      @@bogdan3301 His translation is bare minimum. It is at the level of “I know what he said” and nothing more. The major flaw is that it did not reference what a dota2 player with decent English would say in a real match. This is the key reason why I said it feels like it is translated by machine. For example, nobody says “I am destined to die” during a real game. A lot of time it would just be “I am dead”. If the player is being passive aggressive, it could be “I am dead anyway”. If the player is upset, it could be “I am so dead”. Another example is “xxx(I could not forget which hero it was) is at our back”. The translation should just be “xxx flanked”. The third example would be “I ate doom” when it should just be “I got doomed” or “Doom on me” depends on different circumstances. The main purpose of this channel is to allow TH-cam audiences( a lot of them speak good English) to know the characters of Chinese dota2 figures. Thus, the translation needs to be more than “this can be translated to that and I will go with that. The translation should be able to express the emotions of players during real matches through careful selection and consideration. That is the key to reveal the characters.

      @daokealin  3 āļŦāļĨāļēāļĒāđ€āļ”āļ·āļāļ™āļāđˆāļāļ™ +2

      @@tonymontana9221 I actually gets your points. However, it's important to add some dramatic effects by translating "I am destined to die" by intention. Similarly, "I ate Doom" is a way Chinese players prefer to say when they tanked the game-changing skills, and I don't feel necessary to do the transition to the next step. It is important to make English native speakers feel "Their speaking seems natural to me", but for some cross-culture players people may want to know their personality, it is more important to build their character by not translating that naturally.
      Indeed, your words made some points but none of them is related your offensive words by saying my translation is "Translator-Made". It is just translation habit difference. Just give me one AI translator can get Chinese dota2 slangs 100% then I'll shut my mouth up. You are just being respectful by commenting "Stop using translator" under my videos over and over again and not giving any constructive critism.

    • @tonymontana9221
      @tonymontana9221 3 āļŦāļĨāļēāļĒāđ€āļ”āļ·āļāļ™āļāđˆāļāļ™

      @@daokealin I found it rather funny you want people to know their personalities but failed to do that through your translation. I will use "I ate doom" as an example once again. In English, the word "eat" refers to verbs that desribes the actions of taking food in through the mouth and does not indicate any characteristics. It is simply a verb that does not have other much different meanings. Such traits also appeared in languages belongs to Indo-European languages groups which around 45% of people speaks a language within and covers a lot of cultural groups. Your translation of "I ate doom" was never proper in the first place.
      However, there is difference between "I took doom" and "I got doomed". The first one indicates that the player is being active. He is prepared to have doom cast on him to some extents and that might indicates that he is expecting some actions from his team if he got doomed. The second one is passive. He is not prepared for doom to be cast on him or has a much higher possibilities of showing some passive or negative emotions of the player. It is the job of who translates to decide which translation is more suitable for the given circumstance. Chinese players' preference to use the Chinese character that means eat does not prove the point that "I ate doom" is a proper transaltion that achieves your goal.
      I understood there are a lot of slangs in Chinese conversation during a Dota2 match in real time but a good translation has three objectives: faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance (based on the book An Inquiry into Yan Fu’s Translation Theory of Faithfulness, Expressiveness, and Elegance: The Beginning of China’s Modern Translation Theory). Your only accomplish the level of faithfulness by having viewers thinking more than they should while not even attempting to achive the objective of expressiveness and elegance. This is where I believed "xxx is at our back" is far worse tham "xxx flanked" in term of those three objectives because the structure of "xxx flanked" suits the speaking habit of dota2 players during Dota2 match in real time while being short is the essential elegance.
      In addition, I want to emphasize that what I have said is that your translations have a style similar and almost identicial with some translators. I observed those phenomeon using google translators and geting the very similar results after trying to translate some of phrases those players were trying to say. I never made the verdict that you are using translators for your videos. I used the quotation marks in the origional./ comments to avoid being considered as someone who claimed you used translators.
