I'm no furry, but you guys are freaking dedicated. I can't be with the people who hate you all. For crying out loud, most furries are great artists. And I certainly can't hate people who are willing to go into hot convention centers in those fursuits. It's dedication I have never seen. Fursuits are the most interesting form of creativity I've seen outside of making plushies. As for the, um, unsavory stuff, at least....the art is pretty good in terms of "I can look at this". There's worse things in the world and on the internet than boys, girls, whoever, that like drawing anthropomorphic animals and the like.
I'm in an awkward understanding with (at least) my brother and my mother, where they know I'm a scalie and they're okay with it, but they still think it's a fetish or sexual orientation. This is an uncomfortable set of circumstances.
artmist OMG SAAAME BUT MY MOM SAID "uh huh yes I know that you always draw those wonderful green foxes’’ I didn’t want to tell my sister cause I think she“ll think ITS A STUPID THING AND A WASTE OF MONEY FOR THE COSTUMES!!! Yeah... my sister will absolutely say that. Only my mom kinda knows she said she would be a monkey and she loves zootopis and the characters
Honestly furries are some of the nicest people I have ever spoken too I don't see the problem people have with them. Parents: if your child is a furry don't stop them let them do what they love they don't hurt anyone.
Furries aren't gross, we just like anthropomorphic animals. Some of us get fursuits and the MINORITY are the sexual ones. We're open minded because we want to love and care for others.
My mom says i cant be a furry, but I’m keeping it hidden that i am still a furry. I have been a furry since i was 10. No one in my family knows. Im keeping it hidden.
I can see why you're keeping it hidden im currently 10 and im fairly open about being a furry and being apart of lgbtq+ community but i support you for keeping it hidden and if you ever decide to ya know tell People im sure everyone will understand :)
GalactikW01F Gaming the problem about moving out is not making enough money to sustain oneself... I’ve been a furry since I was 17, and the community had been very effective at lifting me up out of my depression. My mother found out about my involvement with furries when I was 22 and forbid me from further involvement until I move out, and since then I’ve been wanting to move out ASAP. Problem is, $500/mo isn’t even enough for me to be someone’s roommate... I’m 24 and I need a better job. Furries had the most positive impact on my life, but ever since I’ve been disallowed from having them be a part of it, I’ve lived a very bitter and dreadful existence.
I don't really see why people hate on furries. Sure, there is a sexual side, but don't all fandoms have one? Like, there are WAAY more cringey fandoms out there.
Hullahoop Brontosaurus I mean you’re not wrong ,i made this account in fifth grade. But still everything has a fandom ,but this is just weird cmon like I walked down the street and this person in a big red fursuit who yelled at me this EXACTLY (clears throat) “(In high pitched weaboo voice) HI KIDDO NEKO NEKO ,SHAKE YOUR TAIL AND COME TO A FURRY CONVENTION WITH MEEEE. YOURE REALLY CUTE ,ITS ONLY IN CALIFORNIA !!!!” ... I ran ...for my life
My daughter is very creative and she found a community that she can belong to which is the furry fandom... I'm learning from her about this/your community which is cool but I would never want to stop her from being creative and expressing herself. I think this community is amazing and very positive and I think it's one that I wish was around when I was young! I loved Thundercats! My daughter is now making her own furry and drawing more than ever and creating stories and back stories for all kinds of characters. I would never want to take that away from her and very thankful she has a place to belong and be herself without judgement. Thank you for posting the vid I think it will help many.
My daughter is a furry. Rainfeather is her fursona and she has a youtube channel as well. She does a bunch of different types of artistic stuff on that channel. Anything from drawing to ASMR. She has been to BLFC a couple of times, and I'm actually going to attend for the first time in a couple of weeks. Now, I don't wear a fursuit but I have watched probably 1000 videos about the community and try to understand why my daughter enjoys doing this. And when she wears her suit, which she made out in public, the reaction that she gets from kids is fantastic. She is part of the fandom that does not speak while in costume. She doesn't want to "ruin the magic". She has also made fursuits for a couple other furries and has done some stuff for some bronies, which I don't get at all. I do thank you for this video and if you are attending BLFC this year I look forward to seeing you there. Take care.
I'm afraid to tell my mom... I'm not lgbt but she thinks that they are all false... What about furries... She saw that one Cause ep. And I don't know what she will think... I'm kinda scared....
sandman commeth you’re a great parent. I wish my family was more supportive. I tried telling my parents and they started being judgmental about it way before I even got to the part about me being in the fandom. I ended up not telling them. I have to say thank you for being supportive of your daughter, I bet it takes a lot of stress off of her knowing you don’t judge her for it.
Being in a fursuit and not talking is not part of the fandom its a charactorsitic choice and if the char actraly talks also furrys just like anthropomorphic animals its basicly like saying i love cats or i love wolfs but insted of that its i like humanish animals becouse they look cool also there are adult furrys so there is a sexual side wich i mean shrugs fandoms always have that anyway most people enjoy the furry fandom becouse they like anthro animals most people are artists or make fursuits and you dont have to have a fursona to be a furry i dont have any official fursona myself im only 15 but i know alot about furrys and im one myself and i just love anthropomorphic chars also anthropomorphic is basicly an animal with human characteristics
I'm not even a furry and I can understand this. I learned about furries through the negative media on the internet, but unlike other people, I'm rational enough not to judge every furry by a few negative instances by a few people in the community.
I don’t get why people feel the need to wear big ass cartoon costumes in public, call it a lifestyle, and shame people for noticing “ *the fuck are those things* “ *its a public inconvenience*
Cayden Marin wow don’t leave your hate in a comment like this if you watched some videos u would understand just think about it as art people like to wear and show also if it’s a ‘’disturbance’’ for why are you in a FURRY video go play Minecraft in your alarm clock will you
My mom supports me so much, she took me to Anthrocon one year when I was 12! Now I'm a fursuit maker part-time during school and full time over the summer.
