The old one still seems to be the better version by far, I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first by the way. .
The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly because money left saving will end up with no returns
you don't need that much, as long as you have 250k to 350k in cash, and earn at least 40k plus is fine. It not like you are going to pay the car off, get the car, drive it for a year or two then get something else. You don't need millions of money to enjoy nice things. You just deploy a small amount of income to have some fun. Remember you are going to get this money back ( a good percentage) when you move it.
I agree with you, so if it costs 30k a year to drive a 200-350k car, when you are earning 350-400k a year that works. Not like you are paying cash, you put down 10-20%, finance and enjoy. Then get rid of it and try another exotic one. In the meantime the person is still saving 3-10k a month (or more) of their income and still building wealth.
Honestly this cannot be overemphasized, helping people mitigate unforseen circumstances and mistakes .It's always good to have a financial plan,
If you got 10x the price sitting in your bank account... you already making bad financial decision
I like the old one better.
I like the new better. The old one was more generic design.
I like the front of the old one more to be honest. It has more contrast, more definiteness to it's shape, and tbh the headlights just fit well. On the new one they kinda of I terrupt the flow
It's not the same vibe
Sad that this can be said for 90% of facelifts
The new one is less iconic I think
They got rid of the piano black interior trim. That's a win
thank god
I think they nailed it. They kept the distinct rear end while incorporating their new design style into the front leds while keeping the shape.
Fr, I’m glad they kept the rear end. The front was never bad looking, it was just plain. The rear was very good looking.
I love how they didn't stick the shifter onto the steering column like the hyundais
Having used one now for about a year, once you get used to it, it's not so bad. And i love that it frees up space in the center. My only quib is that I really loved resting my right hand on a traditional stick(even if actually auto) but that is gone with the rotating knob/button "gear selectors" anyway.
Shifter on the steering column is the best thing ever.
sucha eye sore
Wdym!
I love my coloumn shifter on my 06 CR-V 🙃
The old one still rocks... But I also like the redesign.. I understand as the ev6 was the one thing a bit off from their new design language when it comes to headlamp.. It felt like an older design language and it's good they updated it so people can easily identify them from their rare view mirror.... Great job kia..
The ev5/4 looks dope and can't wait for those to come out..
I usually like your videos but you kept comparing the wrong trims together. Like the interior was of the current GT trim while the new one was of the Wind trim. The GT-line this time adound actually get a whole new steering wheel that is a 3 spoke. I also wished you had used a full front view when comparing the vs an angled one. Same goes with the back as well.
I think its a great redesign. Awesome. Its interesting how Kia has these polarizing, radical designs, and like you said, they change switch it up couple of years. I don't even think they need to. There are some brands, they let the design ride out for years without changing that much. All of Kia's vehicles were perfect in every way, design-wise in 2020- 2023 (in my opinion). Now they are changing things up and I hope they stay on point!
I just leased the new redesigned Sorrento and I gotta say, it is pretty amazing.
Polarizing? Please. Lots of creases and edges, aggressive front. That is every modern car these days, it looks like anything you can buy from any brand.
Look much better now
I think its an upgrade, the front used to look disconnect to the back, but now with the slimmer front leds and the slightly new rear lights, the car is way more connected
Nice design Kia. Like the new happier wheel. Congrats in advance for ev30 and ev40 design.
In my opinion,The old front looks better than the new. They should have refreshed the rear.
I have the 2024 EV6 GT Line, and I do prefer that design over the base 2025. But I do think the 2025 GT-Line is quite nice, and wouldn't have mind getting the 2025 as long as it's the GT-Line. I also feel like it's the kind of design that will look much nicer when seeing it in person.
I just bought one 2 like 4 weeks ago
I don't know if it has better styling but it definitely has MORE styling!
Nice new design both front and back, but the interior is just awesome. The steering wheel looks modern and they got rid of any shiny piano black surfaces. The graphics that looked like aftermarket decals are gone and so are the psuedo eco-friendly materials. In their place they added new interior lighting + new tech like the infotainment wifi streaming video, rearview cam mirror, and 360 cam. The batteries are 4th gen so should be more condensed with better cooling and better regeneration.
on further inspection Kia has changed the bumpers and wheels and screens. The colors inside are an upgrade.
New facelift? Haven’t seen one of the old one on the road yet
Those day time running lights remind me of a Cupra, very nice upgrade 👍
Well, I prefer the “old” version. Anyway it’s a great car.
