The larger a person you are, the bigger the shield should be, and it should be larger in general than most people seem to estimate. One key measurement is where your elbow is. When you’re holding it, the shield should completely cover your elbow. In all events, this is a great-looking example, whatever its size.
Great looking shield. have both the EFX and Marvel Legends 75th anniversary shield. Having both of these and comparing it to the movies scenes, I got to Say that the back of this shield isn’t properly designed. From my two shields there are “lined” details around the inner rim and around the leather bracers that are not apparent on this shield. Also the buckles aren’t sharp, or come too close to the edge, nor overly difficult to grasp or handle. I spent a lot on the EFX shield, which is said to be movie accurate. They went with fiberglass as they said the prop they handled form the movie was as well and it’s colors and I believe material matched it perfectly. It was molded form that movie prop Chris handled. Both the 75th anniversary metal legends shield and the first EFX shield have pretty much the same inner details. But honestly, the legends shield is in person much better. The leather is nicer looking and more durable. The metal feel and shine to it is more accurate in life to what you would believe the shield would look and feel like. It’s also lighter and easier to handle. It’s more impressive. Honestly check one out in person and see if you like It better. Great views !

I went to high school with one of the costumers for all the Cap movies, she does the aging on the costumes. If you want the leather company verified I could shoot her an email and she if she recollects. Really nice girl and she does outstanding work...not just on her iMDB credits but all the way back to the mid 90's with our high school production of Brigadoon and, of course, Guys and Dolls. Beautiful sheild, Michael. I could look at it "all day.
The fact that Hasbro never even TRIED to make an accurate metal shield and, instead, sold cheap plastic at metal prices shows EXACTLY how the fans are doing the best work.

That is a very nice looking shield. Looks actually prop perfect. You definitely need to get cosplayed up! It feels a bit of a waste to just hang it on a wall? I kinda think that a shield like that needs to be properly shown off!
Nice review. That shield looks great. Now my question to you is which look will you go for if you do a "Cap" costume? Would you go with the original costume out of the golden/silver age comics, or would you go with a version similar to the "Ultimate Universe" and then by default the First Avenger movie? They both have their merits....the original literally came out of the era, but the other feels more like it did in its style, and even appeared much more practical and military issue. Either way, have fun with it. Thanks for bringing us all another great review!

What is the point of the four leather straps on the shield as seen at 5:34 ? I see this on all replicas but they don't seem to have anything to do with the two main forearm/hand adjustable straps.
I have the mavel legends comic version, which is exactly what I wanted. I love Movie Cap... but for my replicas it has to be comic all the way. Honestly, for the price difference, Legends put a an awesome Shield. I DO wish there was some convienient way to hang it on the wall. I have some kind of hanger wrapped through the straps... but it's really awkward.

I personally like the Marvel Legends Series. No over lapping,and the straps are great too. Just don’t have the plaque but my magnet goes there for putting it on my back.
Jus picked up secret wars iron man and Kang, while not as high quality as superpowers, they are extremely durable however, at one point, I tried to pick up a price of paper to throw into a garage can, but I accidentally threw Kang instead. I think it damaged the wall more then Kang
