That dream win within a nightmare in Johannesburg, will forever bring tears to my eyes as well. It was an important win that felt impossible, but wow... we did it =)
Watching this now (April 2024) you have an insight of what goes on "behind the scenes" and a greater appreciation of what it means to be an ABs supporter and it also reminded you of who was the coach ( All the best Fozzie)
Aaron Smith. We miss you at the All Blacks this year. You are a good all blacks half backs. I like the way you're playing you've talked always and push the forwards at the scrum time even the moul. Love Aaron Smith💙💚❤️💓🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍✋✋
Man, that was INTENSE! Just watching it was difficult, funny, beautiful, all at the same time (Look whose standing next to Jason Ryan in the team photo at 2:56 pulling those hilarious faces) The documentary covers a "tough time" (coach's words) in AB history (I guess they all are in different ways) - and it shows what warriors these players and coaches are. All the men in this video are amazing and they spoke with honesty to the core, making their interviews timeless. In my opinion, this is one of the best sports documentaries you'll ever see. In fifty years time people will watch this video and be proud of their old forebears. All the technical skills of production and editing were also AB standard. Superb at all levels. Thank you to all involved. 👏👏👏
Here's a part of the jigsaw puzzle of the Crusaders success alongside Scott Robertson...glad he's on the All Black's coaching staff👍... gives our Hurricanes some relief 😂😂😂
Aaron Smith in this episode said they caught 5 out of 14 box kicks. So in the World Cup final, he does the exact opposite and does alot of box kicks and gives the ball back to the Springboks. What a waste of ball possession. We all know the end result!
The irony of this episode starting with a scrum when its the All black coaches who have made it their mission to persuade World Rugby to depower the Springbok scrum. Their constant bleating and gaslighting about the fans desire to watch running, bobby dazzle rugby, to "speed up" the game, how the "fans" don't want to watch scrummaging etc. Gatland too on the bandwagon. Funny that.
Wow. Can't exactly say the All Blacks are humble players. 🙄Always amazed how they are unable to admit that the other team is better. 😂Still waiting for them to publicly congratulate the Springboks on winning the World cup. 🤨
I suspect we'll be waiting a long time, if ever. Wonder if they whinged as much when Los Pumas beat them on home soil? Or do they only whinge and blame the ref & TMO when they lose to the Boks? Interesting that already back then, the ABs themselves (incl coaches) identified that ill discipline was costing them, yet it continued throughout RWC23 (which most ABs supporters seem to deny as a serious issue) & contributed towards their loss in the final. I respect the AB players as formidable opponents & I think they respect the Boks for the same reason, but their fans have shown that they are in deep denial, are sore & sour losers, have shown poor sportsmanship (none, really), zero grace and humility, and still insist they were 'robbed' of the Webb Ellis trophy in 2023. The Springboks won fair and square, with no serious discipline issues (unlike the ABs with Frizell's cynical 'supposedly accidental fall' on Mbonambi's leg right at the start ruling him out for the rest of the game, hard head clash with Kriel due to upright tackling technique with no mitigating action taken - and it was nothing like Kolisi's tackle when he was yellow-carded, etc, etc). Been rather disappointing tbh. At least the Springboks show humility in defeat and even when they win.
I guess everyone has their own perspective. If you truely knew you would know they respect SA more than any other side but in reality they respect all their opponents. They freely admit they get beaten by better sides. That’s why they win more than any other side. Kiwi fans no different to SA fans. You only see what you want to. Both fan groups were eye patches.

I never realized what a nice and likeable fella Jason is. He looks like the bloke who could swallow you whole and just spit out the toe nails.

Should've called this... Chasing the Boks... hahaha
Discipline needs to be a major focus
Riche’s face is sculpted by hard hits and hard training
Why have New Zealand rugby banned Argentina access to NZR+?

Nugget would make a great coach
