good because rather than high impact premise they are an exploration of that era's doctor.

Saying good bye to all of them starts me off. People say they have their favourite doctor. But I just have me favourite moments from all of them. Because they all do something the others can't. And it is heartbreaking when they leave the show because they all contribute something to the doctor that others cannot. This is why I'm not sure how a female doctor will go. I'm hoping they show something truly unique with this new doctor

This was fantastic. Lots of videos like this do a good job at showing us the show. But I think this does the best job I've seen in a long time at showing The Doctor. as a character and as a person. How he's changed since 2005 and how his arc has grown. Really brings everything together nicely so well done!
