I've seen many different ways of teaching this on you tube. I've been taught full right lock til I see the trailer leg then back to full left til I'm parallel with the line then cone b comes into view. It's easy after that. Just hope it goes as good on the day of my test
@@eddcasesThankyou. Im lucky as i work for dhl and will get contract changed once i pass so i can gain experience in my current role. So when the time comes i would've been driving for dhl.
@@rogerparker9228 lol I can because this is not my real name! I'd suggest creating another email and name if you have a opinion to share about any company. You never want to burn a bridge no matter how badly you've been treated. After my experience at DHL in Banbury I record my calls, as lies cost me my job. If I had recorded my calls then I may still work there now. Though it's still the shit hole it was then only different staff who don't care about drivers 🤷😒
Unfortunately I failed this test today. I find the reversing fine and then examiner asked me to do the coupling uncoupling. When I finished that he said we don’t have enough time to drive on the road as I took long time (16 mins) in reversing so he failed me...! Which was absolutely annoying. Can anyone tell me how long one should spend on reversing, coupling uncoupling and driving. I still think this was unfair ...
Can I just ask. I failed my Class 1 Reversing exercise today. When you put on your full right hand lock, when the marker on your head of trailer appears, do you immediately engage a steer to the left to straighten up and become parallel with the line? This is all I have seen via youtube. I failed because I have been told the following "Full Right hand lock until marker appears on bulk-head of trailer. Keep the marker where it us until the back left side of the trailer looks as though it's touching the far left cone". This is what I tried to do on test, and my cab (right hand wheels) were on the right hand line (kerb) way before I could turn left as I was trying to get my trailer to look as though it's touching the cone. Everywhere I've looked online, no where does it say to keep the marker where it is while moving, everywhere seems to say as soon as you see the marker, start steering to the left to until your cab wheels are parallel with the line and keep moving parallel until your whole vehicle is in a straight line. Have I been misinformed in the way I've been told to do this? Does it matter if my rear-left of trailer doesn't look as though it's touching the front left cone of the "Garage"? What is the most important point with the marker? Should I keep it where it is while I move back, or just steer left as soon as it appears? I don't want to fail again so all help is appreciated!
Cazzum What matters is to complete the manoeuvre as specified without going out of the defined limits; whatever tricks you use to help you visualise is up to you.
@@maninthecab the law on that changed 2 years ago if you pass in a auto you can still drive a manual truck but that law only applies to trucks and not cars
Kelt Thomas I’m now more up to date and you’re partially correct - you need to have passed your car test with a manual gearbox ; who on Earth in authority thinks that using a 5 or 6 speed gearbox in a car means you can cope a 16 speed range change/splitter setup , which is still not uncommon , despite most new trucks being automatics .

30goran No you can’t, if you pass on auto , you can only drive auto and it will state that on your licence.
