I am just in the process on changing my 1st edition to a 2nd edition copy (sold the 1st ed. and playing 2nd edition on BGA, as I have a 3 months old at home, so can not really plan on a game night with friends IRL). I was not really sure if I would need another one after that. Rails of the North will be a buy for me, and now it seems Argentina too.

There appears to be a copy of Rails to the North 2e behind you. If you get a chance, could you possibly post pics of all the new rttn2 objective cards over in the rttn2 section on bgg please? Or post a video clearly showing them all, I've been dying to know what's on them. Pretty please?
& although I previously said "pics", all 8 regular obj cards and 2 start obj cards should fit just fine & clearly visible together in only 1 pic, which would shirley be more convenient for you. Please and thank you
That’s a tough call. I mean both are great games so I think it would come down to which theme and location you like better. I know that isn’t great feedback lol but they are both excellent games and it’s hard to pick one over the other.

@@meeple I disagree. It’s almost the same game as GWT with some really minor changes and small ships expansion. U make the map a bit different, tweak some things and obviously it will play slightly different. It’s a cash grab in terms of ppl owning GWT. Would reather spend the money on some totally different new experience. In terms of GWT newbies however, it may seem like a better pickup than the original.
Will this one has a solo variant as well? I still have the first edition, but never got to play it. Now I'm wondering if I should sell it to get the second edition, to just play solo or get GWT: Argentina. (Also for solo).
I know it's been a month or so but can I ask is there any changes to the building aspect of the game, it was the only weak point of the original as the other strategies were easier and most tended not to go down that route usually meant a shorter game too which was unfortunate.
Why so many close ups of one tile … should have had at least one or two pics of the entire board, or at least zoom out enough to actually see how this game is different.
My only response is we had...a couple hours to play and get this content up. Then we had to wake up 2 hours before the con and return the game. Sorry, this was next level time constraints.
Why? By the time they've done a new map, they've: - Printed a new board - Printed a punchboard for the new worker tokens. - Printed new player boards with the new benefits from that new worker type. - Printed new goal cards that are appropriate to the new map. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of things but hopefully you get my point - Why sell 90% of a game as an expansion map when it's only going to cost 10% more to make it standalone?
Everything has new artwork to reflect Argentina, down to the types of cows you’re selling. The only thing that carries over are the wooden meeples and discs. It’s almost all new stuff.

I’m not sure it’s more complex - I’d say it’s about the same complexity level. It’s just complex in different ways.

I honestly think Argentina. There is just more to do and the addition of grain really makes you play differently. You can’t ignore it.

Feels like this could have been an expansion
That's honestly what we thought it might be, but it really does seem to be doing enough differently, that it feels worthy of a stand-alone.

There are great solo modes available for the 1st edition at BoardGameGeek. One of them was even used as the official solo mode for the second edition.

The building aspect hasn’t changed but the inclusion of the grain you need to collect forces you to do other things besides just building.

Nice overview. Sounds like there are enough differences to warrant a different version rather than trying to make an expansion pack with all of it.

I'm sorry, but the game, despite some changes, is almost identical to the first one. I don't think the differences are that big to be worth it
I talk about this in the video but the way you play the game is actually quite different, strategy wise.