my mom was actually the one who showed me some furry stuff when I was young and was like "hey isn't this AWESOME?!" he thinks it's the coolest shit ever. My dad is just like "cool, whatever, don't die of heat exhaustion"
I'mma just say this.. Kids -- if you are acting nervous and making a huge deal about "coming out of the doghouse" to your parents--- like "OMG how can I tell my MOM I'm teh FURRY, le gasp?!" when all you're doing is playing Sonic and drawing your technicolor fox husky eating muffins, they're gonna get the wrong idea because you're making a huge deal about it. It's not even that much of a huge deal that it needs to be brought up at the end of dinner. Not like coming out gay to conservative parents or whatever. Just draw your critters and enjoy it. Parents-- your kid joined a club where people make up their own characters. Some people take it as far as you can think, just like EVERY group. I am not gonna lie and say there's not adult activities that might be happening with people calling themselves furry (I mean, we are adults), but like any other part of society, your kid is probably gonna be hanging around people their own age. If they have sense enough to avoid weird people in their daily life, they should have sense enough to do the same thing on the internet and in furry events. Don't make any assumption that your kid is doing anything wrong in furry if they don't do anything wrong in the rest of their life. BUT, just make sure you have the stranger danger / birds and bees talk with them before ya loose them on the internet unattended... but I know you were gonna do that anyway. Furries at large -- Keep your business where it belongs and don't mess it up for other people. Do your dirtiest dirt if you feel like it, but keep it in the designated areas. If you're under 18, stay in the all-ages areas so you don't accidentally ruin someone's life. As long as everyone's honest, we shouldn't have any problems, right? :3 OK bye
Ehhhh mighta missed the point here; it's not "coming out" its clarifying what your interest is rather than letting Urban Dictionary or Encyclopedia Dramatica be their first impression
I was putting it that way because a lot of kids make the mistake of putting it similarly. This is probably my 20th year in the fandom.. I think. IDK... but I have seen people make a huge deal out of it a million times.. And it usually goes bad if you're acting like it's bigger than it is. (Not you, the proverbial "you") Anyway, was just throwing that out there for another perspective. In fact I would say don't push the issue unless it comes up. Because the average person seeing you draw people with animal heads are just gonna think it's no different than any other cartoon.
I was told by Jesse Frost while emailing her that being a furry is a hobby and you don't come out as it when I asked her about it so..thanks for not being rude!
.....How did i get here? I'm not a furry but have nothing against them. Most people just look at like cringe comps or whatever and go "ew, cringe" but I've seen alot of cool and creative stuff. Beautiful art and animations. And the community doesn't seem very toxic. Other than outside hate which is unfortunate. But you should do what you like. If someone tries to shame you for it, just know that there will be another person who accepts you for it! That's my 2 cents on the subject anyway.
01001110 01101111 uhhhh, dude, do you even know about politics? Compare furries to politics, recently, they released the Irish language act. Meaning that people now have a choice of choosing what language they want to learn in school. Like furries, can choose what they want to be. Personally, as long as they are not hurting anyone (or anything) then I’m ok
This was a wonderful video and really helped me understand why my daughter is so interested. She’s amazingly creative and has loved costumes since she was a toddler. I wasn’t completely on board with her interests, but I support all of her interests to a degree. This community was introduced to the general population with inappropriate videos, and I guess that’s all I thought about. I have just gotten her a full furry kit so she can make her own (after a lot of research) for Christmas. Thank you for taking the time to explain the ins and outs with such detail. She was shy and worried about my reaction, so she sent this link. She’s a smart little furball ❤️
I just wish furries weren't such a taboo subject. It's just a fandom. It's like saying, "I'm sorry I have to tell you this, but... I'm a Star Wars fan, please understand." See what I mean? Yes, there is a sexual side, but that applies to all fandoms, not just the furry fandom. People seem to think the furry fandom is entirely focused on sex, which is ridiculous. :(
Jess McSkimmings True! It's damn annoying too. There are people that are Star Wars fans that sexualize that too. No one bats an eye, *but holy crap furries!!!!?????* Dafuq?
Shekels Lol nope, that's not my taste. Pretty vanilla in that respect. Imo, the whole retarded insult thing sounds as stupid as it did in the 90s. Just a lazy thing to fall back on when you can't think of a more intelligent insult.
If I had a furry breakfast: I would have Space Toast with Fjord Frosting on top with a big side order of Majira Strawberries. No BLUE CHEESE because that would RIKA!
My parents are really chilled about me being a furry. Same with when I came out as bi to them, they were cool about it and didn't make a fuss about it. P.S Your fursona's colours are a little eyebleeding in my opinion. Not trying to hate on you, just saying to maybe tone down those colours.
I haven't told them but if I do ima say bye to my phone my computer my drawing tablet my social accounts my tv and anything else enjoyable and if I came out as bi to them oh God idk what would happen but it ain't gon be pretty
My mom disapproves of me being a furry. My mom says “Sweetie they do bad things in that suit” and “You’re too young” I guess she’s being overprotective but I’m still a furry and hiding it from my mom and my friend is making me a fursuit so.. Me:1 Mom:0
the fridge is broken, james 1, fuck you, get a life, 2, don't you have anything better to do then attack people for how they are, lets say for relevance, you loved dogs as pets and very few people did, and you got called a idiot, stupid, cancer, so on for liking a dog as a pet
I don't think my mom is going to approve :/ shes probably going to be stubborn but idc once a furry always a furry. Edit : my mom is also upset that I am bisexual , I understand where she is coming from but I don't want her do blame the fandom :c - p.s - I have no idea what to do ;-; any tips?
Just keep being one if she disagrees with it. You control what you do and no one else. If you want to have fun being in a fandom go for it! You have the power to do what you want. If you have a conversation with your mom about it and you show her the good side she won't freak out as much. But remember she is your mom, she will love you no matter what so don't think she doesn't.
Ruby tell your mom the positive things about the furry community and tell her there's nothing wrong with being bi. Educate her on that and she may lighten up.
If she's upset about just you being bi, then safe money is on her not being ok with it. You can help her try to come around if you choose by showing her positive sides and making it seem more normal, but she has to choose to be open minded about this and no-one can force someone else to do that, not even their parents. I'm not saying don't tell them, since being accepted is far better than living a lie like that, but you have to weigh the risks of them reacting poorly vs the burden of hiding it. I mean, if they haven't disowned you for being bi, you're probably safe from the worst outcomes, but comming out about anything is a choice only you can make. ...safe bet is to wait until you're living on your own, but it might be a while until you're not relying on them for anything financial. Sadly, there's no one answer for every person or situation.
Hmm, try "hey, I like animals. You know what'd be cool? If they walked on two legs like people, haha. I wonder what That'd look like, imma go draw it" GOOD LUCK
I think the reason why so many people find furries "weird" is that there's no one show or book or movie that it's based off of. Like, trekkies can point to the show and be like "it's cool so watch it" but furries are just anthropomorphic animals with no one art piece behind it. I'm not a furry but if it makes people happy, they can enjoy that and I don't mind. Plus I don't really care about what sexual stuff people are into as long as they don't force it on me
My Uncle: FURRIES ARE WEIRD LITTLE FREAKS WHO SHOULD DIE! WHO WOULD GLORIFY PEOPLE IN FUCKING ANIMAL COSTUMES! Also my uncle: Football's on. Look at that mascot! I'D LOVE TO MEET MILES (broncos mascot)!
pretty sure the worst part is that there are 0 mainstream content portraing furry characters and this kind of "justifies" people assuming they are all weird manchildren wich is often not true. I mean, I have no prejudice against furries but can anyone point a furry based show not aimed at children?
thank you rage ive found many fandoms and the one i feel most in is the furry fandom honestly its not that bad but its those some people that make it "inapropraite" which sucks
I'm a furry who is over 18,and has moved out of the house, as of recent. I really like this video, because it sreally explains to parents what our fandom is all about, and clears up a lot of the miscommunications, and misconceptions people have about our fandom. Also, advice for those who may be wondering whether to tell their parents or not. You don't need to tell your parents if you know they aren't going to be okay with it. I didn't tell mine when i was living at home, because I knew they hadn't always been the most accepting of my interests, and always tend to only find the bad side of communities. So it's up to you if you want to tell them. Also don't treat it as coming out of the closet. That makes it seem like it's some deep dark thing you have to hide, and then it will make them suspicious. Last but not least, as a 20 year old, who's been in the fandom for almost 5 years, and has watched many furry youtubers, I have to say you are one of my favourites ragehound. I love your suit sooo soo much, and I absolutely enjoy your content. It's mature, and entertaining to watch, and I like that the mosurt when it comes to furry content. Thanks for the entertainment!
