Great lesson. Simple but brilliant, with gems in there. Just straight forward good teaching without all the selling and marketing, we have normally have listen to with other TH-cam channels

The thing I've learned in doing this exercise is that, in many ways, it is very centered around rhythm playing. Knowing when and what the chord changes are and landing on the triads, and inflecting from them, accordingly..it builds great discipline in doing this. Again, you reflect on how much Hendrix or other greats were likely freestyling it and just had natural intuition for hitting the sweetest tones. What do you do, though, if it's a complex piece and you're not completely sure of the chords being used? Great video, thanks!

I have always said that you can tell a good teacher by making difficult things easy. Congratulations, your level is incredible for your age, although Jimi, who died at just 27, also reached an incredible level.

Your good humor adds class to you, but if it were true that you have not reached that age, well then you must belong to that Indigo generation.

Nice lesson, I play hammond and for some reason I always thought hitting the 5th was a good dramatic note to start a solo with

Great lesson . I wonder if Jimmy thought that like or that he just played by ear ...

I think about this too. I reckon he had an extreme talent for intuitive guitar playing.

It’s an epiphone Sheraton ii from the 80s. It built very nicely and plays quite well

May I suggest a real pop filter for your mic? If you watch/listen in a room/studio with decent monitors, the plosives are booming. Great videos though! Thanks

Man I wish I understood what all these notes and chord progressions mean.. I truly regret not taking lessons when I was a kid. It seems impossible to learn all this stuff now. 🫤

I don’t know how old you are but I guarantee you the theoretical understanding is the simplest part. It’s not rocket science. A-G and 1-13.
You have to start somewhere though. I recommend you start by searching for the most watched video on the circle of fifths. The Circle of Fifths is a visual tool that has 80-90% of music theory built into it.
