    “So how many mechanics are in this game?” Developers - “Yes.”

      That's anime fighters for you,and that is why they are the hardest section in the fighting game genre to get into(except dragon ball).
      Also the game teaches you all this,so it's not that bad.

      @@stareater4629 lmao oh okay. It was a joke. I have, since this comment, sunk quite a bit of time into this game. But honestly, from the outside looking in, it's a fun little game to play on the side, but I dont think it's got enough of a online population to be ones main game, if that makes sense. Just my opinion though

      @@JeromeTelos That Gale was the final straw that made me hit the sub button. UNICLR system have so many layers, dropping the game for a few month always have me coming back to the tutorial. Those vids are going to be helpful. I never even knew about vorpal trait (playing mostly nanase, it's hard to catch what hers do though while in the heat of battle).

    My biggest issue is leaving myself open usually during a block string where im not necessarily sure what will put me in a neutral state, so often im negative on block and just let myself get countered. I never knew there were mission to help with that

      I'd understand if he's just trying to enunciate his words more clearly, but I feel as though it might be a trend because of how youtube tracks the length of time your videos are being watched. I appreciate the video nonetheless, and I'm not saying I could do it better, but people are losing sight of the value of brevity and it's become one of my pet peeves.

    So, I’ve been watching these videos over and over again, but I can’t understand any of it. I got the game very recently and I’m really wanting to understand how the game works, so of course I took to TH-cam and found your videos. I did find them helpful, and I did learn some things, I just can’t seem to remember or do them while playing. I’ve done all the tutorials until a little ways into the intermediate course, but I’ve found all the sections so difficult, convoluted and nigh impossible that I cant help feeling confused about pretty much everything to do with this game.
    Now, while this may be me going a bit far for being a newbie, I did try to look up combo guides for a few characters. Namely, Byakuya and Hyde, but the way I’ve been seeing people get across the combos confuses me. For example, in a Hyde video the first section of it is 2A(x2) 2B. I have no idea what this means, and I cant find any videos explaining on what this is trying to tell me.
    I don’t know if I’m just being incompetent or what, but I’m really stuck on how I’m even supposed to play this game at even a noob level.

    • @JeromeTelos
      @JeromeTelos  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well learning and taking what you learned into an actual fight with another human will always be hard regardless. No worries man, it’ll take time for you to get used to it a bit. Just have to be consistent with the game
      Now regarding the 2A(x2) and 2B notion
      This is something even I still haven’t gotten fully used to. In short I did cover what this means in the first video, but think of this as Crouching Square then Crouching Triangle attacks
      Where the numbers come from is something that the entire FGC is trying to get used to and it’s basically the number pad on a keyboard
      The right side one
      236 = Fireball Forward motion
      214 = Fireball Back Motion
      623 = Upper cut Motion
      421 = Reverse Upper cut Motion
      22 = Down Down motion
      Then there’s command normals like
      4B or 6C or even 3C
      That’s what it means in short terms. It’ll take some time to get used to hell even I still say “Fireball motion” instead of the number motion
      Don’t worry man, not everyone will understand something RIGHT away. As I said, it’ll take time but being consistent about it, if you enjoy it) you’ll get the hang of it in no time 👍

      @edgydemonchild_6506 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      JeromeTelos Thanks! Honestly I wasn’t expecting to get a reply. Though, I’m playing it on PS4, so the whole keyboard stuff doesn’t really apply to me XD
      But yeah, I do intend to take time on it. Just thought I could ask for help is all.

    • @JeromeTelos
      @JeromeTelos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      EdgyDemonChild _ i play on console too. The keyboard number notion applies to all fighting games though
      On the dpad just think
      Back = 4
      Forward = 6
      Down = 2
      Up = j (jumping rather than a number)
      You may hear Max saying numbers for moves or even other content creators or tourney players
      The numeric notion for motions in fighting games is used all over
      So you may wanna get used to it a bit
      Or you can be like me and get used to it but still know better when someone says
      “Fireball forward/back”
      It just helps you overall

    12:55 I'm not understanding how whiff canceling can be used to pressure, honestly. I can't even replicate whiff canceling in UNI2, unless I'm doing it wrong.

    • @JeromeTelos
      @JeromeTelos  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      so scenarios after a whiff canceling:
      1 - you whiff and you dont do a move after. So you're just blocking. If your opponent decides to do a DP cause he thinks you're gonna continue pressure then you can punish that since the whiff cancel will keep you in safe frames.
      2- basically the opposite. You can continue the pressure and get GRD on your side, meter, keeping them from from acting and so on. And you can continue that pressure in hopes of breaking their defense.
      3 - trust me, if you're just pressing A after B or C then you're canceling for sure. Just make sure you don't press them early in the combo/block string cause the game will not let you press that button again but on the occasion if you did Crouching A or Standing A first.
      I REALLY hope this was helpful - JT

    Ok I'm a little confused on the super and special distinction for cross veil state. akatuski has 41236d listed as a super but its his IW and ABCD listed as a super which is like the super strong one. and his specials are like 236c or 214c so I'm lost. Like I could cancel 214c into abcd if I was in cross veil state?

    • @JeromeTelos

      Yes but of course it at first, if you’re going HAM, the combo might drop first but everyone can combo into their Infinite Worth EXS. Just eats your entire bar & breaks it for a time
