When Charlie Parker meets Israel Houghton, who meets Tower of Power, who then calls Herbie Hancock and Kenny Garrett to join the party and melt into the awesomeness that is this video. Killin' 🔥
Nice song, and great line up of good musicians. The whole band is awsome.

Unison section of gritty guitar and bone is fantastic! Takin a page from Tom Scott - kudos.

So much groove. Love the casual vibe of the video and how much fun you are all having with the performance. Nice tune, the mixing/mastering is very on point as well!

Bought the album and love it🤩. Was the Hammond B3 Oregon sound overdubbed after you guys played or did the keyboard player somehow split his keyboard?

this is such a good arrangement... why use fake video? bugs me every time i see it. if its a clip then its a clip, and if its a live session then its a live session, why would you use only parts of each existing concept instead of just committing to one of them?
im still adding this to my playlist cause the music is good, but would have loved to see an actual live studio performance of this. cheers!
thanks i’m glad you dig the music! since you asked, here’s my take. first of all, for decades, rock bands, rappers, and singers make music videos miming performance of their songs and nobody bats an eye, but as soon as an instrumental jazz musician does it suddenly it becomes an issue.
it’s a visual world. releases do better with a fun visual element, but often times the recording process doesn’t lend itself to a video. people recording in separate rooms, at different times, glued to microphones, wearing big headphones, dressed in street clothes. not only is that difficult to film, it certainly wouldn’t be a fun video that captured the vibe of the song. i’d rather people be dancing, having a good time, wearing fun outfits, and not worrying about nailing their part. with a video like this, the actual mood of the music is captured…and that’s way cooler imo.
I'm a big fan of your music! Not a big fan of the "fake playing like what you see is what you hear". Just go for something crazy, we know you record in studio and it sounds good, no need to stage it and make it feel artificial. Thanks anyway for the infectious groove!
The slight mismatching is kinda sick, gives the whole video a cool plastic kinda feel
Producing music videos costs lots of time and money. Something like this looks great for the amount of time and money it takes to film & edit. It looks a bit strange at times, but 90% of people won't even notice.
thanks!! actually this whole video is literally just the camera audio from the room. one live take no overdubs 💪💪💪
Really nice song but the fact that you’re“lip syncing” but with instruments really through me off .
autotune sax? nice
Nice! Tight!! Don’t take your foot off the gas!! 👍🎼😎