5:08 GT lines have that LED bar, while the standard ones have traditional tiger-nose grill and cannot have that LED bar even as an option
Vehicle to load is a big win either with Kia and Hyundai.
Nice comparison. A few changes you missed.
1) Removed this one because I was wrong. The charge port cover didn't change. I got this from someone else who turned out to be wrong.
2) Infotainment system gets ungraded to the ccNC which includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I believe there will also be a 5 inch screen between the two 12.3 inch screens like in the EV9.
3) As someone else pointed out, they got rid of the piano black trim in the center console.
Correction, the charge port cover has NOT changed between the original and facelift. I own an EV6 and the charge port cover is exactly the same.
@amperformance7998 Thanks. I got that one from someone on Facebook and I assumed they were correct. I updated my comment accordingly.
All good. Online images get mirrored a lot for various reasons, so I have seen many EV6s that LOOK like their right rear panel is one-piece. Some colours also hide the seams better than others.
I have wondered why they didn't make it one piece, as that would look smoother. I imagine it has something to do with construction and securing the tail light and turn signal units.
@amperformance7998 I agree. If I had to guess why the charging port door isn't that whole section is because the corners or edges will hit the adjacent parts when it's being opened or while it's open.
I'm wondering if they'll move the charge port door to the left side on US spec models because that's where the NACS port is located on Teslas and I think it helps when you use the Tesla superchargers.
The body color “fin” that stretches into the headlight looks better the more I look at it.
On the old version steering the upper left corner of the steering was hiding the speed in the screen so the new redesign one will not hinder it.
I own one and I guaranty I can't see my speed. Only way is to put the map and see it in the corner
Redesign is okay, but I definitely prefer the outgoing vehicle. Ioniq 5 still tops this is design 1000%
Too bad the current and old Ioniq 5 interior doesn't match the exterior at all. It looks cheap and not even futuristic at all. I was all set on getting the Ioniq 5 for the longest time but mainly due to the outside. I was bummed when I saw the interior as the EV6 interior is much more fitting. It's more sportier looking imo. Also the EV6 looks better in person then pics. So much so that I recently picked up an EV6 GT and I'm loving it. I'm glad I got the pre-refresh as well as this new design made it look worse imo.
@@volcalstone Congratulations on your new EV6 GT. I can understand what your saying on the ioniq 5's interior, but I think their interiors were meant to contrast each others aesthetic. The ioniq 5 has more sustainable material and eco-friendly oriented interior, where the ev6 is a bit more futuristic and luxurious with its materials and layout. Today, I would take an Ioniq 5 N because of its "boy-racer" vibe of an interior and design while I'm still young.
@@javioncook thanks. Yeah the 5 N is nice looking but for the US market they made too many compromises imo. No HUD, rear shades, digital rear mirror, and vision roof). I wanted an opening sunroof and that's one of the reasons why I went the EV6 route instead. The vision roof is nice but I'd rather have an opening roof instead, pano or not.
I like what they did with the interior on the refreshed 5. On the outside it's looking great as well but they got rid of some character parts like the multi line of reflectors in the rear that I liked.
Looking like a Chinese version of a SEAT
I absolutely love the interior
I like the new slimmer and cleaner looking headlights. It looks more modern and distinctive. I really like Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille but sad to see it gradually phased out. Now the grille or hood edge looks more generic. The new wheel designs are a nice improvement, unique and distinctive without looking too fussy. Interior is very nice as well.
My only criticism for both the current and facelift models is the rear taillights which at night looks like a huge frown or handlebar moustache when lit up.
Hi. Can you do the 2025 Cupra Formentor facelift. As it is coming to the states.
I like the simple older version. Yet in person that may change. Yes the original is sweet Too much fuss doesn’t make for much
I like both
Those wheels remind me of early 90s Chevy Cavalier Z24 wheels.
We're moving toward bumper front light. Especially Chinese cars. Every NIO cars has bumper light. Even in sedan. In that case you should review Zeekr 007
OLD is GOLD.
I have a paper clip that’s Ahmed the same way as those headlights
It's a tiger face now @5:25
Please do the updated ioniq 5
I like it except for the wheel designs. Personally theyre kind of hideous.
Kia and Hyundai invest all their design brainpower in the exterior so there is none left for the interior. The screen is even less integrated and looks like an afterthought in the new version than before.
