    How do you get that old classic comic book theme for your retropie? I don't see option for that theme.... Help!

    No external amp is needed the amped speaker port on the LCD controller board works fine for sound (the white 4 pin port above the 3.5mm jack)

    • @EliteC64
      @EliteC64 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marvinho8794 no, I just carefully clipped away the 2 port plastic connector and pulled the crimped ends out then added some heatshrink to them each for insulation then plugged then onto the LCD boards amped port pins. Avoid using any 3.5mm Jack ports as that badly lowers the audio quality.

    I have a newer TMNT A1up cabinet. The stock speakers are situated below the marquee and above the monitor. The wire for these stock speakers is an 3.5mm Aux cord.
    Here's the question - If I plug the 3.5mm aux cord from the stock speakers into the amp using a 3.5mm Female to 2 RCA Male Stereo Audio Y Cable and then another aux cord into the MP3 port > Raspberry Pi, will I get sound? I think I should, but I just wanted to see if you tested this recently and can confirm. Thanks for all your content!

      Hey there I'm not sure. I haven't used a recent arcade1up that shares this setup. It sounds like it should work though. You may need to adjust your audio source within retropie though. You could probably even plug directly into the pi and bypass the amp completely if you wanted. Volume could be adjusted within retropie though that's usually very limiting as games have different volume levels by default.

    Hey thank you for this! I have a quick question; can you put a subwoofer into this amplifier and better speakers? If so, where would you get the subwoofer connected? Thank you!

      Hey there, probably can but I'm not really savvy with audio stuff at all. I'm not sure how subwoofers connect in.

    i recently bought the midway legacy and on my first day the new volume slider (that lets you adjust from 0-15, rather than having off, medium, or high) gets stuck going all the way up or all the way down. i am highly considering purchasing an amp to have an easier and more reliable audio adjuster. i will get a replacement slider if arcade1up permits but i am unsure if it will be any better

      Ah man that sucks! Those volume controls can be pretty cheap. I have heard of this happening with others as well. The amp definitely gives you more control. You can’t easily access it that’s the only thing but the sound is stable so you can typically find a good adjusted volume level and keep it there,

    This might be a stupid question but I don't seem to have the HDMI option in my sound settings. I'm using the Pi 3 i think. Does that make a difference?

    I heard it's better quality sound to plug the 3.5 into the HDMI controller

    • @RetroGamingGuy
      @RetroGamingGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t notice a difference personally but it’s certainly possible.

    • @dcents5458

      When I plug the 3.5 into the lcd converter I only get mono. And when I switch to the 3.5 out of the pi and switch it to that in the audio menu, I then get nice stereo out of both speakers I am using.

      Are you modifying it with a raspberry pi? The audio is a pain to her connection with pis. It took me several times before the connection was made. This is typical with raspberry pis in general. They always struggle with connecting to audio whether internet tv, speakers, or headphones. You could have it done 100% correct and it not connect for a couple tries before it finally establishes the connection. It drove me nuts my first time because I kept changing things around thinking it was my error.

      You can adjust volume within the software but it only works for minor tweaking it really doesn't change the master volume level all that much.
