Yes! Grafting stitch! A knitter's bestie. I love how you explained it.!.. It took my chaos brain YEARS of explaining to actually understand. This was so simple and perfect
This opens up a whole new set of ideas to explore. Between giving new life to what you already have to thrift store finds. I love that you are meticulous in showing new skills and ideas. It makes things a bit less intimidating to try.
Cool! My guess how this could be done was pretty solid. I've done similar to hoodies to replace destroyed sleeve cuffs - using heavier weight t-shirt jersey from the backs of shirts that were destroyed. I tend to pick jobs that destroy clothing. But... fixing damaged clothing to be "less damaged" has been a great way to learn how to learn to repair clothing I really like and want to look good.
what wizardry is this????? ...i have some hand-me-down sweaters that are too wide by half, and i have a 1980s-does-1880s purple acrylic bicycling sweater that's too long in the torso...and now i know how to fix them!! mind = blown! :)
I need to do this with a gorgeous men's cashmere sweater i thrifted along the bottom hem. The only issue is that it's a finely cabled sweater and i just don't have the capacity to tackle it right now. Luckily, we're going into summer, so i have time to mentally prepare.

Ha- thank you! It’s kind of a tricky one to wrap one’s head around, it took me a while to get it too.

I have absolutely zero skills for knitting but here I'm, this looks so neat
Knitting can be a bit much- but if you think about it like embroidery and not knitting 🤷♀️
This is incredibly informative! Knit is a little daunting for me but it seems there’s some interesting things you can do with it!😊
That was really cool! As a non knitter/crocheter, knits normally scare me. But I could definitely do this alteration. Thank you 🙂

Yes! Repaired clothing tells a story, so that’s pretty cool.
This is a great technique! I've been scared to try to alter any of my sweaters but this makes it seem way less of a scary job
Super helpful and clear. Thank you so much!!!!
hadn't even considered this a possible idea, and it doesn't even look too hard. So cool. Appreciate hearing more about your knitting expertise.
Thank you! It’s not too difficult once you get the hang of it, just takes some patience 😅
wow, that's immensely useful. don't know if I'll actually have the patience to implement the technique, though

Yes!!! Cheers to hand done alterations and a wardrobe with custom fit! And a 1980s purple cycling sweater sounds awesome!!
Ingenious!
What fabulous timing! (On your part.. I did just serge-crop a sweater vest, but will redo with this technique, it came out slightly too long anyway!)
Oh nice! I’ve actually got a sweater vest I’m thinking of cropping too- it’s exactly the same just takes a bit longer 😅
Great job. 😃👍👍👍
Thank you!!
