The motor was mounted on a jack plate, had no issues with flexing transom because the bobs jack plate evenly distributed the force. Btw we called it skiffzilla
I have a 17 ft dlx with the yamaha 60 hp 2 stroke same series as yours. Mine says only go up to 75 hp. But i beleive it would be better with the same motor your running. Just wondering if the transom would be fine. Any thoughts?
Wow that thing really flies. My friend has the same boat with a newer 4 stroke 90 hp Yamaha and he doesn’t get much over 30 mph at full speed and if he has 3 people on board it wont hardly get up on pain. Do you think it may be his prop or something wrong with the motor? Can you get the numbers off your prop and post it? Thanks
Hey buddy I was looking around for 90 horsepower motors on Carolina 16s and saw your video. Sure looks like the Florida Keys cuz I live on Big Pine. I want to put a 90 four stroke on my j16. Thoughts?
The video was shot in pine channel, putting the 90 two stroke on it was the best thing I ever did, great speed and weight was never an issue. It also would go super skinny like 4" of water, top speed was about 45
Do you have any pictures of how you mounted the motor in the back, as in did you do any reinforcing the hold the 90. I'm turning mine into a bully net. At 3/4 throttle what type of fuel consumption you seeing?
It was not too bad on gas, we could go all day. In the keys we ran from big pine to content keys and bahia honda on one tank.