Thanks for this comment, its pretty helpful. I am 16 and my parents took FOREVER to just accept the fact that I like anime ¯\_(-_-)_/¯ (not sure why) and other interests. Although my best friend is a furry and the first time my mom met her she was in suit and she didn't care so I dunno my dad prbly will tho... what do you think?
Just Poothy Don't listen to her and just keep doing what you do, just don't show her what you are doing. Do what you love, not what people tell you to love or hate
If you like the furry community, then be a furry. If your mom doesn't support it well she still thinks about the stereotypical ones. I assume you could change her mind about furries being freaks.
I’ve been stumbling over this issue for quite a while. Not so much about my parents, but about my friends. First here’s what happened Mom-wise: *My heart was beating extremely hard in my chest this whole time. This wasn’t fun at any point.* Me: Mom, I’ve decided that I want to become a furry Mom: *Not sure what to describe the look, not horrified but definitely not good.* Me: So I’d basically be a fan of anthropomorphic animals. Mom: Well, another term for a furry is someone who :Blocking because I could never repeat or retype these words and still be the same person because my character is partially defined by clinging onto my innocence as hard as I possibly can: in their animal suits. Me: But that’s not at all wha- Mom: Of course not, but you should probably not identify yourself so that the other people who do that don’t connect you with their activities. So... she has little problem with my version of being a furry, but she wants to protect me from the “bad part so that they don’t think I’m part of it”, even though it’s a small, mostly restricted onto themselves part of the fandom. The chances of one approaching me is one in thousands. But she doesn’t understand that. I couldn’t possibly bring that up with her again. I don’t know how many people she told, but she was open with it as I heard her talking about it with my great aunt and uncle that she only sees twice a year. She wasn’t even regarding it that seriously. Now, friendwise. I have an extreme fear at the thought of telling them, as I don’t know how they’d react. The main four: 1. 99% chance doesn’t know what a furry is. 2. Possibly doesn’t know what a furry is, but whether she does or not I nominate her as “most likely to be a furry” (excluding me, of course) 3. No idea 4. Yes. He knows of the bad side. he always tries to protect my innocence (along with the rest of my friends) and when someone brought up a furry when I was sitting next to him I was like SHH SHH SHH. I, who didn’t know nearly as much about furries at the time, brought up that one of my TH-cam friends was a furry. Then he switched it all nice and started joking about it, like “can she make a shark fur suit” (because he’s crazily into sharks.). Don’t know if that was genuine or if he was just trying to hide up the bad part for my sake (though I honestly doubt he could cover it so smoothly that this didn’t occur to me until a couple months after an incident from a few months ago.) So, other than that I asked my 99% chance she doesn’t know friend (after A LOT of hesitation) “I’ve been trying to work up the courage to ask you this, but what comes to your mind when you think of the word “furry.”” She said, confusedly, “uhh... an animal? Why’d you have to work up the courage to ask me that?” That entire conversation I was super scared. My no idea friend came up and interrupted, and I desperately tried to act like everything was normal even though my vision actually felt wobbly and my mind like something was really wrong. He didn’t notice, and I’m sure that my other friend got the message and kept quiet. It was never brought up again. I’ve recently decided that I would be a furry just for me. I didn’t have to tell anybody specifically, but I would portray many traits of a furry. If anyone asked I would tell them yes, and whatever could happen from there. I’m wearing my fox costume to my friends’ and I’s meet up together this Saturday, where we’ll mainly be playing our special game where we’re actually magical, talking animals in an entire world of magical talking animals. If a furry can be an anthropomorphic animal (such as Simba or Nick and Judy), I guess that technically means that we’re all furries while we’re in our alternate dimension. I’ve began wearing my fox ears while we play at reccess, then putting them away when the bell rang. I’m wondering if, one day, anyone will ever ask. It’s no secret to anyone that I really, really like animals.
I love how this was in my recommendations. My best friends really has taken over my youtube, he tends to send me a lot of videos he enjoys or pictures he draws. Though I myself am not a furry, but I support him since he is an awesome guy. I myself, I am anime trash.
No. Just because you like something doesn't mean you are something. Hell you can like people who might be religious but that doesn't mean you are part of their religion or religious
As the furry kid, I watched this entire video, now I have a plan, when im ready, maybe when im 15-16 or earlier if im feeling brave (which im not) im going to send them this video. The way you presented this is AMAZING! Hopefully if they saw this before me saying it we could discuss it.
I like furrys as long as they aren't those 12 year olds who like sexual role play or those pedophiles. I mean if you're just in it to express your inner spirit animal or even just for the cute cosplay that's absolutely fine...just as long as you don't do the sexual shit.
I'm 12 but I'm not into that sexual stuff. I wanna come out...but my sister despises them with this burning passion, and she even hints that I am a furry. I just wanna tell her the truth without her bullying me about it.
Genasiker well I guess that's a quick and easy way to leave the hell known as furry fandom but please if you dislike furries than why the FRICK are you watching a furry video just a question
I'm in the same situation as you! But my mom is just acting like normal, like I never said anything about it before to her, so Im pretty sure both of our moms are chill 👌
Alright, so I need some advice. I'm a young furry. So far all I can do is art. I'm pretty sure that all I can do because... I can't make a fursuit. I know, Its a little by little project, but my parents won't be able to help me whatsoever. _They probably won't let me._ I need to know where to get the products to start off with, and my parents think buying stuff online is a bit sketchy. And my parents will think it's a stupid thing to waste money on. I want to bring smiles to peoples faces. That's all I'm asking! Long story short: Where should I get my products, and how can I get help? Sorry if this comment is long. ;-; EDIT: I've told my parents, and they won't listen as well as I thought they would. Don't worry, I'll be able to tell them! I'll find a way. Also, that you for advice! I appreciate it!
•Scenic Silhouette• Craft stores like Hobby Lobby have almost everything you need. They don't have much fur variety though. Duct tape for patterning and hot glue/gun is cheap at grocery stores. Hand sewing a suit is just as good as machine. Blanket stitch is very strong & secure. I loop thread through the needle eye twice for high stress areas. Henson stitch is for making invisible seams when you can't sew inside out then turn right side out. You'll prob need an electric dog shaver. Wahl makes good quality affordable ones. Fursuit livejournal & youtube for help. Who shat in your conflakes Pearl? Awfully crotchety.
