@@jeremyshewell2445 Heck yeah bro! You got this too! Thanks for replying. Mostly my comments seem to go unnoticed, it's nice to talk to someone. :D I was a Detroit, Michigan party kid back in them days. I never caught ed or optical live, I'm sure that was a killer set.
Toronto was the second biggest DnB scene in the world! I remember record shopping on Yonge Street at Play De Record, Starsound, and other cool shops supporting the scene. Queen and Spadina Ave. was a Mecca!
What I love about 90s DNB vs Nows is the drums were a lot more full sounding. The drums these days are very short due to having to make room for the loud mid range bass.

@@jeremyshewell2445 true . I shouldn’t have been surprised. . Unfortunately most of the dnb played these days (at least at the events I’ve been to recently in TO ..) is not my thing at all. It's funny, I kind of fell out of love with DnB around this time as I didnt like this harsh sound, in my mind wasnt dissimilar to dubstep sound, but after all these years I can come back & appreciate this now. Sounds a lot softer now, maybe because I know what followed. Who knows.
cot damn, those were the days. I can't remember all of the tracks not listed at the end but the last three songs were Ed Rush & Optical : Alien Girl, Slip Thru and Sicknote. I hear Usual Suspects Killa Bees in there. Plus some other tracks its been 20 years since I last remember their names. I think Ed Rush & Optical Beachball was in there too.
Ed rush n optica( & virus rec in my heart .. as a teen baij then their music is the most suit me... even better then roni s ... ed ush n optical in my heart ..
Im pretty sure that I made this tracklist with timestamps years ago. I was huge fan of Ed Rush and Optical. The official tracklist had one track missing from the very beginning.I think the missing track was Johnny L - The Bells. So I decided to make a correct one with timestamps. I have posted it under different videos, that Ive found on youtube and elsewhere. It made its way to this video as well.
I was watching the video closely trying to figure it out. I saw a Tim Horton’s, so likely in Canada, and it looks like a fairly large city. Edit: just saw a few other comments saying it’s Toronto
Toronto - their DnB scene used to be huge in the late 90's! Slip n' Slide, DJ Sniper, Vinyl Syndicate crew, Capital J, etc. Definitely died down since then unfortunately.
This mix, 25 years on, just smokes the competition still....
Holy shit 😂 ❤❤❤❤ xxxx
This just WORKS so well to this day. Classic ed rush & optic. I was 18 when I first listened. Now 39. Aging is a disease.
I’m 49. You got this shit bro!💪And word up to Ed And Optical. Caught them live a few times here in TORONTO. KILLER!!

Quote from Storm; 'it's called drumnbass, not drum n mid range bass'
And there was a lot more sub bass in 90's dnb
I like a lot of music from progressive house to classicsl, jazz fusion etc but 90s dnb is one of my favourites.

DnB now is in two folds: Liquid or straight up noise, unfortunately. I miss my 1999.
