The newer versions are definitely better. And seeing the evolution is helpful. :) This actually reminded me of Bowser in the Mario Movie lol. They said for a while Bowser was just angry and not likable in their brainstorming/first drafts, but they fixed that by Jack Black making Bowser a secret romantic who sings the Peaches song.