And Pearl Actually not really because if it makes you happy and makes others happy that's even better and based what he says he wants to make others happy of which in turn makes him happy, and also you can save up for just like any hobby or source of entertainment.
So recently I have began going to a new school due to me having to move away somewhere else and it is really hard to make friends because most of my new friends parents think it's a weird sexual fetish to be a furry but I introduced them to the world of the furry told them about it I even showed them this video and they felt as if it was a silly thing for them to think bad of it if they didn't even know what it was about then they told me about how they got brainwashed that it was a bad thing through the news and other articles but once they realize it was just a fandom they felt more welcoming to it than they even offered to buy me a fursuit which I did not take because I felt as if it was just too much.
Personally, I'm not a furry. I love the concept art, and I think the idea is absolutely adorable. However, it's understandable that some people don't get the point of it. They only think of Furries as some sort of kink. Truth be told, not all Furries are kinky. Most of them find comfort in being in their fursuit, and I completely respect that. Yes, we're all entilted to our own opinions. But, that doesn't mean we should go at each other's throats for speaking our mind. Granted, you might feel offended. I get that. But, be the bigger person and go on with doing what you enjoy, and don't listen to what people might say. As long as you're happy, then that's all that matters.
im a young fur, I'm about 13 and I've matured very quickly. I already have the body of a adult woman and I can't wear sizes meant for the people my age. Is it okay for me to get a fursuit at this age because of me maturing so quickly?
s a r a h Wow, that is... really quick. 13? and like an adult? well, if you are sure you will not grow anymore, you could consider a fursuit. but since you are 13, I would wait, even when you are saying you mature fastly.
i am the trash man Unless you can make your own or have a shitload of money, then have at it. Take this time to work on your character, get it all mapped out, have fun! Make sure everything is truly what you want.
Blue Link I never found someone with autism dumb they just think a bit differently about things or sometimes get confused about things well it does depend on the level of it also I guess
thank you for making this video, this and majira's 'help my kid is a furry' video helped me build up the confidence to explain to my Mum what a furry was and that I was a furry, and she took it really well! TYSM for making such a lovely video, and congrats on nearly 10K!
I dont get it. Why is being a fan of anthropomorphic characters so big deal? Why would you even need to tell your close ones? Unless its something more than just being a fan. Like a lifestyle or an identity. Anyway, i just dont get why you need to proclaim you're a fan of something.
Fortress Europa the issue is that people have been disowned by their families for being in the fandom and because not a lot of people know about, with stereotypes and misconceptions being generalized and treated as fact, she just made this video to kind of tell parents how to act in the situation instead of throwing them out or grounding them.
There are more negative stereotypes about furries than there are about fans of other media. You can admit to liking comic books / Star Wars / Harry Potter / whatever without worrying about people judging you for it, but you do run that risk if you admit to liking anthropomorphic animals.
My 8 year old told me she was a furry & wants a fursuit. Shes autisic and always acted like animals so im not really surprised but trying to figure out an appropriate way to go about it.
I can def suggest maybe working together with her to try to make one! Buying one at a super early age isn't recommended as its very possible she'll grow out of the suit while she's maturing.
Just because I say some nonsense, doesn't mean they can listen to me. This happens to most to people, they scroll to the comment section to find some good ones but come across come comments that don't make any sense. Some might like their comment, some don't.
I have a friend who is a furry (I'm eleven and she is fourteen) and her parents are super supportive of her. She goes to a lot of conventions and is super ok with the way she is. Very few of our friends know and, despite her coming over all the time, MY parents don't know. I have talked a lot about furries to them and my mother continues to tell me every time I talk about it she tells me that furries are just people who like to have sex in fuzzy costumes and as someone who has been to a bunch of conventions and worn a fur suit many times I don't know how to feel about this. I have met so many cool people and I do not appreciate what she says about them.
I told my mom over a text while crying in the car on a discord call with my bff because I was scared, but she really doesn't care, neither do my sisters 😂 Haven't told my dad, brothers, or other sisters yet, but I'm pretty sure my mom already told my dad. I told my bffs, and now one of them is a furry, and the others don't care at all. So, moral of the story? If you tell someone (which you really don't have to), they'll probably be pretty chill with it. Sorry for the long comment, but have a good night/day wherever you are ❤
The gross side of furries is just the loudest part of the fandom. The majority of it are just some people who like dressing up in an awesome animal costume, but dont speak out very much because we're afraid of being labeled as a "person who likes to do the naughties in an animal costume."
I'm not a furry but most of my friends are I'm fine with it I'm honestly twice as awkward as them ( not saying all furrys are awkward just the ones I know)
This is weird, but I love furries. I love the art, the creativity and everything. But I have a huge fear of people in costumes Like chicly cheese, Disneyland, and anywhere else with mascots, it's freaks me out. I'm trying to face this fear, because on screen those fur suits look gorgeous and have so much work put into them. X3
My parents think all furies only like to fuck in there suites. So I can't really be a furry even tho I would like to make a fursona.... But my parents just don't think about all the different things.
I don’t honestly have anything against furries, but I can see why parents would be skeptical about furries. One quick skim over the internet and you’ll see plenty of reasons why. I’m not that big of a furry in general, but I give it respect as an art style and somewhat as a fandom. I do have some friends who are more into furry lifestyle, and I have respect for them, reason being they don’t let their furry interests consume their life. I’ll admit, I’ve seen plenty of furry cringe on the internet before. God awful cringe. But that’s really the only thing I have against furries. I do see upsides of some of furries, generally those being friendlier attitudes, more enthusiastic personalities, etc. But either way, my views on furries is this: Keep it Safe, don’t let it be all-consuming, and don’t make it cringe. If these three things are followed with decent effort, I can come to respect furries as any other friend. -God save those furries who go too far-
I am a furry and I don't think my fam knows I'm a furry, and I plan on keeping it a secret until I am 18 or when I move out, but for those who told there parents I'm freaking proud of u, because it takes guts to confront your parents that ur a furry
I think as a parent whom is a furry(me). The thing that scares us adults is to say hey mom dad I'm a __________ . Imagine if your kid came home and said hey I'm a gangster or certain sexual preference or certain other thing. The idea that you are a ______ says to adults that you only fit into that certain category. This for if you show your parents zootopia and mabey some art you or others made. You don't have to make it out like you are in a cult they don't understand cause it was not that way when they where little. Remember just be a person first. And say you like this style of art or want to see a fur con. I'm a unusual adult so if my kids say hey I'm a gangster fursuiter or whatever it's easy for me but not for everyone.
