Aww ponyo sounds so cute!❤ Although if you want to get a dachshund you will need to do your research, they can’t be too fat with a big belly as they are prone to having back problems known as IVDD. They are a really sweet breed and they will be your velcro dog, they’re super loyal and love cuddling. If you travel a lot this could cause them separation anxiety if left alone for too long. They also require a lot of attention in terms of enrichment as when they get bored they bark a lot and very loudly. 😅 I have one and a lot of my friends do have one too and they’re ALL so different , they all have their own personalities but it also depends so much on how much time you spend with them training them. They’re truly worth the extra effort with their training and socialisation. 💖🙏🌭
omg I have a Dachshund named Benny and he is my heart and soul!! 😭💖 He is sleeping next to me right now😆 They are so cuddly and loving but veryyyy playful! Idk about every Dachshund but mine is a dog of routine! If you start early and train them well, you'll be fine but once they are older, it might take some effort to help them learn something new. They are super smart and very curious too! It is good to let them go for "sniffy walks" so they can have a good understanding of their surroundings and where they will be living. It is like they are drawing a picture in their minds of where they are. My Ben Ben loves to burrow under blankets and will sleep under my covers at night if I let him lol He also has a cage that we call his "apartment" because we keep it covered with a blanket and soft on the inside. He will just hang out in there sometimes, especially if he is by himself and feeling anxious. I hope you guys find the perfect match for you!! 💜

Hi QQ, i have a 5 year old mini dachshund and i live in a 2 story house. Firstly, you need to be aware of their long backs as they get slipped disc easily which can cause them to not be able to walk with their hind legs. That means that they are not allow to climb up and down the stairs on their own, climb onto beds and sofas as all these jumping increased the chances of them having a slipped disc. Secondly, having dachshund requires more supplements for their naturally weak joints and spine. I feed my dog with coconut oil(for smooth fur), fish oil(for joint), gut health supplement. so all these adds up to the cost :'( Thirdly, dachshund requires weight control as their legs are not able to handle heavy weights over their long bodies. It has been a trouble trying to stop my family member from feeding my dog with rice and bread as she gained weight and was called a bit overweight by the vet. we had to bring her out for walks for more than 30mins every 2-3 days to help her slim down to an acceptable, healthy weight. but ever since i have a dog, it has been a joy! my gallery is constantly filled with my dog's photos and her funny moments. my family have also bonded a bit closer than before because of the dog.
