You must only talk to a certain demographic then. Polls indicate Labour are still the most popular party. This "air of depression" is just your perspective - I'm sure Labour voters felt that way for a number of years too. I'm not a Labour voter before anyone tries disputing this.

Every PM in living memory got in through FPTP. Last one to win a majority was in 1931. Yes, this one was particularly "unrepresentative" when it came to votes vs seats, but you have to blame the Conservatives for that - they pushed away a large portion of their voters to Reform by failing on immigration.
When you say he missold us - are you saying that as someone who voted for Labour and feels missold, or on a Labour voters' behalf? Judging by the polls, the majority of Labour voters would still vote Labour again.

It is that bad! Labour is not going to give up their nonsensical policies, anyone who can shine a spotlight on what is happening in Britain is welcome. And, how does someone's opinion (Musk etc.) pose a threat? Time to end wokery and have open debate!

    • @smithychris8537
      @smithychris8537 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

Most of what he said was fine. However...
      a) he posted a poll about the US "liberating" the UK - which is definitely flirting with a line that shouldn't be crossed as someone about to get a role in Trump's government
and b) he shared a fabricated memo (proven to be fake) that was from the Brown era telling police to not investigate grooming gangs - we've seen what fake news can lead to from the summer riots
Labour, Conservatives and Reform are all united in rejecting these statements

We in the United States who have read our history books, at least those not written by ideologues, understand that our very civilization including democratic values would not have been possible without England, therefore it should not be surprising that those in power are worried when we see the UK throwing this great culture and way of life in the garbage. We are watching your present government abondoning its democratic allies such as Israel on the one hand and opening your borders to those who will crush and destroy the British civilization. We are horrified as your Prime Minister throws people in prison for thought crimes, that is critisizing Islamist terrorism and threatens to throw the only leader in the world that is standing up against Islamists who have committed rape and mass murder of innocent Israelis. If the UK does not change the American people will not continue to support your country. That is the reason Elon Musk is so obsessed with helping the British people to get Starmer out before he destroys the UK completely. The American people will stand by those who fight to save western civilization like Israel is doing today. The same is not guaranteed with the UK

Yes each thing seems fruitless on their own but we do have the majority behind us, we need to all get involved join various online groups, it’s important we hold each other to account too to stop bad actors, we don’t just join in on our own cause we stand with others because we all need each other so stand with the farmers for example and join in on their rallies, groups and petitions and invite them to our causes. On a smaller scale We organise small local gatherings to share ideas and send local petitions to local MPs and councillors. These are all small simple things that add up if we all support each other

The point about the Unions might be one with some bite but if you give in to Unions, what you end up with is a blackmail society. You should never give in to blackmail, ever. It's the absolute worst thing you can do. Negotiation talks are there for a reason but you have a process called arbitration. That should be the end game for talks. I've never been on strike in my life, it wasn't ever a thing for me as you are breaking your contract. If I didn't get a raise, I looked for another job. I always negotiated with employers but happily retired, or at least I was until this Labour government got into office.
Ever heard the saying: "Worse than useless". Well that's what this lot are.

We are looking at alternative countries to reside in, for the future. The UK will become a vassal state, at some point. Net Zero guarantees it.
With no primary grade steel, in order to be independent we will only be able to build stone or brick built bridges. The alternative is shipping steel from abroad and the carbon footprint of that is crazy. That's hardly Net Zero, increasing the carbon footprint for steel in engineering here in the UK.
This will set Britain back 300 years.

@ Precisely but ideology rules… there’s got to be a huge change of direction and IMF could force it!
This Labour government have stoked this up by further expanding the Public sector at the expense of the Wealth creating sector. Public Spending is not “Investment” it drives spending on ideological projects like Net Zero all which destroy the wealth creation with subsidies. It’s an extension of Keynesian economics which prioritises spending ahead of sound finance and balanced budgets.
We went thro’ this fiasco in 1960/70’s resulting in economic collapse. We’re in for a very bumpy next four years, the IMF will be back in the Treasury and loan more money, but we’ll have to viscously reduce Public Spending, reduce taxes, ditch all the socialist regulatory structures, start drilling and fracking for Oil and Gas, Mining, building Nuclear modular reactor power generation capacity and scrapping subsidies on Wind turbines!
In addition, we’re going to see Public Sector Unions taken on to return to sensible levels of employment, working practices, removal of Gold Plated final salary, index linked pensions… the balance between Public sector and Private sector is totally unbalanced and not sustainable!