Imagine if you brought a girlfriend or boyfriend, they look sort of unusual to your parents. Keeping in mind that this BF/GF has never meet your parents before and you have not ever mentioned them. You announce "This is ______ we are getting married tomorrow! Likly they will be like "wait WTF?" who is this? how do you know them? what is the deal?" they dont know. You cant blame them. I would be unset too. On the other hand if this is a person they have known about for a few months to years ,they know you are dating. Likly they wont be so WTF, Mate? Breaking someone in slowly is way better (a Parent). That way they get time to process the info first rather than coming out of the closet in one lump sum. No one likes to have that which they dont understand thrown on them. Im willing to bet most supportive parents have had the longer slower treatment rather than the all at once here it is like it or not! So be kind think about it from their limited point of view. All they know is Furries might be a weird bunch after all thats what most impressions of them are ,,and for F**ks sake dont even bring up the PRONS if they ask tell them that not you, even if it is. Slowly over time the idea will sink into the heads (that you like furry art) and they will get it, even if they dont like it. If they have questions answer them but be gentle. You dont have to make it a big deal, even if it is. From a Parent(and furry) to you younger furs wanting to tell us.
Gummyflower :3 just try to have a talk with them about it. They most likely saw the furry csi episode or other stuff in the media. They still love you for who you are though so that won't change.
Mine are too, actually. Or atleast my mom is. She told me that it's all just a fetish and that they're all 47 year old men trying to r*pe me. If she only decided to do her damn research she wouldn't be so scared and not let me like what I like, therefore I wouldn't have been yelled at. I don't think she gets the fact that there is more to the internet than 47 year old men.
I hope this video will reach many people who are scared of this beautiful community but what I also hope is that they will be the type of people who are open minded and not like the majority of people who don't understand us. Furry: *writes up an 8 page essay disproving every misconception someone has* That someone: ok dogf*cker
I mean the video's actually pretty nice and all (tho I'm not really a furry) but do your parents really care...? It kinda like me going up to my parents like: "Haay mom and dad I know you don't even know what's that but I'm a Danganronpa fan, okay? Byeee"
Because some dumbass "furrys" have murrsuits and nasty crap. Most people only hear about that tiny bit of our fandom, so their children need to explain. This is unlike games.
Most parents are concerned about what their kids are into. Like my mom wasn't shocked that I was a furry (after I explained what it is) but she was concerned that some creeps would wear the suits to kidnap kids, so i'm not allowed to go to conventions alone.
Personal advice to anyone with parents who don`t know about what it is in the first place: Treat it like a non-issue. If they ever ask about the windows wallpaper/games/whatever, treat it the same you would treat a show you like, a genre you fancy, or a favorite author/piece of media you consume.
My mum saw furries on the news the other week an said they were really interesting.. I told her I like them and then I had a full on conversation on furries with her since she doesn't know really who they are lmao xD it was brilliant x3!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot, when I told my mother she got worried and thought I was doing... Questionable stuff online. But this helped put her at ease. Its hard to try to explain these kinds of things to parents but a different perspective really helps.
Good video. Too bad I can't use this because my parents already know I'm in the brony community. If they heard that offside comment at 5:32, they'd probably freak out more.
Ragehound Oh yeah, there are some pretty scary things in the fandom, I'm not disagreeing on that. It's just that there are MLP fans that are also furries that might want to use this for their parents. I'm not saying that NSFW MLP art shouldn't be mentioned, it's more that "oh god bronies" comment that bothers me a little because parents will pick up on that. I don't mean to trash on your video, and I'm really sorry if I ever came off that way. This video is really good! I just wanted to put my two cents on that particular part.
I think that was completely unnecessary. Both fandoms has a big overlap (I started as a furry years before), and the furry fandom has way more scary things than the brony fandom. I can understand outsider people making fun of both fandoms, but why being part of one fandom you had to make fun of other? We all need to be more friendly and open if we want to be accepted too. If not, we are going to end like the LGBT community, which talk about being accepted and then they are one of the most closed and discriminatory community if you don't fit in their frameworks, way to be hypocrite.
^///w///^
Then making your own sona
Try
This, this makes me so happy that I know there are people that aren't furries out there but they still accept them ^w^
We need more people like you! ❤❤❤
_not a furry, but good on you kids that have the guts to tell your parents_
_im proud of you_
kirishima eijuro we're proud of you for being chill about it 👏👏👏 you're a cool dude
Thanks
*oh god this is gonna be hard*
Be proud now while you can. My family hates my guts now. 😂
I don’t have enough guts yet, my parents probably don’t even know what a furry is😂
It was hard, but her reaction was hilarious. Mum had no idea of what they are so I'm teaching her
I showed my mom this and she just said "oh, I knew that. You're always drawing those cats"
great
thank you,
i pissed myself
Lol
Only my mom kinda knows she said she would be a monkey and she loves zootopis and the characters
artmist same
Honestly furries are some of the nicest people I have ever spoken too I don't see the problem people have with them. Parents: if your child is a furry don't stop them let them do what they love they don't hurt anyone.
Why.. thank you!
Because it’s a weird ass hobby. Kinda freaky and disgusting. They’re nice because they’re way too open minded. Notice how I say “too” open minded.
Furries aren't gross, we just like anthropomorphic animals. Some of us get fursuits and the MINORITY are the sexual ones. We're open minded because we want to love and care for others.
Wolva Maybe I think there is such thing as too open minded though.
U made my day! all i see is negitivity... thank u
OMG your pfp was so funny that I downloaded it...I foun it on google when I wanted random shit, and now you have it as PFP
Space Gamer do what you have to. If you can wait til youre 18 and moved out, then your parents cant say jack squat about your intrests
Keep doing what you love!
Like, there are WAAY more cringey fandoms out there.
klaudia :v because they are disgusting
Blueberry Sans Other fandoms are the same. Kinda hypocritical imo. Take the Undertale fandom, exactly the same.
Blueberry Sans COUGH COUGH says the person who is in the undertale fandom COUGH COUGH
I ran ...for my life
Blueberry Sans r/thathappened
My daughter is very creative and she found a community that she can belong to which is the furry fandom... I'm learning from her about this/your community which is cool but I would never want to stop her from being creative and expressing herself. I think this community is amazing and very positive and I think it's one that I wish was around when I was young! I loved Thundercats! My daughter is now making her own furry and drawing more than ever and creating stories and back stories for all kinds of characters. I would never want to take that away from her and very thankful she has a place to belong and be herself without judgement. Thank you for posting the vid I think it will help many.
Rachel Meyers AHH A PARENT YAY! I'M so glad you took the time to watch!
Rachel Meyers good parent, congrats, only if my family understood
I noticed you said you wished the fandom was around when you were young? It's never too late to join!
Sir Beastonator ??
Sir Beastonator What do you mean?
Take care.
sandman commeth what's her channel called? I'd like to see it :3
I'm afraid to tell my mom...
I have to say thank you for being supportive of your daughter, I bet it takes a lot of stress off of her knowing you don’t judge her for it.
that's a great parent right there!
Me too but 1 month after i knew about it i became one
Me too like 1 year ago I hated furries but now I am a proud furry!
Thank you for respecting our community, we meed more people like you.
Not a furry myself, but to me it seems like it's just a simple hobby that people can get really passionate about. You do you.
