Backstory: Sonic defeats EggMan and stops his plans as usual, but this time EggMan has a trump card. He uses a portal device to send him to another dimension. Sonic wakes up after taking a pretty big fall and finds himself on Inkwell Isle. He immediately does what he knows best:Run. He runs all over Isle, seeking a way to get back to his world. However he comes across some of The Devil’s goons terrorizing some citizens and he puts a stop to it. The goons, all beat up, go back to the devil and tell him about the blur. Annoyed and not taking his minions very seriously, he tells them to put up bounty posters for the “Blue Hedgehog” he speaks up. He laughs at his minions and then teleports away. However, they follow his commands and put bounty posters all over inkwell for a fast blue hedgehog. However one of the minions make a mistake and put an extra 0 on all of the posters, making it seem as if the reward was 500 gold. Cuphead and Mugman stumble onto one of these posters. Cuphead exclaims to mugman how rich they’ll be if they catch the hedgehog but Mugman isn’t interested. But before Mugman can speak anymore to protest Sonic zooms past them. Mugman is in disbelief but Cuphead takes advantage and quickly and yells “Hey Hedgehog!”. Sonic stops and runs back. He asks if the called his name. Cuphead says yes and introduces him and Mugman, Sonic introduces himself as well. Cuphead then attempts to lore Sonic into a trap to no avail. Mugman thinks sonic is a nice guy and doesn’t want to assist cuphead. He instead goes to make sure if Sonic is even the right person on the poster, he seems like no harm. Cuphead’s plan unfortunately doesn’t work. Which causes him to get angry and starts attacking Sonic. At first sonic is playing along and just dodging not thinking much but he then gets hit with an EX attack, causing him to strike cuphead back. Then “Knockout” begins. Then finally Mugman comes back to tell Cuphead the bounty poster had a typo then..you know the rest. Tldr:The devil’s goons attack some citizens and are stopped by sonic. The Devil tells his minions to set up a bounty poster. And Cuphead tries to claim the reward.
