I’ve seen a bunch of shirts like this where it’s alright, but just vague splotches with a lot of white still visible or wonky edges, but yours manage to have an unbelievable level of crispness to them, like every line was drawn perfectly, well done.

Quick question about your method of dying honeycomb ties: do you use a dry shirt and add soda ash to your dye? I'm having a problem with the dye coming through due to the saturation of water and soda ash solution. I wring out my shirts very well before I tie but I can't get too much dye in before it wants to start pooling and running off into other sections. Could this be because the sinew is pulled to tight? Would you recommend I not tie as tight, spin it in the dryer first, or add soda ash to the small amount of dye I intend to use up that day? Sorry to bother you but you've responded to both other comments I've left on your channel and I can't find anything addressing my particular issue. You are the reason I picked this hobby up by the way, my daughter turned 9 in March and we got her a tie dye kit. I guess my phone heard me because later that evening I was scrolling through reels on FB and your most recent at the time came up and I am in love ever since!
Honestly, sounds like there's a lot of things going wrong there, not just one thing. Aside from practice/trial and error, it sounds like you need to find a blank that actually accepts dye well. You should be checking to see if every piece is hydrophilic before you even start tying. The soda ash before or after doesn't matter as long as your fiber accept dye properly. Have you bought the video that's on my website? Ot teaches about the chemistry of dye, it would be a big help to you from the sound of it