FINALLY someone accepts us!!! 😺
Kathy Franklin, Of course.
*We are the champions intensifies*
Bro Strider ---- watch out for creeps.

Lucky
How old are you now?
I wish I could get a furry suit.. ... T-T
Awesome :)
I told my parents and i got grounded
Wqtermelon_ I feel sorry for you
Damn some pretty mean parents if they can’t accept their child’s opinion
What close-minded parents.
My parents took away my license and kept a close watch over me
Wqtermelon_ I'm sorry, I'm a furry and I told my parents and they don't care but my best friend hates me now
my mom was actually the one who showed me some furry stuff when I was young and was like "hey isn't this AWESOME?!"
he thinks it's the coolest shit ever. My dad is just like "cool, whatever, don't die of heat exhaustion"
ToxicSherbetSyringe --- lucky.
OK bye
I was told by Jesse Frost while emailing her that being a furry is a hobby and you don't come out as it when I asked her about it so..thanks for not being rude!
my parents have constantly stated how "furries are people who like to... pet each other in animal costumes." desgusting.
My parents already know my aunt is an-ass about it tho so ima send this to her
Honestly I'm gonna say I am furry and my parents don't care so yea
.....How did i get here?
I'm not a furry but have nothing against them. Most people just look at like cringe comps or whatever and go "ew, cringe" but I've seen alot of cool and creative stuff. Beautiful art and animations. And the community doesn't seem very toxic. Other than outside hate which is unfortunate. But you should do what you like. If someone tries to shame you for it, just know that there will be another person who accepts you for it! That's my 2 cents on the subject anyway.
Brandon Gordon 🅱
Thank you
01001110 01101111 uhhhh, dude, do you even know about politics? Compare furries to politics, recently, they released the Irish language act. Meaning that people now have a choice of choosing what language they want to learn in school. Like furries, can choose what they want to be. Personally, as long as they are not hurting anyone (or anything) then I’m ok
The Pie That Survived that oddonesout reference tho
"Beautiful Art"? Their art is creepy because they give their characters HUMAN PARTS! That's just nasty!
90 percent of comments : I am a kid
10 percent : random junk
1percent : parents
10 percent is hate lmao
Snazzer that too
Actually 70% of parents now
So 101% comments?
This was a wonderful video and really helped me understand why my daughter is so interested. She’s amazingly creative and has loved costumes since she was a toddler. I wasn’t completely on board with her interests, but I support all of her interests to a degree. This community was introduced to the general population with inappropriate videos, and I guess that’s all I thought about. I have just gotten her a full furry kit so she can make her own (after a lot of research) for Christmas. Thank you for taking the time to explain the ins and outs with such detail. She was shy and worried about my reaction, so she sent this link. She’s a smart little furball ❤️
This is the kind of parent all the furrys need
Props to you for being an exemplary parent who can understand their child and supports them 👏👏👏
Thanks for being a supportive good parent
+anonymous individual
so if i said i like sonic my parents should abandon me in the streets since sonic porn exists?
anonymous individual I just lump it all together. Fandom porn. The problem with furry fandom is gross people thinking the _whole_ fandom is just porn.
Shekels Lol nope, that's not my taste. Pretty vanilla in that respect. Imo, the whole retarded insult thing sounds as stupid as it did in the 90s. Just a lazy thing to fall back on when you can't think of a more intelligent insult.
Shekels Mind rereading your comment?
If I had a furry breakfast:
I would have Space Toast with Fjord Frosting on top
with a big side order of Majira Strawberries.
No BLUE CHEESE because that would RIKA!
Shouldn't you also have a Cupcake?
Yoah Cat my furry breakfest would be a sandwich thats colored in blue food coloring...
Dont blame me its edible
Yoah Cat is it just me or did that sound kinda, sexual
I love it
Then use the Telephone after :3
My parents are really chilled about me being a furry. Same with when I came out as bi to them, they were cool about it and didn't make a fuss about it.
P.S Your fursona's colours are a little eyebleeding in my opinion. Not trying to hate on you, just saying to maybe tone down those colours.
That's the idea
Man my parents flipped out when I came out as pan
Same
I haven't told them but if I do ima say bye to my phone my computer my drawing tablet my social accounts my tv and anything else enjoyable and if I came out as bi to them oh God idk what would happen but it ain't gon be pretty
I told my mom I was a furry " oh that's cool!" Can I have I fursuit " sure! "
NOT FAIR XD
CreepyDragon a

You have an awesome mom m8.
"Sure, all you need is 2,000 dollars" X3
I support furries I am not one
I beg to differ, Mr. Rawr XD
#EdgyFurr
Thanks for the support from the entire Fandom
Thx 😁
Thx
My mom disapproves of me being a furry. My mom says “Sweetie they do bad things in that suit” and “You’re too young” I guess she’s being overprotective but I’m still a furry and hiding it from my mom and my friend is making me a fursuit so..
Me:1
Mom:0
People need to know that the furry fandom isn't like being gay. It's literally just dressing up as an anthropomorphic animal.
1. Awesome vid!
2. HOLY SHOOT WHO DID THAT ART??
Pokestar itsprobablymars
the fridge is broken, james edgy
the fridge is broken, james 1, fuck you, get a life, 2, don't you have anything better to do then attack people for how they are, lets say for relevance, you loved dogs as pets and very few people did, and you got called a idiot, stupid, cancer, so on for liking a dog as a pet
Poke star she made the art
No she didn't, itsprobablymars on Instagram made that art.
I'm not a furry. I'm a V E G E T A L .

@@rironii542 *I am not alone.*
I don't think my mom is going to approve
:/
shes probably going to be stubborn but idc once a furry always a furry.
Edit : my mom is also upset that I am bisexual , I understand where she is coming from but I don't want her do blame the fandom :c - p.s - I have no idea what to do ;-; any tips?
And Pearl great tip...no not really.
I like your fursona .
Ennviroment dog I know they're adorable and have an awesome colour pallet
I think the reason why so many people find furries "weird" is that there's no one show or book or movie that it's based off of. Like, trekkies can point to the show and be like "it's cool so watch it" but furries are just anthropomorphic animals with no one art piece behind it. I'm not a furry but if it makes people happy, they can enjoy that and I don't mind. Plus I don't really care about what sexual stuff people are into as long as they don't force it on me
kirby lover : I know that that's a reason why I find the fandom a little strange.
It is in a way though....quite a number of us credit Disney as where we first found the interest
Zootopia perhaps?
pretty sure the worst part is that there are 0 mainstream content portraing furry characters and this kind of "justifies" people assuming they are all weird manchildren wich is often not true.
I mean, I have no prejudice against furries but can anyone point a furry based show not aimed at children?
thank you rage ive found many fandoms and the one i feel most in is the furry fandom honestly its not that bad but its those some people that make it "inapropraite" which sucks
mangle fnaf I mean every fandom works that way.
noteveryone of them theres few that arent
like which fandoms?
mangle fnaf trust me. EVERY fandom has a dark side, even if its a child fandom. Its the hard truth and i don't suggest you search for it either
mangle fnaf wtf still likes fnaf?