I’m not sure if there’s a new designer at Kia, but their taking Ls left and right with these facelifts as of late. These cars don’t even need facelifts anyway as a lot of them haven’t been out for very long.
they changed the ok front, and the ugly back stayed the same.
The logo though, KN😂
grow up
They ruined it
I prefer the preface lift
The new one is not as good as the old one
How do you feel about Kia's direction of forcing the family look all across their models? The sister company, Hyundai is doing the similar thing with the 'seamless horizon' headline. But they have models like Santa Fe with a distinctive design, different from the Kona, Sonata, Elantra.
I believe the only reason for KIA to give EV6 a face-lift is to keep the family look, and I don't know how I feel about that. I think it's good that KIA is trying to build heritage and identity here, but it is going to lose character and personality. From a couple of hundred feet away, all KIA vehicles are going to look the same.
I kind of wish KIA should've kept the current design of the EV6, the same goes with the new K5 as well.
The new Sonata actually looks nice in person and this is coming from an EV6 GT owner. To me it looks better than the new Accord and upcoming Camry. The K5 looks nice too bad I still think the Sonata looks better overall. Too bad I'm looking at ICE cars anymore. Once you're used to going fast it's hard to slow down. 😊
nice
I like that they are doing bold new designs. But it isn't elegant enough for me. It looks like they are trying too hard to start new trends.
Old Gen looks way better. They made the front facia look narrower and less sporty imo.
Well I guess I'll be keeping my '23 ev6 unless they decide to change it back in 2025.
I don't understand the criticism of the "EV proportions." It's an EV!
Just like we celebrate the proportions of rear-engine cars, I think the same should apply to EVs.
I find the proportions exotic and pretty good-looking.
The outline of the headlamps looks like the one used in SEAT models, both being mehh
The body coloured wheel arches look like the trim piece fell off. Both old and new models look better with the black trim piece around the wheel arches.
I have done less than 1k km for my GT.
do they have added a routing plan that includes the chargers and time ?
That was missing in the previous when we had a test drive back 2 or 3 years ago when the first had been released.
They were the first using the 800V architecture but the benefits were limited compared to what they had promised like charging speed. Real world was not that great, efficiency and range were also not outclassing the competition and overall more or less mediocre results for a quite high price.
And Hyund Kia went banktupt and those who had a car with a back then 7 year waranty will remember those days when they lost that waranty over night, spare part prices increased afterwards big times and the owners had been screwed. Has happened when the tiger states / countries suffered from a currency crash big times in the end of the 90s.
daym
Kia needs to loan BMW some designers.
Already?
To me, it lost its angry/aggressive look. Its almost like they mated the outgoing model to a Niro - making a more family friendly, vaguely *tech/robotic* character.
First comment 🎉
I don’t like this at all. Looks like AI designed it. Robotic, lacks emotion
God I hate these outlandish headlight designs :(
Looks like a chinese ev. A BYD dolphin or whatever its called
I'm glad I just bought the 24, I don't like this new style
Really doesn’t look that different. They really didn’t need to do that. The Soul is the one that needs a redesign
Kia's approaching that point where outgoing models are looking better than new releases.
This facelift is no for me. Outside of the steering wheels and rim designs, this looks a downgrade from the previous version.
Nothing about this car impresses me. I don't really like all the odd lines and creases you get from KIA. The C-pillar is particularly odd. Its trendy, but the problem with trendy is that it won't age well.
I'm sick of all these slug shaped notch back cars, Where's all the elegant cars with good symmetry and nice lomg boots/chome!
its a nice mid-cycle update but I'm happy with the current one. I'll keep my current until a full refresh in 3-4 years with probably a major battery upgrade, 4% increase isn't really worth it if you already own one. If they can get more than 330-400 miles in next-gen batteries then that would be the big deal.
It's 10% on the battery. Still not that big of a difference tho. I currently have a 23 GT and I like the old design better inside and out. The screens look better as not just straight down and have some styling to it. Yes hopefully batter tech will be better in 2 years or so. My next EV will definitely have more range. 😊 I think 300 freeway miles should be the new standard.
Horrible facelift like with every Kia but original was no a pretty car to begin with. I like your redesign from the past. ❤
Good ideas but poorly done
I preferred the old one. A design downgrade.
Fail with staying meridian.
Different but the same, meh.
it lost all identity
Big downgrade
It’s a Kia 🫤 do we really care 🤷🏽♂️ and a EV 🚫 hard pass
This car is waste of money
Over priced
