Yes, quite a show of force and humility to land right in the middle of the heart of the cold war and say the things that Kennedy said. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸 Force, obviously because its painful for those who have cultivated such a strong image about themselves- attached to the hammer and the sickle- to have such walls torn down. Humility, because although Kennedy is attached to a self image it is ‘not at the expense of freedom’. This means its amiable, fluid, not fixed, willing and able to observe and act in peace. That midnight hour of maximum danger has never left this planet. Fortunately, the Soviet Union did fall and unfortunately the USA behaved in coercive ways throughout the cold war. But, fortunately, we can look to Kennedys use of language, ones befitting for action in the mid night hour. Simple, direct, effective and not bound by time.