Most furries are going to be artists not scary people.
I’m an artist. Artists are scary people lmao.
We are a strange breed, that’s for sure.
Im guna wait til i go through puberty and get a job till i get one
MegaAmpharosHD thanks for your comment!
Bro my mom hates furries and when I told her I was a rather surprised by reaction and it wasn't mean she was like ok I don't care you do you
Thanks for this comment, its pretty helpful.
CJ it’s because your parents are probably aware of Hentai.
I showed this to my mom cause I love the furry community but... She said I can't be a furry because she said they are freaks :c
Just Poothy Don't listen to her and just keep doing what you do, just don't show her what you are doing. Do what you love, not what people tell you to love or hate
Thank you so much you just made my day
If you like the furry community, then be a furry. If your mom doesn't support it well she still thinks about the stereotypical ones. I assume you could change her mind about furries being freaks.
@Undertale
Just Poothy im 13 too lmao
I’ve been stumbling over this issue for quite a while. Not so much about my parents, but about my friends. First here’s what happened Mom-wise:
*My heart was beating extremely hard in my chest this whole time. This wasn’t fun at any point.*
Me: Mom, I’ve decided that I want to become a furry
Mom: *Not sure what to describe the look, not horrified but definitely not good.*
Me: So I’d basically be a fan of anthropomorphic animals.
Mom: Well, another term for a furry is someone who :Blocking because I could never repeat or retype these words and still be the same person because my character is partially defined by clinging onto my innocence as hard as I possibly can: in their animal suits.
Me: But that’s not at all wha-
Mom: Of course not, but you should probably not identify yourself so that the other people who do that don’t connect you with their activities.
So... she has little problem with my version of being a furry, but she wants to protect me from the “bad part so that they don’t think I’m part of it”, even though it’s a small, mostly restricted onto themselves part of the fandom.
The main four:
1. 99% chance doesn’t know what a furry is.
2. Possibly doesn’t know what a furry is, but whether she does or not I nominate her as “most likely to be a furry” (excluding me, of course)
3. No idea
4. Don’t know if that was genuine or if he was just trying to hide up the bad part for my sake (though I honestly doubt he could cover it so smoothly that this didn’t occur to me until a couple months after an incident from a few months ago.)
So, other than that I asked my 99% chance she doesn’t know friend (after A LOT of hesitation) “I’ve been trying to work up the courage to ask you this, but what comes to your mind when you think of the word “furry.”” She said, confusedly, “uhh...
Im never reading all of that
I was watching this and realised my parents door is open. I had it at maybe a little less than normal volume
I'm surprised I read that whole thing
My favorite part is that every reference to an "evil" or "creepy" furry?
SCAR.
Lol haha you're funny
my son is a furry he went to a convention with some friends
kim jong-un aye yo homes can you nuke my home thanks my coordinates are 40.3399° N, 127.5101° E
I love how this was in my recommendations. My best friends really has taken over my youtube, he tends to send me a lot of videos he enjoys or pictures he draws. Though I myself am not a furry, but I support him since he is an awesome guy. I myself, I am anime trash.
Does liking anthro birds make me a furry?
Someone yes
Reptiles as well I think, I'm personally not a furry.
Someone You're a.... a.... feathery
No. Just because you like something doesn't mean you are something. Hell you can like people who might be religious but that doesn't mean you are part of their religion or religious
Someone yup, as well as anthro reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, a furry is just an anthro animal of any sort.
I had my first convention today
Omg I’ve wanted to go to that one for over a year
I asked my mum to go to a convention and she was like “you know what, I’m just gonna say yes and not question what you do there” lol
Awsome man how was it
Good for you . Your dog is cute uwu
I'm not a furry I have no idea why I clicked on this video lmao
Not hating on Furries though I support it and all.
Good
See, we need more people like you
you crazy if you think im telling my parents who where born in the 60's and barely know about technology XD
I wish this video was made when I first told my mom I was a furry it took about two month for her not to care any more
Watermelon Fish yo i talked to u when she went live two days ago
Wait... Did she mean to heart my comment or urs
Moon Brightside XD I have no idea lets say is for both of us who knows it might be
Watermelon Fish sounds goodlol
Genasiker well I guess that's a quick and easy way to leave the hell known as furry fandom but please if you dislike furries than why the FRICK are you watching a furry video just a question
I showed this to my mom. Afterwards, she acted like nothing happened. Is that a good thing? It doesn't seem like it.... PLEASE HELP!!! lol OwO
That depends on what you mean by "she acted like nothing happened"
Then she’s chill with it
She could have been a bit uncomfortable with it but if she didn’t yell at you or get mad then I think she accepts you as a furry!
I'm in the same situation as you! But my mom is just acting like normal, like I never said anything about it before to her, so Im pretty sure both of our moms are chill 👌
My mom doesn't care as long as I'm not doing drugs. She just rolls her eyes.
"Fur suits are no big deal!" - if you have rich parents *cough*
i funded my own actually
"Hay guys I'm a furry"
"BAD DOG SIT OUT SIDE!"
"Woof"
Alright, so I need some advice.
I'm a young furry. So far all I can do is art. I'm pretty sure that all I can do because...
I can't make a fursuit. I know, Its a little by little project, but my parents won't be able to help me whatsoever. _They probably won't let me._ I need to know where to get the products to start off with, and my parents think buying stuff online is a bit sketchy. And my parents will think it's a stupid thing to waste money on. I want to bring smiles to peoples faces. That's all I'm asking!
Long story short: Where should I get my products, and how can I get help?
Sorry if this comment is long. ;-;
EDIT: I've told my parents, and they won't listen as well as I thought they would. Don't worry, I'll be able to tell them! I'll find a way. Also, that you for advice! I appreciate it!
And Pearl not if you save up. Having spending that much money means you would really want to have something so that's why they get one.
Please don't hate. It's no very kind. ;-;
•Scenic Silhouette• People like that will always hate. That's all edgy teens like to do these days. Think being an ass to people is "cool".
Amen
Was careless whisper playing in the background, or am I insane?
yes
Ragehound Ah! I've been spotted!

im a young fur, I'm about 13 and I've matured very quickly.
Michaela Matušáková yeah. Women tend to mature faster and I must of hit a big growth spurt and stuff
s a r a h im a woman too, im 12, and I know we mature faster, but that fast?
No wait till you grow to your matured age so it doesnt not fit you later in life
i am the trash man Unless you can make your own or have a shitload of money, then have at it. Take this time to work on your character, get it all mapped out, have fun! Make sure everything is truly what you want.
Oh, and I love the seductive music playing around 12:00-ish. LOL very subtle xd
17:51 this pisses me off
Doodle I never understood it as an insult it doesn't even make sense
Drop Pod Gamer
It's used as an insult because people think Autistic kids/patients are stupid. That's why I hate people.
