Good on you for doing this review the first on youtube ! for EBTG Fuse album, i really like it so far its just a shame we lost 24 years of them not releasing anything from their band. When you mess up is my favourites so far but nothing left to lose is a banger !
Considering they went into it just to see what could happen and not knowing if this could become an album, I believe they did a great job taking from their last album and throwing in something different. I also think that with the surprising success they are having they may just have the inspiration to continue to write and give us a more full bodied piece of work *fingers crossed*. Great job on a thorough review.
The album has entered the UK Charts at number 3, that’s quite an achievement with very little marketing. Presentation is a cardboard fold-out containing CD, Lyric Book and Blu Ray. The Blu Ray has 24 bit audio or so called HD sound, and it also has an ambient Dolby Atmos 360 degrees surround sound. This is brilliant news for those with the audio kit as the sound can be altered to suit personal taste. The headline track which should have been released as a single is ‘Only when we’re dancing’, or perhaps ‘Karaoke’. As a fan in the 1990’s I had to re-tune into the drum and bass sound which I agree with you is the sound of TODAY not a pastiche of their old records….so this album is giving me something new every time I listen to it. I’m a fan of sub-40 minute albums anyway…modern releases of 60 minutes often have 20 minutes of filler. Congratulations on a comprehensive review, and if you did not here the album in surround sound do yourself a favour.
I'm a great fan of EBTG and I loved and appreciated your honest and objective review of the album! You obviously have great music taste and knowledge and I'm happy that you are aware of the legends. Thank you!
Gotta love how their youth are giving them total 'cool points'. Personally, i'm not mad at the album's length. Simply because i feel it's the precursor for what's to hopefully on the horizon. 'Time And Time Again' is my joint. 🙂💯
Haha I agree about the "cool points" thing! I'm really glad that they've transcended their cult fanbase status at this point and just become a universally well loved as well as cross-generational project. Anyways, thank you for watching!
Umm….does “forgettable” “weaker moments” mean not mainstream? I’ve listened to them since their very first album from the 80s. It remains one of the most memorable introductions to a band I’ve had to this day. True fans appreciate the full spectrum of their work. I find none of their works to be weak or forgettable. Who are you to say it should be a longer album or any of the other “should bes” or flaws you mentioned? Also, you’re like 12 so I find it hard to take anything you’re saying seriously.
Good, don't take what I say seriously. I'm reviewing an album with my own opinion. You aren't supposed to. I digress, "does “forgettable” “weaker moments” mean not mainstream" huh? How did you get that idea? It just means moments in their discography that I find less noteworth than other moments. "True fans appreciate the full spectrum of their work" absolutely not lol. Rush and Leonard Cohen are two of my all-time favorite artists and they have at least 3 weak albums each. "Who are you to say it should be a longer album or any of the other “should bes” or flaws you mentioned" dude me saying stuff like that is literally the point of reviewing something. If you don't want to hear what people would've changed about your precious album, then don't watch or read reviews about it.
@@the_infinite_jukebox LOL. blah blah blah. I took issue with you saying what they should do and how it should be vs what you think. This does not come across as opinion, which you are more than welcome to, when you say dumb stuff like the album should have been longer. If you had said I would have loved a longer album that’s more in the realm of opinion. Art is subjective, so I take issue with so-called critics who think they can characterize what an artist has done as weak or forgettable and saying it in a matter of fact way. Tbh I was totally turned off by you discounting their earlier work as forgettable. What are your qualifications anyway? Are you steeped and versed in all of their music? Did you even know they existed before Missing? 😒 Check your lipstick before you come for me.

Hey thank you! Yeah its a shame they were idle for so long but I'm glad to have them back. Glad you enjoyed the record as well as the review!
Im 57, and I've loved EBTG since the 80s.
I'm impressed with your knowledge of music obviously going back long before you were born.
Thanks so much! I really do a lot of research ahead of each review I do, so I'm glad it doesn't go unnoticed lol. Thanks for watching!
This is a surprisingly delightful review.
Thank you!
