I've been hot air ballooning. One of the best things I ever experienced. Closest thing to being a bird. We were over thoroughbred race horse land and the balloons spook horses so we ended up touching down in a neighborhood. Three house's front lawns. The owners were invited out to share wine and cheese with us, which apparently was traditional to do when a balloon operator landed on your property, according to our pilot. Great experience and highly recommend!
Looks like a lot of fun and can't imagine what is going to happen Monday, having fun! Never will forget when I was stationed in Phoenix (Luke AFB), woke up one morning to the whooshing sound. Looked out the window and up, and they were flying over my house. The balloon festival launch site was a couple miles away. Had one land a block from me in an open field.
I have been to a few hot air balloon festivals, but never the big one in Albuquerque. Lucky you. I think you already said what the surprise in part 2 is. When talking to Phil and Stacy, you said "We landed there". And the new sticker confirms it. You went for a hot air balloon ride.
When we stayed at the RVark it was built on a old dump. You were told no fires close to the ground because of the seating methane gas. Our cat was also sick for the entire week. Balloons were magnificent
I was pulling my rig into the south Fiesta lot on the west side of the "box" Wednesday morning and saw a guy pass me on an electric bike. I told my daughter that the guy on the bike looked like Matt from the TH-cam channel of Matt's Rv Reviews. Little did I know!!!
This event is on my bucket list. It looks absolutely beautiful there. Can't wait for Monday's video. Hi Phil and Stacey. Matt, are you on the Balloon sticker? 👍