Blue Link I never found someone with autism dumb they just think a bit differently about things or sometimes get confused about things well it does depend on the level of it also I guess
Drop Pod Gamer I like to think other autistic people that are a bit more low-functioning than I are very smart, but they don't know.
Doodle and my mom is dislexic. People really hate us but they got us wrong.
My parents were completely fine with it since I'm already into cosplay!
Lol the troll deleted his comment 😂
Billuminati Cat Cipher I removed any rude hatespew
Ragehound 💙💙💙
Sabrina Draws I feel like I've seen you somewhere before.
I cosplay and my parents make fun of furries all the time yet I can go out as a boy robot in an idol costume
My mother helped me make my first suit.
It looked horrible, but it was worth it.
I'm not a furry but I found this and clicked it I guess I am a diet furry tho
i choked on a marble
Your lord Mushymetroid why did u even put a marble in you mouth anyway?
Nice
Shut up
No you shut up
@@potatolover6930 what?
thank you for making this video, this and majira's 'help my kid is a furry' video helped me build up the confidence to explain to my Mum what a furry was and that I was a furry, and she took it really well!
Fortress Europa some people thinks it's all about rape and fetish, and some kids get disowned by family
There are more negative stereotypes about furries than there are about fans of other media. You can admit to liking comic books / Star Wars / Harry Potter / whatever without worrying about people judging you for it, but you do run that risk if you admit to liking anthropomorphic animals.
showed my mam this and now I'm going to Jesus camp
Col Wal I didnt show my mom this and she still sent me to jesus camp
how was Jesus camp?
@@kroduss4802 it was very fun ^·^
My 8 year old told me she was a furry & wants a fursuit. Shes autisic and always acted like animals so im not really surprised but trying to figure out an appropriate way to go about it.
I can def suggest maybe working together with her to try to make one! Buying one at a super early age isn't recommended as its very possible she'll grow out of the suit while she's maturing.
@@Ragehound we are making her a cloth outfit and a hood as a head is for someone older (she has tons of growing to do).
Gonna have the balls to show this to my parents
Edit: 20 Likes? Thank you?
Edit: 40? Ok then
No one ever heard from this guy again.
Just because I say some nonsense, doesn't mean they can listen to me. This happens to most to people, they scroll to the comment section to find some good ones but come across come comments that don't make any sense. Some might like their comment, some don't.
@Rafael You messed up my joke by responding.
Wait, that was a joke? Crap I though you were serious
How did it go?
I cant show my mom this, she already told me i cant be a furry >:( thanks MOM 👿
I think I speak for a hand full of other young furs when I say, “Thank you”
I have a friend who is a furry (I'm eleven and she is fourteen) and her parents are super supportive of her.
Levi my mom thinks thought the same thing. I told her the actual definition and she calmed down after that.
Media stereotype.
My parents say the same thing. I also have been talking to my mom recently about furries, not that I am one tho- :
Why was this recommended to me? Im not even a furry.
Hades Kerbecs It was gaining views super fast which may be why.

Sorry for the long comment, but have a good night/day wherever you are ❤
I feel like showing my dad this video now-
Or w-wait a few years? I..I'm still nervous about his opinion on this.
Me too
I'd make a furry joke but I have to shave first.
This comment deserves more likes.
But I have a huge fear of people in costumes
Like chicly cheese, Disneyland, and anywhere else with mascots, it's freaks me out. I'm trying to face this fear, because on screen those fur suits look gorgeous and have so much work put into them.

My parents think all furies only like to fuck in there suites. So I can't really be a furry even tho I would like to make a fursona.... But my parents just don't think about all the different things.
I sexually identify as a toaster

thank you for existing
I sexually identify as a cooking knife.
Funny but does this really belong here
I don’t honestly have anything against furries, but I can see why parents would be skeptical about furries.
-God save those furries who go too far-
I am a furry and I don't think my fam knows I'm a furry, and I plan on keeping it a secret until I am 18 or when I move out, but for those who told there parents
I'm freaking proud of u, because it takes guts to confront your parents that ur a furry
dont mind me just a non furry person just strolling through
Lord Gaben Make hl3 daddy
Hope you prosper if your reading this you are an awesome person
And if you are going through bad times it will get better 😊
I don’t think my mom knows what it even being a furry is
Being a fan of something does not mean you have to “come out”. 🙄
you are just spreading facts
My parents are mad at me
Gummyflower :3 just try to have a talk with them about it.
Ill start owning my own OC fursuit at around 16 and Ill keep my furry self on until my parents find out themselves
Im a lobster
And I'm a moth dragon
I hope this video will reach many people who are scared of this beautiful community but what I also hope is that they will be the type of people who are open minded and not like the majority of people who don't understand us.
Furry: *writes up an 8 page essay disproving every misconception someone has*
That someone: ok dogf*cker
Im an 11 year old furry and my mom said I cant be one. But. In the basement I have been working on a fursuit
I mean the video's actually pretty nice and all (tho I'm not really a furry) but do your parents really care...?
It kinda like me going up to my parents like:
"Haay mom and dad I know you don't even know what's that but I'm a Danganronpa fan, okay? Byeee"
had 2 friends get disowned before I made it
Ragehound Those where terrible parents. All that love and care they showed, only for it too be gone after they find out they where a furry.
There are so many people who, surprisingly, do have their parents hate them for it.
I told my mom and now she wants me to make me a fursuit
Awww I wish I was brave enough to tell my mom
That’s... wow
Personal advice to anyone with parents who don`t know about what it is in the first place:
Treat it like a non-issue.
I didn't really 100% understand what a furry was until this video. I am actually tempted to become one someday... Someday...
Well......telling my grandmother was the eazy part, the hard part was the acceptance of my grandmother (which is still a work in progress).
Dear youtube,

Thanks a lot, when I told my mother she got worried and thought I was doing... Questionable stuff online. But this helped put her at ease. Its hard to try to explain these kinds of things to parents but a different perspective really helps.
Good video. Too bad I can't use this because my parents already know I'm in the brony community. If they heard that offside comment at 5:32, they'd probably freak out more.
22MewDragon yeah, I don't hate bronies....just a few things I find scare me
Ragehound Oh yeah, there are some pretty scary things in the fandom, I'm not disagreeing on that.
Bronies are furries. They literally draw the same amount of cartoon animals that furries do. inb4 ponies somehow don't count
Because most of the time, the ponies aren't anthropomorphic.
this made me wanna be a furry holy chicken nuggets
And Pearl How about you stop telling people how to live their lives? He can pretend to be a train for all I care.
Yes, pretty sure you're not the Queen of Sheba. Can't tell anyone what to do.
If you want to be a furry you're a furry. (Or if you just like anthropomorphic animals your technically a furry.)
chicken nuggers cant save you now
Luna The Wolf Actually, being a furry is fully a choice.
Someone may like zootopia and Robin Hood by Disney, but not identify as a furry, that’s fine!
