  • The Trek Fuel Ex Gen 6 is one of the most capable trail bikes I have ever ridden and after 4 months with the bike I'm ready to share my long term review. This new design from Trek pushes the limits of a 140mm trail bike and really gives a sense of confidence that is usually reserved for an enduro bike. I’m going to share with you everything I’ve learned riding the new Trek Fuel Ex Gen 6 over the last 4 months; you’ll learn who this bike is for, where this new frame design shines, and 3 things I wish I would’ve known when I first got the bike that anyone interested in the new Fuel Ex Gen 6 should know. This is easily one of the best trail bikes of 2023 and worthy of your research if you're interested in this frame.

Still loving the bike? I’m thinking about getting one

Still loving it, it's so solid. I definitely want to change the handblar/stem combo to a traditional set, but otherwise this is a solid design

@BBKDRAGOON I have to say many many years ago you posted your first MTB video on a stumpy? That video got me in to actual single track mountain biking, now on my 2nd bike (Fuel EX also, aluminum frame) and thank you!
I even take my 3 year old son using the Shotgun Seat seat on smoother trails.
THANK YOU!!! Once I saw what mountain biking could be I tried single track now I'm hooked and have a lifelong hobby.

Thanks for the review & tips on mods. I used it to help my decision to pull the trigger on ordering a Fuel EX 9.9 Axs XO T-type. I can't wait to get it on the trails.

Bike looks pretty dope. I'll keep it in mind when I decide to switch over from by Bianchi. I still enjoy it and take care of it, so it serves me well even if it's "only a hardtail"
And the trails... What else can I say but (for me) there is nothing better in the summer than to rip up some trails with my bike. And your MTB videos always make me happy for just watching the places you ride. Colorado, right?
This summer I really did more riding then I probably ever did. Norway has so places to run away and enjoy nature.
Btw, I moved to Norway at the beginning of 2023. I guess I forgot to mention it 😄

Thank you! Much appreciated. The Hightower photos are actually from Syncline WA, outside of that I haven't. I'd really like to ride post canyon out in Hood River, I've heard good things. How about yourself?

Only thing I dont really like is the Bontrager tires, but they seem to work better when stuff dries up, really bad grip on wet roots and rocks...
Previous bike also a SJ Comp Carbon, really like the Trek so far
