Best YEARS of my life watching this as a kid. Loved the racing, commentary, that straight without the bloody kink. LOVE GROUP C. They should have never got rid of them. Thanks for the memories. RIP Holden and Ford.
I remember watching this live as like it was yesterday. Being 10 years old I was fascinated with Dicky Boy and the 'you're not wrong' race cam. Love those Group C Big Bangers - great cars, great drivers, great memories. RIP Falcon 1960 - 2016
Full interior... complete dash...side mirrors...rear vision mirror.....Back when men who man handled real race cars that you could buy from your local ford and commodore dealer
Group C touring cars and Group B rally cars, the 80's produced the best motorsport spectacle. The last of the driver's taming the beasts and minimal regulations.
CAMS made sure their brand ruled Bathurst . Ford people won’t like it but when they did win group C it was unexpected and upset CAMS head office. 1973 … BROCK Torana ran out of fuel. 1974 ….. Toranas broke down when leading. 1977…. A9X was unreliable and 13 Toranas had mechanical failure . Ford’s Factory support withdrawn . So there was nobody to beat
Commodores did it easy in those days. You can see the Holden is faster then both Ford and Camaro its just looking after tyres and doing it easy. Both Ford and Camaro are 100% and cant keep same composure. No wonder Holdens ruled at Bathurst

Amazing driver. Who else can have a casual conversation and crack jokes whilst racing around Bathhurst.
How many others were yelling at the screen to turn the camera back to face the front?

Holden's ruled at Bathurst because they had the numbers against Ford. Ford didn't have many cars entered compared to Holden
