That's my favorite ship, I have been there twice, both Mediterranean cruises in 2016 and 2017!!! I really miss cruising. all these videos give me hope towards the future ...thanks for your channel!!!
Looking forward to the before & after video, Emma. Seems B&D has been onboard the Spirit very recently, on the very same cruise as lovely Stef. Isn’t it amazing how much a cruise line can do to a ship, making it feel much more refreshed after an overhaul? Almost like being onboard a complete different ship. That’s magic!
News from NCL states that the Sprit will head to a full time charter after finalising the winter season 23/24. We’ll see what new adventures the future will take her on
@@EmmaCruises According to Cruise Industry News. So far no statements from NCL where the Spirit is heading. At least she will fulfil her cruises for NCL throughout 2023 ☺️
I look forward to your after-renovation video of the Spirit. We're thinking about your Christmas/New Year cruise idea and the Spirit will be cruising in Australia and New Zealand at that time this year, so we'd love to get a sneak peek.
I love the way the pool deck looks and the Christmas decor. I think the theming is cute. I just did a ship tour of oasis and I loved all the holiday decor!
Have loved this video it is or was exactly the same as when I worked on it as superstar Leo when we collected it from the ship yard brand new when I worked in the shops I have seen refurbished videos and it looks completely different I would like to sail on her once again
Looks a nice ship, I am sure the refit will go well as long as they remember to keep the things that make it special for the likes of yourself. It looks to be one of those ships in the 70-90,000 tons class that need refreshing not destroying.
Ian Gill It makes a good doorstop, that’s it. I went on the holiday of a lifetime & my partner got sick ($13,000USD medical bill that couldn’t be reimbursed until we were back home)... what a nightmare. They kept freezing our (pre-paid) unlimited drinks card so we had to keep running to reception to get them to fix it. And did I mention the dirty linen that was reused/rehung. 🤢🤢🤢🤮 Very poor. AVOID THIS SHIP COMPANY ALTOGETHER.
I cruised on this ship in 2010 and loved it. Six days in the Western Caribbean. I've seen the new refurbished look on the outside. I feel they should have kept the mermaid.
I have done 2 cruises with Princess, 1 with P&O Australia. Going next month with Carnival and next November on Cunard. Perhaps one day I will get to try someone other than Carnival? ☺
Haha! Marella Discovery is one of my favourite ships you'll have a great time. The Caribbean sounds amazing! 🥳✌️ I've got lots of other Marella discovery videos on this channel if you haven't seen them already 😁❤️
@@EmmaCruises I watched your baltic one ☺ will look out for others. I have been on her once before around the med, she is in my profile picture 😀 can't wait until this cruise, does new york and florida as well as caribbean
NCL Spirit has a sale on in Oz right now... 40% off; free drinks; free Wifi; free specialty dining; and (of course) no TIPPING! [well, like all cruises down here, there should be NO TIPPING! Pay your staff a proper wage.] I've never been on a cruise before... so not sure if NCL is good?
Nope, I decided to spend some Christmassy time with my family and take a bit of a break. The ships being completely refit so I thought it was a good time to take a break. Sorry! ♥️♥️♥️
Joel Roach DON’T UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO ON THIS SHIP. READ THIS TO THE BOTTOM. My advice to you is DON’T. My partner got sick the first night after embarking our 15 day Mediterranean Cruise from Southampton to Le Havre... ending up in Venice. The medical bill all up was $13,000 (USD). Just to get your blood pressure checked costs $150 (USD) & the nurse checks it every time you go there for anything. You had better have buckets of money in your bank account. On elderly gentleman 92yo, had pneumonia & lost his life savings. Their fees at daylight robbery & if you’re sick, you have to use the clinic. Blood pressure, temperature check, bandaid, bandage, the disposable sheet you lay on, medications... you pay for it 100 fold. The practise owners must be driving a Ferrari. Our unlimited drinks card to use at any of the bars was frozen all the time, so I couldn’t relax with a drink & had to keep going to reception, stand in the queue just to get it sorted. The drinks package had already been paid for prior to the cruise. But because of the astronomical daily hospital charges... over $1,000 (USD) per day, my bank account kept overdrawing & that’s why Norwegian Cruise Lines kept freezing my drinks card. It had me in tears. That’s not a holiday. The towels in the bathroom were just rehung wet from the floor, bed linen left dirty & just flipped over, broken lamp shades. And my partner is in a wheelchair, so the floors had steel ridges everywhere, so I had to lift the wheelchair over then all the time. Several causes of food poisonings in different the different restaurants. Make sure you have thousands of dollars in your bank account available, because if you get sick & on a boat with over 2000 passengers it’s likely if there’s a gastro outbreak or A VIRUS... then you can kiss your money goodbye. And you can’t claim on your travel insurance until the end of you’re back home. Then there’s the disembarking. And not enough lifts for the volume of passengers causing a stampede & HUGE bottleneck which is scary. Now Norwegian Spirit have a refitted glorified tugboat. If after all this, you still want to risk it, then you have more money than sense. If you really want to go on a cruise, then go on a bigger ship & only 7 days.

My favourite Ship. Can’t wait to see the refit video...I agree with you Emma, I hope they keep the uniqueness of this big little Ship.
I see you are getting more creative with the video editing. Music track, rack focuses, spedup walking through. Nice.
I like the ship and I am excited to see how it looks after the renovation. Thumbs up.

Great video, be interesting to see the changes, does looks ready for a refit!
Norwegian Spirit is such a unique ship, but I'm glad that it's going trough a refit! Hopefully she'll come back to Europe sometime in the future!
I'm sure she will be in 2021. That seems so far though! 😢❤️

It may not have a water slide but it's already enough for me
Do you recommend getting to Civitavecchia the night before the cruise?
Hope NCL invite you back to look at the changes they have made 👍
Me too! 😂❤️
Have you been back on the Spirit since the renovations?
Nope, I filmed my 'before' tour side!! :')
I really miss that ship! the oldest ship...
kenny santa fe A refitted, glorified tugboat.
Do you know when you will go on the Spirit again to show the « after »? The ship is going to be in Athens this april.
How did you travel from ROME to Civitavecchia? Looks like train, did you consider taxi or Uber? Thanks. Francis
I did the train yeah, wanted the cheapest option. ❤️
Excellent. Will be there this summer and will try the train . Did you bus or taxi from the train station?
Hi Emma. Will there be more vlogs from this particular cruise?

Hi Emma, I love travelling and love ships, maybe being a travel blogger would be for me, do you get paid for doing videos?
Hey Alfie! I work in insurance by day to afford my cruises :) Nobody pays me to make videos.
Cheers Emma

you said you have been cruising since you where 11 what aged did you start collecting latitudes ponits at
At aged 11, I'm pretty sure they've changed the rules since so that kids can't build up their own points but I did 😁✌️
That ship has aged really well literally looks brand new
They've just refit her 😁
